7 hour lay overApr 28, 201310we have a 10 hour lay over at IAH. We get to IAH at 1am with connecting flight the next day at 10:30 am. Besides sleeping at the airport floor, do you have any suggestions?cancun boundposted on Sun, Apr 28According to Google Maps there's 2 Denny's not too far from IAH - you could take a cab there then call another cab when you're sick of killing time there. There's also an on-site hotel at IAH if you want to actually try to sleep. http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/iahap-houston-airport-marriott-at-george-bush-intercontinental/ZAPposted on Sun, Apr 28

meeting someone on layover for lunchApr 2, 201310can I meet someone for lunch at IAH terminal B without going through security?pegleeposted on Tue, Apr 2Terminal B has no outside security restaurants and you won't be able to go through security. The only place on airport grounds that I can find to eat at would be the Marriott - http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/iahap-houston-airport-marriott-at-george-bush-intercontinental/ I wouldn't recommend trying to do that unless your friend's layover is at least 3 hours, preferably 4.ZAPposted on Tue, Apr 2

IAH to HOBBY 3 hrs 25 min layoverMar 26, 201310We are arriving at IAH 16:25 and needd to catch another domestic flight from HOBBY at 19:45. For an Indian passenger arriving first time in US,is the layover enough to clear immigration, baggage customes, travel to Hobby visa taxi and checkin over thereAmarposted on Tue, Mar 26

how to re enter boarding area?Mar 18, 201320We just found out that close friends are just 45 min from the IAH airport. We have a 1 hr layover in Teminal C. Is there an area of the airport that we could visit with them for a few minutes before reboarding our flight? Can they enter the resturant area? Or can we exit to a pre boarding area and then re enter to board our plane?Celynposted on Mon, Mar 18You could exit security and re-enter, but realistically with just a 1 hr layover you would only be seeing your friends for 15 minutes tops before you have to get back in the security line again.ZAPposted on Mon, Mar 18

Overnight layover questionsOct 2, 201221flying UNITED : SFO-through IAH-to Cozumel Mexico. We are arriving to Houston 10pm on a FRI night. flight to Cozumel leave next morning at 9am. Planning on checking into onsite airport Marriott for the overnight layover to let my 5 y.o (and us) sleep. Just want to be sure arrival, leaving terminal to hotel then going through security in am should be seamless? doable?SCUBAGIRLposted on Tue, Sep 251 person likes this post [ Like ]Make sure you have a boarding pass for your connecting flight; if not, on arrival at IAH, go to the United counter on the Departures level and get your boarding card which you will need the next day.wesep12posted on Wed, Sep 26

Dine with relative at airportMar 3, 201321My sister and her family will be at IAH saturday with a 3.5 hr layover. I would like dine with them at the airport during their layover. All the good restaurants are beyond the TSA checkpoint. Can I go beyond the checkpoint as a guest with no boarding pass and dine with my family as they are between flights? How can I do this???jogrossposted on Wed, Jun 27Yes indeed, you cannot go beyond the security check. However, I found a few pre-security eats at IAH: At Terminal A, ticketing Lobby: Stadium City Bar & Grill; and Starbucks; At Terminal D: Vito's Bar & Deli, also in the Ticketing Lobby; At Terminal E: Ruby's Diner - to the right of security checkpoint - not sure if that's pre-security. There are also Food courts North & South - but does not state pre- or post-security.wejun12posted on Wed, Jun 271 person likes this post [ Like ]
