No, you can take the TerminaLink train inside security from Terminal B to Terminal D. You have plenty of time.

Jan 29th FLT UA 1447 from Cgy to Houston and then connection FLT UA1599 to RSW/No Fort Myers ( 1 hr 19mins connecting time ). What terminals do we arrive in and then depart from and do we have to rush to make connection ? thx

You will likely both arrive and depart in C. You will have plenty of time if your first flight is on-time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Calgary.

    Thanks for the info !!!

  • Enough time & how far apart are the gates?

We are seniors so I cannot run. Our United Express flight UA5237K lands at 10:40 am. Our connecting flight UA4984K to McAllen leaves at 11:28 am. How far apart are the gates and will we have problems getting to it on time?

Both flights will likely be in Terminal B. You should have plenty of time if your first flight is on-time.

I am flying into Houston on United and have a 45 minute layover to catch my next flight to Orlando. We have 4 adults and 2 infants (1.5 years old). Will we have enough time to make it? Do you have any tips?

The TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security. You have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

If I were to fly from the Kansas City (MCI) airport to Houston (IAH), and have a 48 minute layover in IAH before my connecting flight leaves IAH for the Panama-Tocumen airport, would that 48 minute layover give me enough time to get to Terminal E? I understand I would not need to recheck my baggage during my layover....so 48 minutes should be enough time for me to make through all the security checkpoints and over to Terminal E, correct? Just want to make sure before switching my flight to this option! Thanks!

There are no security checkpoints. The TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security. All you would have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You would have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

Hi, i will arrive at 2:43pm in Houston from Cancun with a united airplane. My Connection fight departs at 4:05pm with lufthansa to frankfurt. Is that enough time? Do i have to claim my luggage And re check it? Thanks

That should barely be enough time. The United policy is that because you are on an International to International connection you will not have to claim your bags, but please confirm that with the united staff in Cancun and Houston. Also, note that you will still have to go through US Immigration and Customs.

Can we make a 59 minute connection flying from PHX, changing plane is Houston, to Bonnaire? Flying United

Yes, if your first flight is on-time that should be enough time. You just have to walk from Terminal C where you will arrive to E where you will depart.

  • Traveling from Punta Cana to Austin with a 25 minute layover in IAH?

My travel agent booked me on my return flight from Punta Cana to Austin with only a 25 minute layover in IAH. Is that even possible? Will I have to go through customs or special security or lines coming back into the US? I think she made an irresponsible booking decision!

You are right. you will have to go through US Immigration and Customs in Houston. You need to call your travel agent, tell her she made a huge error and rebook you on a later flight to Austin.

we are traveling in june. we leave duelles with a 50 minute layover in Houston before continuing to punta cana. is 50 minutes enough time for 3 of us to make it from terminal A to terminal D? nervous about the length of layover.

What airlines are you flying? United does not use Terminal A or D. No airline that flies from Houston to Punta Cana uses Terminal D. If you are flying United you will likely arrive in Terminal C and depart from Terminal E.

  • 57 minutes connecting flight in Houston from Canada

Hello, I´m traveling from Italy to Mexico this next June. I will be traveling with one 5 year old and one 9 month old. I'm tempted to buy a ticket that flies from Milan to Toronto next Houston and finally Mexico. Unfortunatelly the connection time between flights in Houston is just 57 minutes. Is it possible to make it on time? Thanks

Yes, that is possible as you will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto, so all you have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. If they are in different terminals the TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security.

Hi! I'll be traveling with United from San José (Costa Rica) to NYC through IAH with a connection time between flighst of 84min. I know I will need to go through US inmigration but I will only have hand luggage with me so taken into account I do not need to claim or re-check any luggage, will it be enough time for me between flights? Thank you very much in advance. Best regards

Yes, if your first flight is on-time that should be enough time.

Thank you very much ZAP for your answer! one more question.... do you happen to know the terminal I should be arriving and departing? and... there is some kind of "special line in customs for those with connection flights? thank you very much!!

    I meant, inmigration line...

You will arrive in Terminal E and depart from Terminal C or E. The majority of passengers will be connecting. There is no special line.

Flying from ELP - IAH and then IAH - IAD. First flight is supposed to land at 12:09, second flight departs at 12:50. Is this possible at IAH to make in enough time?

Yes, that is definitely possible. If you arrrive in Terminal B and need to go to Terminal C, they are connected inside security by the TerminaLink train.

I booked a flight MEX-IAH-LHR with United. Connecting time is 1:26 at 8PM. Seems that arrival and departure are in terminal E. Even though this seems to be a 'legal' connection I am wondering if it is realistic. Are there special lanes at immigration for short connections? Do I need to claim and re-check my bag?

The policy is that you will not have to claim your bags during your connection when you go through US Immigration because you are on an International to International connection, but confirm that with the United agents in Mexico City and Houston. You should barely have enough time.

  • Flying in from Munich on United to trasfer üplane with United to Lima

Hi - Would one hour among gates in Terminal E be enough? Do I have to clear US immigration and/ or customs although I am in transit? I am quite perplexed about the hassle and time lost of doing in between steps that are not done elsewhere. Can you please advise? Otherwise I can fly from Munich to Amsterdam (very quick) onto Lima on far newer equipment (triple 7) in less total time… Many thanks

Yes, you have to go through US Immigration and Customs, then go through security. The US does not have sterile international transit zones because only a small percentage of US air traffic is on international to international connections. 1 hour is not enough time for your connection.
