Hi I'm Italian and I'm travelling from Guadalajara Mexico to IAH, have 1 hour 23 minutes for the flight to Europe all with United Airlines, is that enough time?

That is not realistically enough time for an International to International connection at IAH unless the flight from Guadalajara is early. You have to go through US Immigration, customs, and security.

I am flying United from Naples, Italy to Munich, to IAH. I have only a 1 hr. 40 min. layover before heading to Memphis. Is this going to be enough time to get through customs?

That should be just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

Hi, is 50 minutes enough time to arrive from Vancouver Canada (will already have cleared US customs in Vancouver) and get on a connecting flight to Santiago. Flying United. Thanks

Yes, all you have to do in Houston is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

Hi I am flying from South Africa to BJX (Mexico) via IAH. I will be arriving on an Emirates flight at 15:45 on a Saturday and the flight to BJX using United is departing at 19:10. would that be enough time to get through customs and get to the next flight? Thanks for the help

Yes, that should be enough time. Note that you will have to bring your bags yourself from Customs to the United check-in desk to re-check your bags if you purchased two separate reservations.

Hi I am a British citizen flying from cancun with U.A to Las Vegas with a stop over connection in Houston of 1hr 23mins is this long enough to make my connection I land at 1.07 pm and depart 2.30 pm

That is not realistically enough time. The minimum International to domestic connection time in Houston is 90 minutes with 2 hours recommended. They will rebook you on their next available flight to Vegas if you miss your connection, however, depending on the day of the week you are traveling that could be awhile as flights to Las Vegas are typically very full.

Thanks for your reply i arrive on a Sunday, I am not flying until next July do you recommend I try and change my connection now.

Chances are the schedule of your flights will change before next July anyway, so I would not pay a change fee at this point. If the schedule changes, you can call United and get changed to a longer connection without paying a change fee.

Thanks zap for your very helpful information fingers crossed for a schedule change

If I am on a United flight from Indianapolis to Houston then on to Belize City will 1 hour and 12 minutes be enough of a layover to make my next flight?

Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate. the Skyway train connects all terminals inside security.

I'm flying Auckland to Houston on Air NewZealand, then onto NYC - my flight from Auckland arrives at 12.30pm and I'm looking at a 2.20pm flight to NYC (American Airlines), will that be enough time to clear customs and make it to the gate?

Since American and Air New Zealand don't have an interline agreement, you can't simply drop your bags at the recheck desk. You'll have to walk to the American desk and check it in. This is not enough time, in all likelihood. You need at least 2h10m in this situation to safely guarantee that you'll make the flight. I reccomend that you choose a later American flight, or fly United, as they do have an interlude agreement with Air New Zealand, so you would only need 1h45m for the connection.

    thank you!

looking at a flight from seattle to houston, the connection is 42 minutes, united is airline, is that enough time??

Yes, that is enough time if the first flight is on-time. It obviously doesn't leave much time to spare if the first flight is delayed.

we are flying from Toronto to Quito. Air Canada via Houston connecting to United is 2hr 40 minutes enough time. We clear customs in Toronto.

Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do in Houston on your way to Quito is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Skyway connects all terminals inside security.

  • Can I get from terminal C to terminal E in 45 minutes

Hi, camp leaders have booked my return flight. It is a interconnecting flight to Houston terminal C. I have to get to terminal E in 45 minutes before my flight departs to England. Is it possible to get from terminal C to terminal E to make my flight home. Also my suitcase does that automatically get transferred to the flight home and do I have to go through border security or not. This is my first time doing interconnecting flights. Any advice would be great. Thank You

I forgot to mention that I am flying from Orlando to Houston. Then Houston to London.

That is possible. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. There is no US Immigration when leaving the US. It obviously leaves very little time to spare if the flight from Orlando is delayed.

I am arriving on UAL Flt.1958 from SFO at 3:04 pm. UAL Flt 854 leaves at 4 pm. Will I make it? This schedule change just happened today.

It's possible, all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

Even if the 2nd flight is international, to LIMA. First flight arrives from San Francisco.

And on the return, arriving UA from BOGOTA at 1:10 and connecting to LAX at 2:45 on UA (same reservation), will I make it even with customs? I will have secured my GOES authorization.

Thanks so much for knowing so much!! I do obsess about this stuff.

There is no US Customs when leaving the US. On your return you have just enough time, having Global Entry helps.
