  • Is the time connecting between c and e terminals
    Mar 29, 2015

Is there enough time to connect on a domestice arrival on United in terminal C and leaving on an International flight on United in terminal E with only 40 minute connection time.

That should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. You can walk directly from C to E.

How long is the walk. Worst case scenario.

    15 minutes worst case scenario

  • Guadalajara to Frankfurt through IAH

I will be returning from Guadalajara, Mexico with United and connect to Lufthansa flight to Frankfurt . I only have 1 hour 20 min and I have to change from terminal E to terminar D. Is that enough time?

That is possible but difficult. You will have to go through US Immigration and Customs, but you should not have to claim your bags because you are on an international to international connection. You will also have to go through security. If you can change your ticket and get an earlier flight from Guadalajara I would do that.

  • VERY short connection time

I am a UK citizen who will be returning to London from Vegas via Houston on United airlines. United have given me 35 minutes to get from terminal C at Houston to terminal E. The travel company claim United have given me enough time but I am not so sure. Will I need to claim my bag, re-check them in and do the whole passport control thing again? All help gratefully received!

All you have to do in Houston on your way to London is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time if your first flight is on-time. Just follow signs to your departure gate.

    Thank you!

  • flying in from Mexico City, going to Toronto

I will be flying in from Mexico City on United and flying out to Toronto. Lay-over time is just under two hours, without considering delays. Will I have enough time to go through customs and catch my flight?

Yes, that should be enough time. Because you are on an International to International connection at IAH, if you have checked bags you shouldn't have to claim them to go through US Customs.

I am flying in from Toronto and then taking the connecting flight to Mexico City. The lay-over is 1 hour and 10 minutes. will I have to change terminals? and if so is there enough time?

You may have to change terminals, however, all terminals are connected inside security by the TerminaLink train. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do in IAH is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You should have plenty of time.

  • Munich (MUC) to Houston (IAH) to Honolulu

Hi, we are flying from Munich (Germany) to Houston and then directly to Honolulu. Our connecting time is 1:30 h! Our travel agency says, that is enough time, but we are still in a doubt. Any help or comments?

That should be enough time. You will arrive in Terminal E, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and to your departure gate which will likely also be in E.

  • Toronto to Houston to Ixtapa

We are hoping to fly with United out of Toronto and have 1 h 2 min for our layover in Houston on the way to Ixtapa and then 1 h 50 min on the way back. Not sure what our arrival and departure terminals would be. Will that be enough time to clear customs, deal w/baggage, and make the connecting flights?

On your way to Ixtapa you will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You will depart from Terminal B. On the return you will go through US Immigration and customs and security in Houston but should not have to claim and re-check your bags since you are on an international to international connection, but confirm that with United agents in Ixtapa and Houston. 1hr 50 mins should be enough time.

I'm planning to fly from Mexico City and connecting to a flight to Boston, both on United, with only 1 hour and 13 minutes. Will this work to clear customs and transfer?

That is 17 minutes below the minimum international to domestic connection time. I would look for a longer connection.

Any help is gratefully received. We're flying with United from LAX in to IAH (Terminal C) and then back out again to ZIH, Mexico (Terminal B, I think) We only have 1 hour and 7 minutes between the two flights. Will this be enough time, do you think?

Yes, that should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. Terminals B and C are connected inside security by the TerminaLink train.

arriving from Amsterdam at2:25PM flying out 1759 both flights with United. Is there time enough for the the boarder security? How long a wait is there normally (immigration)? Now do I get from one terminal to another? Thanks for help.

That should barely be enough time. The TerminaLink train connects all Terminals inside security.

I will be flying into IAH from Shreveport with 57 minutes connecting flight to STL, will I have enough time or will this be close? Will I have to change terminals?

That should be enough time. Both flights will likely be in Terminal B, but if they are not the TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security.

My wife and I are US citizens flying from Lima, Peru on June 6 with a final destination of Austin, TX. We will have a layover of 1 hr 35 min in IAH. Will this be enough time to pass through customs and make it to our connecting flight?

Yes, that should be enough time as long as your flight from Lima is on-time. If you do miss your connection due to a delay there are many flights from Houston to Austin you can be rebooked on.

I am arriving in IAH from Canada with a Connection to Costa Rica i have a 1:56 min layover, will i have to clear customs before my connection to Costa Rica? Or will i be able to just go directly to my gate after deplaning from Canada?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Canada and there is no US Exit customs, so all you have to do is just go from your arrival gate to your departure gate in Houston. You have plenty of time.
