Hi - I arrive at IAH at 8:17pm from DCA and my connecting flight is an international Air NZ flight to Auckland leaving at 10:25pm - is this enough time to make the connection and do security etc? Thanks!

My flight arrives at 11:15PM and my next flight is at 2am. Is the immigration open 24 hours?

Where are you flying from and to? What airlines?

  • 45 Minute layover

I have a flight from La Guardia International NYC to Houston Intercontinental Airport and I have a layover of 46 minutes for my flight to Mobile, AL to depart. will that be enough time to make it to my departing gate?

Yes, that is enough time. You will arrive in Terminal C and depart from terminal A or B. The Skyway train connects all terminals inside security.

Thanks you very much for your help!

My mom is coming from Munich to Houston on Lufthansa LH 725, has a 2 hour layover before catching united flight to phoenix at 5.50pm. Will her bags be checked in all the way to the final destination and not pick up at houston and recheck ?

Her bags are tagged through to PHX, but in Houston she will go through US Immigration, claim her bags, go through US Customs, re-check her bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to her departure gate. She has enough time.

I am flying through Houston in July with my kids, and we have a 23hr layover during which time we'll go visit a friend. What can I do with my baggage? I really don't want to have to drag them over to my friend's house

You have to bring them to your friend's house. There is no baggage storage at IAH.

That sucks! But thanks a lot for your help. Now I can plan accordingly

I have a flight from La Guardia to Houston on United then connecting to Auckland on air NZ but have a 1 hour layover. I checked with the agent and she said my bags will be checked through and it will be enough time. Is 1 hour enough time?

Yes, that is enough time if your flight from LaGuardia is on-time. All you have to do in Houston is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

We will be landing from San Antonio Airport into Houston and have only a 35 minute layover to catch a plane to Cozumel. Will this be enough time to make the flight?

Yes, it is possible but it leaves no time to spare if the flight from San Antonio is late. All you have to do in Houston is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • 1 hour 20 minutes for connection

We are flying from Grand Cayman through IAH then on to Portland. Is an hour and 20 minutes long enough to go through customs and catch our flight to PDX? I'm nervous...

That is below the minimum International to Domestic connection time in Houston. It might be possible with no checked bags. Probably not possible with checked bags.

Ugh..... I asked my travel agent and she assured me that it was enough time. I guess we will see tonight. I'm pretty nervous about it though. Thanks ZAP! Do you have any recommendations for us to speed up the process?

Not much you can do. Maybe look at the schedule and see if there's a way they can rebook you to Portland through San Francisco or Denver if there is no later Nonstop flight to Portland.

Thanks for taking the time to talk to me, ZAP! Our arriving flight got in 30 minutes early so we were able to make the connection. It would've been really close if we hadn't been early!

  • Terminal C to B

Let me preface by saying I haven't flown in 20+ years. I have a 40 "layover" in Houston. My first flight will arrive in Terminal C, and my connecting flight departs from Terminal B. What's the quickest/easiest way to get from C to B, and is 40 minutes enough time, assuming the first flight is on time? Thank you for your time.

Type-O. it should say 40 minute "layover"...

Terminals B and C are connected inside security by the Skyway train. You have enough time if the first flight is on-time.

Hi we are flying from LHR into IAH then onto MCO all with United. They have given us 2hrs 5mins (which we will have to clear immigration, collect bags, security, customs and return bags). I feel very nervous about this we are a family of 5. Do you think we will be ok?

That should be enough time if everything goes smoothly.

my son will be traveling from New Zealand tomorrow arriving at IAH at 12:45 PM. His flight to Orlando leaves at 2:30pm. He is a US citizen. Will he make it and what does he have to do in terms of re-checking baggage? Thank you.

I should mention that he is traveling on one ticket so he should not have to go back to the check-in counter with the specs as they are checked through to his final destination. Thank you.

He will arrive in Terminal D, go through US Immigration, claim his bag, go through US Customs, re-check his bag at the re-check desk right after, then go through security and to his departure gate in Terminal C. He has just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

    thank you

Arriving Air New Zealand at 1:40. Flight out at 5:00 on American. Is that enough time to clear customs with Global Entry and use TSA Precheck to get back through security. Sunday after Thanksgiving.

Yes, that should be enough time even though that is a very busy day.

Yes, that should be enough time.

  • Layover time - SEA-IAH, then IAH-Moscow

I am flying from Seattle to Moscow by singapore airlines and make connection at IAH. I've got only about an hour between two flights. I was told that I would have to collect my checked bags at IAH and then go through the customs/security again. Is 1 hour enough for the connection?

That is incorrect. There is no US Customs when leaving the US. If your bags are tagged through to Moscow then you just have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.

ZAP, thanks for your response. When I spoke with singapore airline representative and she said I would have to pick up my bags and go through security again. You think this is incorrect?

If you are purchasing two separate reservations, it is correct. If everything is on the same reservation, it is not correct. Either way, there is no US Customs when leaving the US.

Is 1 hour 20 enough time to connect from United domestic flight (Seattle to IAH) to United international flight (IAH to Cancun)?

Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
