  • 5 hours layover
    Oct 3, 2015
Hi, traveling from MGA to San Jose California, making a layover of 5 hours in Houston Texas. I have a priority pass for VIP lounge. I will arrive in terminal terminal E, and my departure flight I think is terminal C. The VIP lounge is in terminal D, so my question is, can I go from terminal E to D and then go to terminal C when my flight to San Jose is near to take off. Thanks

Yes, you can. Note that you will go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security first.

  • 14 Hours Layover
    Sep 30, 2015
Hi, I have a 14 hour layover on a Saturday evening. Arriving at about 18:30pm and leaving at 8:50 the next morning. Will it be worth leaving the airport, or will things be starting to close by the time we get out to the city? Thanks a lot in advance

Bars and restaurants will still be open.

  • Process to leave the airport
    Sep 14, 2015
I'm flying from Japan (ANA) to Mexico (United) with a layover at IAH. On the way to Mexico I have an 8hr layover, but on the way back it's 3 hr. On the 8hr layover I wanted to meet my brother who lives in Houston, and on the 3hr one I'll stay inside the airport. I understand that on arrival I have to go through US Immigraiton and customs, and then I'm free to leave and return to the airport after clearing security, or stay inside and take the TerminaLink. Is this correct?

Actually after customs and bag re-check is when you can decide to leave the airport or not.

  • Terminal B to Terminal C

I have a flight that lands from MSP at 8:03 in terminal B.. will I have enough time to make it to Terminal C to get on my connecting flight that takes off at 8:45?

I am also not checking in luggage. I am having a carry on.

You can take the TerminaLink Train inside security between Terminal B and Terminal C. you have enough time if the first flight is on-time

  • Flight from PHX to IAH to MUC (Short layover)
    Sep 7, 2015
I am flying from Phoenix to Houston and arriving in Terminal B. I then need to get to Terminal E for my flight to Munich. I have an hour-and-a-half layover. Will I have enough time? Also, will I need to get my checked bags and re-check them? Lastly, will I need to go through security again?

You do not have to do anything with your bags or go through security. Just take the TerminaLink train from your arrival terminal to Terminal E and walk to your departure gate. You should have plenty of time.

Once you clear customs you will be outside security and free to go where you want. Nobody is guarding the doors.

  • Short layover for connecting flight
    Sep 5, 2015
I'm looking at flights that go from Tampa to California (LA or San Francisco) that only 35 or 45 minute layover in Houston. Is that enough time?

It's possible but obviously not ideal.

  • Time through customs
    Sep 3, 2015
Hi- I am a US citizen and I will be returning to the the US through IAH (Houston George Bush) from MGA (Managua) on a Sunday evening. The layover time is 1 hour 10 min. Is that enough time to go through customs and make my connecting flight? The only other option is a 5 hour layover, but maybe that is the safer choice. Thanks for your help.

No, 1 hr 10 minutes is not possible for International to domestic at IAH.

  • layover to Aguascalientes
    Sep 3, 2015
I'm trying to book a flight from DC to Aguascalientes. Is 33 Minutes enough time to catch the flight to Aguascalientes.

It's theoretically possible, but leaves absolutely no room for any delays or holdups.

  • Layover of 5 hours
    Sep 3, 2015
I am traveling with Spirit from Orlando to San Salvador (El Salvador) with a layover in IAH. My friends from Houston want to meet me at the airport during the layover. Where could we meet inside the airport? Is there a terminal that has restaurants before security? Thanks

I'd meet in the baggage claim of Terminal A where you will arrive. the only restaurants other than coffee kiosks outside security at the airport are in the airport Marriott Hotel.

  • ORD to IAH to MGA
    Jul 29, 2015
Hi, I am hoping someone can put my mind at rest regarding connection times. I am a UK citizen flying from chicago to Houston, arriving at terminal C. I then fly from Houston to Managua. Both flights are United Airlines. I arrive in IAH at 10.40 and depart at 12.31. Will I need to collect and re-check luggage? Will this be sufficient time. Many Thanks

No, you do not have to do anything with your baggage in Houston. There is no US Customs when exiting the United States. All you have to do in Houston is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have plenty of time.

  • Enough time between flight
    Jul 29, 2015

  • Enough time to clear customs and connect?
    Jul 27, 2015
Hello, I'm a UK resident (German citizen), and I'm planning to fly from BHX (via FRA via IAH) to ICT. Would a 1.53h layover in Houston be enough time for me to clear customs and immigration, etc, to make my connection to Wichita? Thanks very much!

Yes, that should be enough time if your flight from FRA is on-time.

  • 40 mins connection time enough to get from Terminal C to Terminal E
    Jul 23, 2015
Hi there I have a return flight on 15-Aug from Aruba landing at IAH at 20:10 (Terminal C) and my next flight departing IAH to UK at 20:50 from IAH Terminal E. I'm concerned I may not make this latter flight. Will I have enough time? Do I have to go through security? What is the fastest way to get from Terminal C to E. Any help will be most appreciated.

You can just walk from C to E. You should barely have enough time if your flight from Aruba is on-time. Just follow the signs. You do not have to go through security.
