Hello, I am Ukrainian and will be flying from San Jose, Costa Rica to IAH on United, then plan to catch Lufthansa Airlines to Frankfurt 5 hours later. Do I need a transit VISA and do I need to collect my luggage?

I am a UK citizen flying with United Airlines Tampa to London Heathrow via Houston with a 90 min stopover. Do we need to go through passport control, baggage reclaim and security at Houston? Will the stopover time be sufficient? Do we need to change terminals?

There is no US Immigration or Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You will likely arrive in Terminal C and depart from Terminal E. They are connected inside security by a walkway.

I'M FLYING FROM DULLES TO HOUSTON AND CONNECT ON A FLIGHT TO PUERTO VALLARTA - UNITED'S FLIGHTS GIVE ME 1 HOUR TO ARRIVE AND MAKE MY CONNECTION-IS THAT ENOUGH TIME?

Yes, all you have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. That is enough time. All gates are connected inside security.

I have a flight Nassua to IAH with a connection to Boston. Only 50 minutes between flights. If I go through US Customs at Nassua do I have to go thru again at IAH? I'm already expecting to have to get from Terminal E to Terminal C in that time. Thanks,

No, you do not have to go through Immigration again in Houston - that is the point of preclearance. You will likely actually arrive in Terminal C. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

Hi I am a UK citizen and will be arriving in IAH at 14:20. I am looking to book an onward flight with United to Nicaragua which leaves at 17:35. Does this leave me with enough time to collect luggage, clear US immigration and check into United flight to Managua?

Yes, that should be enough time.

    Thank you

flying into houston from Puerto Vallarta on united and then onto Calgary do I have to pick up my suitcase and I have 90 mins till connection is that enough time? h

Since you are on an International to International connection you should not have to claim your bags in Houston but you will have to go through US Immigration, customs, and security. You have just enough time.

I am flying YVR-IAH-GIG (Rio de Janeiro) and have an 8 hour layover in Houston. Can I leave the airport and go into the city? I assume I'd need to clear security again to re-enter.

Yes, you can go into the city, but keep in mind that it's nearly an hour each way and not much to do when you get there.

I am flying Rio-Houston with a connection to Mexico City. Do I need to go through immigration in US?

Yes, in Houston you will go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security, but as long as both flights are on United you won't have to claim your bags since you are on an International to International connection.

We are flying on United from OKC to IAH arriving at 10:02am. Our connecting United flight leaves at 10:41am to CUN. Is that enough time to make the flight?

It's enough time but leaves no time to spare if the flight from OKC is late. However, United does have multiple later flights to Cancun that you can likely be rebooked on if you miss your connection.

I am flying from YVR to Buenos Aires with a stop in Denver and Houston with United. Do I clear customs in Denver?, and do I need to claim my checked baggage at Denver and Houston or is it forwarded for me?

You will preclear US immigration and customs in Vancouver. You will not see your bags again until you get to Buenos Aires. All you have to do in Denver and Houston is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

I am travelling to Las Vegas from New Orleans and transit via Houston. both flights are on United and it shows transit time of 35 mins - seems quite short to me - is this ok? its all shown on the same booking.

It is enough time if the first flight is on-time. All terminals and gates at IAH are connected inside security by the Skyway train. If you miss your connection, United has frequent flights from Houston to New Orleans.

1hr 20min layover in Houston, can I make the Phoenix flight on time or do I need to clear customs, immigration, etc. All on the same flight reservation, all United. If not, how much time do I need to get through everything to catch a connecting flight? Thanks for the help.

Yes, in Houston you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security, and to your departure gate. The minimum International to Domestic connection time in Houston is 90 minutes, and I recommend 2 hours.

I'm traveling from Las Vegas to Cancun via Huston and it shows that I have only 1hr 25 mins between flights, will this be enough time ? Are the flights in the same terminal or do we need to get a shuttle ? Thanks in advance.

If both flights are on United, you will arrive in Terminal C and depart from Terminal E. You can walk between them. You should have plenty of time.

I am traveling in februery drom honduras, connecting through houston ti vancouver canada, with 3 kids. My connecting time is 1:25 min, will i have time to go through immigration, costums and connect to my canada flight? It is all on the same airline

That is 5 minutes shorter than the recommended international to international connection time. It's possible, but everything has to go perfectly.

I'm flying from Phoenix to IAH then on to London Heathrow. My layover is only 52 minutes and I have to change terminals. Will that be enough time assuming my flight leaving Phoenix is on time? Thank you!

Yes, that should be enough time. You just have to walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
