How early do I need to arrive to the airport to be on time for my flight with united airlines departure time is 9:55am it's my first time ever flying have no clue or idea of what to do or where to go
Flying UA from Vancouver to Austin TX. Have a change of plane in Houston. If luggage is checked all the way to Austin, do i have to go through customs in Houston? or not until final arrival in Austin.
You will actually pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. All you have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
Hi, in Dec Im gonna arrive to Houston in terminal D, and in the same terminal I have to take another flight to Mexico City. Have I go through immigration? How longe it take it? I have 3h 20 min. Thanks
Where are you flying into Houston from? What airlines are you flying?
Ill come from Amserdam, but Ill start my trip in Italy. The airlines will be Delta Airlines-Am. I have to take out my luggage again in Mexico City?
So you will arrive on KLM in Terminal D, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. KLM should be able to issue your Aeromexico boarding pass at your origin point in Italy.
Hi! I'm Mexican flying United Airlines from MEX to IAH and then to NRT. The first flight arrives in IAH at 8:38 and the second one departs at 10:15 (this one is operated by ANA).This is a 1h37m connection. Do you think this is enough time? Will I have to change terminals? If so, is it easy to do it fast?
That is barely enough time. You will arrive in Terminal E and depart from Terminal D, which are two sides of the same building. You will have to go through US Immigration, customs, and security in Houston.
Thank you!
I have a 90 minute layover at IAH before continuing on another domestic flight. I want to go outside and have a cigarette on the layover. Will I have enough time to go outside and go back through security in 90 minutes, on a Wednesday around 4:30pm?
Unless your first flight arrives early, I wouldn't try it.
I arrive on Saturday 1st October at 12.30pm at IAH but didn't realise my connecting flight which leaves at 3pm to Dallas is leaving from Hobby. Is 2.5 hours enough time to clear customs and get a private transfer to Hobby in time for my 3pm flight to Dallas? This Aussie didn't realise there were 2 airports in Houston.
2 hours should be plenty of time. They are fairly efficient, don't worry!
You might want to call the airlines involved and let them know of your circumstance... they might be able to make a better recommendation... at noon traffic is not too bad, but if they can give you a little more wiggle room, you won't feel as stressed!
You can change your Southwest ticket from Hobby without paying a change fee.
I am traveling with a 18 -month od baby and 4 checked in luggages + car seat. My flight is international so when I arrive at IAH I need to pass through custom; it will be hard for me to handle a busy toddler and a pile of heavy luggages by myself. Is there any assistance to collect and bring luggages to the exit ( my husband will be there)?
There will be carts available. I think that between the two of you and a cart you can manage. There are not people to assist you.
My husband will be waiting at the exit... So I will be alone.. I had conflicting info from Iah agents, some of them say that only carts are available and others that there are porters available at each baggage claim even before custom ...
I have a 5:10 AM flight coming up. How do I get to the gate 30 min (much less the recommended 1 hour) early when the TSA doesn't open up from what I can see until 4:45? Am I missing something? Too late to register for TSA pre check, I won't get my clearance in time.
Pre-check won't be open at that time so no need to worry about that. What airline are you flying? A 5:10 flight will basically be the earliest flight so there won't be many other flights with people clogging the security line that early in the morning.
I noticed several FLL to Calgary flights have a 45 min connection thru Houston. United says Houston should have a 60 minutes connection leeway yet they sell these tickets with less time. Anyone know why they do this, are they hoping people will miss the connections? The slightest delay in arriving or on the tarmac or gate would ruin a vacation and worse if the next flight is full. Has anyone made these tight connections, how realistic is it?
It is not impossible. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
I am flying from IAH to Quito from UA 1035 on 07 Jul 2016. How to know the departure terminal for the flight.
You will depart from Terminal E.
