I will have an 8 hour layover in Houston from Taipei to Little Rock arriving at 11:30pm and connecting flight departure time at 7:20AM. I am concerned about the TSA checkpoint closing at midnight? Also, would it be better to just stay and sleep in the airport?
You will have to sleep/wait outside the secure area and go back through security in the morning when security opens at about 4 AM.
I am thinking of booking a flight from Toronto back to Albuquerque with a connection in IAH of 59 minute layover. is this ample time to get through immigration and catch my connection?
United Flight from Toronto to Albuquerque.
Yes, that is enough time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Skyway train connects all terminals inside security in Houston.
I have a flight on Fri Feb 17 that lands in IAH at 4:30 PM (AeroMexico from Monterrey.. Terminal D) and a departing international flight at 6:40 PM (Emirates.. Terminal D). I am from India.
Do i need to collect luggage .. get custom cleared and checkin again ? Also 2 Hrs 10 Min layover time.. good enough to complete Immigration, Customs and catch the next flight..
Yes, you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the Emirates check-in desk, and go through security. You will need a US Transit Visa. You have barely enough time if everything goes perfectly.
Flying from Philly to Puerto Vallarta, MX with a 37 layover through Houston (United Airlines changed the schedule on me) They're telling me it will be enough time. Seems like everything would have to go perfectly. Worried about them losing my bags in the process.Enough time?
Yes, everything does have to go perfectly, but it is possible.
We are flying from Bogota to Dallas, with a layover in Houston of 2 hours. Does airline (United) check luggage directly from BOG to DFW, or is it necessary to make customs and check luggage in again at IAH? if so, Do we have enough time?
In Houston, you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate.
Also, you should have enough time if everything goes smoothly.
looking to book a cancun trip. flight to cancun is direct from seattle. flight from cancun has a layover in IAH. trying to figure out the length of layover should be good. we will likely have checked bags. we are a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids under 10). without having to rush things and allowing time at customs and getting our luggage and re-checking them in, what is a good layover time? 2 hours? 1 hour and 30 mins? 3 hours? i was told i should look for a layover that is at least 2 hours....but there is a (cheaper) flight that has a 90min layover...thoughts?
What airlines are you flying? 2 hours is good. 90 minutes is a little risky but not impossible.
It's Alaska Airlines from Cancun to IAH.
sorry...i meant AMERICAN airlines form Cancun to IAH.
American Airlines does not fly from Cancun to IAH. Please double check what you're looking at.
sorry about that...i have a couple of options...Cancun on AMERICAN to DFW with a 1hr 50 min layover....OR....Cancun on UNITED to IAH with a 1hr 36min layover or a 4hr 29min layover (YIKES!).
