Is 1 hour enough time between Flights. Coming from London (LHR) I will be landing in terminal E and need to get to terminal B in one hour for my connection to El Paso. Is this enough time to go through customs, re-check my bag, and go through security again to get to terminal B?

NO, 1 hour is not sufficient time for an International to Domestic connection in Houston. 90 minutes is the bare minimum. You need to contact United or your Travel agent and get on a later flight to El Paso.

I am travelling from MIA to LHR with a 35 minute connection time at IAH. I am very concerned with the connection time. Can it be done? and if we miss our flight will United Airlines put us on the next flight for free? We are landing at terminal C and depart at terminal E.

Yes, it is possible but depends on the flight from Miami being on-time. Yes, if you miss it they will put you on the next available flight, but that may not be until the next evening.

Hi there. I'm going to be traveling through Houston in December with my two children. We arrive on NZ28 at 1:15pm in Terminal D, and then connect to UA2917 in Terminal A. I'm slightly concerned about the connection, as I've heard customs can have long wait times in Houston. (Plus, Air NZ will be very new to flying through Houston, so I can only hope that they'll be prepared for the extra influx of travelers.) We're US citizens, but my kids are both under 12. (I'm not sure if there's an age limit on the e-passport readers?) I was hoping that someone could tell us the best way of getting from terminal D to A, whether we'll need to go through security, and a rough guess at how much time it will take? Thanks for your help!! :-)

Yes, after you go through US Immigration and customs, everyone on a connection must go through security. I cannot flight a flight UA2917 - where are you flying to? There is no age limit to use the passport kiosks.

Thanks for your help. We're flying to St. Louis on a United Express flight.

  • 66 minutes to catch a flight?

Hi, i have been booked on United YYZ-IAH, and then catching a connecting IAH-QRO. WIll I have enough time to clear security? Will i have to claim bags and re-check in?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You will not have to claim your bags or go through security.

Flying out of Kansas City on United. Connecting to Air China flight in Houston. Will I need to claim bags and have them re-screened and re-checked onto the international flight? What about the return trip? Do I claim bags in Houston and go through customs and then board the domestic flight to Kansas City?

On your way to China you only need to go from your arrival gate in the B or C concourse to your departure gate in the D concourse on the Terminalink train. On your way back, in Houston you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and take the TerminaLink train or walk to your departure gate.

Hi: I m travelling from Mobile to Dallas. I have a transit at IAH airport. My first flight will land in Terminal B at IAH. The next connecting flight is at terminal C. The transit time is only 50 mins. What is the best way to go to terminal B to C in 30/40 mins? How long usually it takes? Thanks. Jahir

The TerminaLink train connects Terminal B and C inside security in less than 5 minutes.

I'm flying from Quito Ecuador to calgary, with a connection through Houston with United. I was supposed to have a 1 hour 40 min layover but because of a delayed flight I will be lucky to have an hour. I will need to get my bags and go through US customs in Houston. I have Nexus. Will I make my connection?

Since you have an International to International connection you should not have to claim your bags. You have a chance of making it. If not they have other ways of getting you to Calgary.

flight is from houston to guatemala city. i have 50 min when i land in houston. Does this give me enough time to catch my plane to Guatemala. United Airlines

As long as your first flight is domestic and on-time then, yes, that should be enough time.

  • Baggage Claim and Terminal D Check-in

Is baggage claim inside the secured area so you don't have to exit the secured area to change terminals? At Terminal D to you have to exit the secured area to check-in with our airline?

No baggage claims are in the secure area. ALL international arrivals must go through security after clearing customs if connecting to another flight.

Is baggage claim located in the secure area so you can transfer between terminals without leaving the secured area? Once at Terminal D do you have to leave the secured area to check-in with your airline?

No baggage claims are in the secure area. ALL international arrivals must go through security after clearing customs if connecting to another flight.

I am freaking out about if I will have enough time to catch the intercontinental flight or if i should book an earlier one with a 5 hour layover instead. Is it enough time?

It is enough time if your first flight is on-time. The TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security. However, it leaves very little time to spare in case of delays.

I was told that I would have to re check luggage at Houston even though both bought at same time and are on same ticket and both airlines are partners. What is correct answer and how difficult is it if required to recheck

That is incorrect, on your way to Istanbul your bags will be tagged through to IST and you will not have to claim them in Houston.

Hi, Is 45 minutes enough time to connect from C to B terminal? I am flying in from Newark and connecting to Leon, Mexico with 45 minutes between flights. Thanks.

That should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. The TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security.

I have a flight from McAllen to Houston and from Houston to Frankfurt (GER). Between MFEIAH and IAHFRA I have only 1h10min. Is this enough time to check in (I have business ticket)

You will be checked in for both flights if they were purchased together, in McAllen. All you should have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. the TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security.
