  • Enough connection time

Hi The 12/23 I am flying from San Jose (Costa Rica) to Austin, Texas, with a connection in Houston (UA1097 to Houston and UA3468 to Austin). Connection time is only 1:37 - will it be enough? I arrive in Terminal E and depart from Terminal C. According to the plans I will arrive 1:53 pm i Austin and have to catch a plane at 6:15 towards Copenhagen with a connection in London (British Airways). In other words I have plenty of time in Austin but not much in Houston. Guess United Airlines has the responsibility to bring me all the way to Austin. They have another flight from Houston that arrives 3:28pm in Austin and would give me 3:10 in Houston to connect between the flights. Would it be a good idea to change my ticket so I extend my connection time in Houston and shorten my time in Austin or should I keep the tickets? I have to check in 30 min before departure in Houston and 1 hour before in Austin.

I have 1hour and 25 mins layover to connect from terminal C to terminal 2 (international) in Houston. Is it enough time? and how far is terminal 2 from C?

There is no Terminal 2. International flights on United leave from Terminal E and on other airlines from Terminal D. Both are directly connected to Terminal C.

I have a connecting flight in Houston on Dec 3rd with only 1 hour 17 minutes between flights. Will I have enough? Is there a way to look up what terminals I need to connect to/from this far in advance?

If your first flight is domestic that should be enough time. If you post flight numbers and cities I can help you with terminals

Hi, I am travelling from London (UA 96) via IAH to Albuquerque (UA 4090). The time between the flights is 1hr 22 minutes. Is this sufficient if I have only carry-on luggage with me and don't have to check in again?

Yes that should be enough time if your first flight is on-time

Yes that should be plenty of time. Even enough if you have to exit the secure area to get your emirates boarding pass.

  • Connection between Terminals for flight Newark-Houston-Guadalajara

Hi, I am traveling with United Air lines (UA 1482) from Newark Liberty International Airport through IAH to Guadalajara Mexico. I will arrive in IAH at 12:05 pm and like to catch the united flight(UA 4525 ) at 02:300 pm to Guadalajara. Is that enough time to pass immigration and reaching the flight? Thank you!

You do not have to go through US Immigration when leaving the US. On your way to GDL you only have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You will likely arrive in Terminal C and depart from Terminal B. They are connected inside security by the TerminaLink train. You have plenty of time.

Hi, I am traveling with United from Roatan, Honduras, RTB through IAH to FRA. I will arrive in IAH at 4:56p and like to catch the flight at 6:40p to FRA. Is that enough time to pass immigration and reaching the flight? Any special controls coming out of Honduras? I hope I can check my luggage through. Thank you!

Yes, that should be enough time. Since you are on an International to International connection you should not have to claim your bags to go through US Customs, but confirm that with the United agents.

Hello: I am travelling from YEG thru IAH to Miami - I will clear US immigration prior to departing YEG - I arrive into Terminal E and Depart to Miami from Terminal C - how long will it take to move between the terminals? Any suggestions would be helpful.

You will likely arrive in C because as you mentioned, you already cleared immigration. C and E are directly connected anyway. Your connection will take somewhere between 0 and 15 minutes.

We are flying in February from Austin to Salt Lake City. AUS-IAH UA4972, then IAH-SLC UA141. We'll have 48 minutes to change planes. Is that enough time?

Yes, that should be enough time. You will likely arrive in Terminal B and depart from Terminal C. The TerminaLink train connects them inside security. You don't have much time to spare in case of delays though.

  • baggage transfer from Costa Rica via Houston to Chicago

Does baggage checked in San Jose, Costa Rica go through immigration in Houston or Chicago if there is a 1 hr 16 mins between connections? Which terminal does UA1187 arrive in and UA1447 leave?

You will arrive in Terminal E, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. You will arrive in Terminal E and depart from Terminal E or C, likely C. Your connection time is 14 minutes below the minimum International->Domestic connection time at IAH, but you have a good chance of making it and if you do miss it, United has lots of IAH-ORD flights.

We will be coming from GCM to IAH on United 1495 at 7:46 PM and connecting to SFO on United 712 at 9 PM. What terminals will our arrivals/connections be in and is 1 hour 14 minutes enough time to get through Immigration and make our connection? We are US citizens. Thanks for your feedback!

You will arrive in Terminal E and depart from Terminal C or E (likely C). 1 hr 14 mins is 16 mins under the minimum connection time for International to Domestic. You can try to rebook but I doubt there will be a later flight to SFO.
