Hi there. My daughter and boyfriend arrive at 11.55pm and only leave the next day at 9pm. Flying in from Canada and leaving for new Zealand. Would there be anywhere in the airport to stay over as if they leave the airport I presume they'd need a visa ?
What are their citizenships? Canadians and New Zealanders don't need a Visa to visit or transit the US. They will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Canada. They are free to leave the airport in Houston.
Hi, We are landing in IAH from Mexico, and then connecting to EWR with an oversized bag. Do we need to retrieve our bags when we clear customs? Where is the oversized bag drop off in relation to customs? We have two hours, is this doable?
Yes, you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. The re-check desk is just past customs. They should be able to handle your oversize bag for you.
We are flying into Houston IAH from Frankfurt FRA and connecting to Guatemala City GUA with a transit time of 1:10 hrs. Will we have enough time to get to our connecting flight, if flights are on time?
both United flights ( UA47 and UA1902)
That is not enough time for an International to International connection in Houston.
Thank you for your reply- So what can I do now? I booked the tickets already and the travel agency told me that according to United Airlines it is the minimum conntecting time, and I should go to the UA Counter in case I miss the flight. Is there anything I can do at the Airport to get to my Connection faster?
Bring an extra change of clothes and prepare to spend the night in the Houston Airport unless your flight from London arrives early.
Sorry, I meant Frankfurt, not London.
I will be flying to Houston from ICT (Wichita) and have an hour layover until my next flight to Phoenix. I would like to have a checked bag, but am worried it won't have time to transfer. Do you think there would be enough time for any checked luggage to get to my second flight? Both are United and morning flights.
That is enough time. If you need to change terminals the Skyway train connects all terminals inside security.
I am thinking of flying from New Orleans to Cancun with a 1hr layover in Houston. Is one hour enough for the connection?

Yes, that is enough time if your flight from New Orleans is on-time. All you have to do in Houston is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
I will have check luggages. Don't I need to claim my luggages first or they will do that for me?
Hi, I'm travelling from seattle to Orlando, have a layover time of 2hrs 30 mns at IAH, Houston. planning to meet a friend during this time at the IAH airport. I was wondering if I will have a sufficient time to do so since I will have to go through the security check again? Any advice is highly appreciated!
You really only have enough time to meet with them for about 30-45 minutes. I'll let you decide if you think that's worth it.
thanks much! if I'm correct that includes the time required to go through the security checks and boarding off the flight aswell right? and should I have to take the subway to get to Terminal C from Terminal E?
Yes, that is correct. Both of your flights will likely be in Terminal C.

I am travelling air canada to IAH from YUL (montreal) and then switching to United to go to BZE (belize city). I do not have any checked luggage, only a carry-on. Will a 1 hour 20 minute layover be enough time?
Is one hour layover long enough for connecting flight in Houston from Pittsburgh to Seattle-both United flights.
Yes, that should be enough time. Both flights will likely be in Terminal C, but if you do have to change terminals, the Skyway train connects all terminals inside security.
Hello. I am coming into IAH in the morning but my next flight is at 10pm. I would like to use the lounge in Terminal D to rest up and catch up on work. Would it be possible for me to do so without a printed ticket from Aeromexico; would a printed itinerary from Aeromexico suffice? Thanks!
I forgot to add that the flight at 10pm is a separate ticketed flight on Aeromexico. I will be coming in from DFW with AA.
You will need your Aeromexico boarding pass to get through security. If you aren't able to get it online you will have to wait until the AeroMexico check-in counter is open. They have a 12:41 PM flight so the desk should be open at about 10. However, note that Aeromexico doesn't thave a lounge at IAH.
Hi. I am flying with United Airlines from Managua to IAH terminal E and have a 1.5h layover to catch my flight with Lufthansa (also departing from terminal E) to London. Can someone advise whether this is feasible? Also, can someone confirm if I need to collect my luggage in Houston or whether it'll be sent straight to LHR since I am just in transit there. Esta is sorted, I hold a Spanish passport (no access to Global Entry). Thanks a million!
Your flight to London will also be operated by United. In Houston you will go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security but should not have to claim your bags. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
