I will be arriving from MCO (Orlando) to IAH, with a little over 2 hours to make it to my connecting flight to San Francisco (SFO). All flights are with United Airlines. Is this enough time? What is the most efficient path to get from my arrival gate to my next departure? Thanks.

Hi - if all is on time I should arrive in IAH from BRO at 12:15 at Terminal B, leaving at 12:55 at Terminal C to LGA - this is 40Min connection time... can it be done on a Sunday? Thanks.

That is enough time if the first flight is on-time. The TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security.

Hi, I will be connecting from terminal A (US0443) to terminal D (QR0714) with my senior citizen parents. There is a 2 -hour plus connection time - is that enough? If I get a wheelchair for one of them, would it help or slow it down? Do the wheelchair attendants go with them gate-to-gate?

Yes, the wheelchair will take them from gate to gate. If both tickets are on the same reservation that is enough time.

We are two adults and two children travelling from (Oaxaca) Mexico to Montreal, Canada through IAH. Will we be required to collect our baggage, go through customs and security in order to continue on to Montreal?

You will have to go through US Immigration, Customs and Security. Ask United personnel in Houston whether or not you have to claim your baggage. Some International to International passengers do not.

    Thank you!

I have no idea what terminal I will be arriving at, but I have 47 minutes (IF flight is on time) to get to the departing terminal for Tyler. Is that enough time to get to any terminal? Flight is on United.

It is enough time if the first flight is on-time. The TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security.

  • Connection from terminal D to B

Hi I am coming from Frankfurt to terminal D and I have to go to terminal B. Do I have to claim my baggage at terminal D and then re-check it also at the same terminal or that will be done automatically? How do I get to Terminal B ? My layover time is 2.5 hours.

Yes, you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and take the TerminaLink train to Terminal B. You have plenty of time.

Thank you Zap. This information is very helpful.

  • arriving domestic / leaving EVA intl term D need to check baggage for
    Sep 28, 2015
I have United Express flight TYR to IAH then leave on sep ticket on EVA to TPE. Can I check bags fom Tyr to TPE ( EVA and United are STAR) any experience with this or similar?

If you show your Eva confirmation to the agent in Tyler they may check them through but are not obligated, so be prepared for claim and re-check your bags in Houston.

Thanks. Further research with MPlous website finds "At the airport Be sure to inform us of your final destination if you are connecting, so your baggage can be checked through if possible. United only checks bags through between the origin and destination stated on the ticket. If you have a separate ticket on another carrier, you must claim bags at the destination of the first ticketed itinerary and check bags with the other carrier to the final destination.* Baggage can be checked through to the final destination if the separate ticketed itinerary includes Star Alliance member airline-operated flights."

Yes, that is the official policy but it is not always followed, especially because the employees in Tyler are not official United employees.

  • Domestic to international Terminal C to Terminal E in 30 minutes?
    Sep 25, 2015
I am flying tomorrow from Santa Ana arriving at IAH Terminal C at 6:05 pm and then catch international flight to Frankfurt at Terminal E with departure time of 6:50 pm. The boarding is supposed to end at 6:30 pm. Will it be enough time? Do I have to go through security at Terminal E again? Also will it be enough time for my luggage to transfer?

Boarding will not end at 6:30. You have enough time if your first flight is on-time. You do not have to go through security.

I arrive from toronto to iah and continue to san antonio. I bought alcohol at duty free. Am I screwed for keeping them?

No, you can keep it, you will not have to go through security in Houston. All gates are connected inside security by the TerminaLink train.

I am coming in to Houston from Peoria, IL and will have 31 minutes until flight to Phoenix, AZ. Is that enough time to make my connection? I am also doing the same thing on the way back, coming in to Houston from Phoenix and have 35 minutes to make connection back to Peoria, IL. Any thoughts?

That is barely enough time if everything goes perfectly.

  • YYC to IAH to CUN connection
    Sep 25, 2015
We arrive from YYC on AC8104 at Terminal A at 15:35 and depart from Terminal E to CUN at 17:52 on Saturday. Do we have to pick up our luggage and clear customs or proceed to our next gate for the connecting flight?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Calgary and there is no US Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do is take the TerminaLink train from A to E and walk to your departure gate. You have plenty of time.

  • Connection flight / time
    Sep 23, 2015
I am arriving from Guadalajara UA4488 14:39 to Houston. I need to get my connection to Frankfurt UA8867 15:50. Seems tough but its doable ? I had to go to immigrations / security and had to pick up my luggage and needed to drop it off right after on the way to Mexico. Do I have to do the same procedure on the way back to germany ? Any tips ? The flight to houston should be an UA aircraft (star alliance) and the flight to Frankfurt should be operated by Lufthansa since they have the partnership, in case it could change anything best regards

This will be a very difficult connection. The procedure should be the same.

Well I guess I can talk to an airport staff member and ask for fast tracks
