  • Is layover time enough from Austin-Houston-Bogota?

Coming from Austin to Houston (final destination Bogota), is layover time of 50 minutes enough (in Hou)?

Yes, all you have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate if both flights are on the same reservation.

We are flying into IAH on AirNZ arriving 12.40. We want to catch a flight to Mexico City on UA (departing 15.44) or Interjet (departing 16.50). Which do you recommend for a safe connection time? Would obviously prefer to take the earlier flight if possible.

    Either should work.

Hi there, I am trying to get tickets from MSY to IAH (on UA) to connect to a flight to AKL (on NZ) that leaves at 10.15pm. The latest one I can get in arrives at 8.37pm - will I be able to make that connection considering that I have to pick up bags and check them back in? They will be on separate tickets, I will have checked luggage and I am *G (if that helps me in any way). Otherwise the next one arrives at 6.15pm, plenty of time to connect - any point in hopping out of the terminal rather than sitting in a United Club? Thanks in advance!

The 8:37 arrival works if you get your bags checked through to Auckland. If you show your ANZ confirmation to the United Agent in New Orleans they should be able to do that for you (but there's no guarantee).

Flight from Guadalajara arriving at 8:50 am connecting to a flight departing at 10:15 am to Chicago. Will that be enough time to clear out customs? Will I have to recheck my baggage again? Is the airport (lines) too saturated by that time?

Yes, you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate. I recommend at least 2 hours.

Hello, Travelling from Belize through Houston and connecting to Denver with 1 hour and 20 minutes between flights. We are Nexus/GOES card holders. Would this be enough time to make the Denver flight? Or at least possible?

With Global Entry it's possible if you don't have checked bags. Note that if you only have Nexus and not Global Entry then you can't use the expedited line coming from Belize.

  • SCL - IAH - ORD Connection Time

Flight from Santiago scheduled to arrive at IAH 5:50 AM on a Friday. Then have connecting domestic flight to ORD with a 7:10 AM departure. Is this enough time? Will lines be shorter because it is early in the morning?

Yes, that is enough time if everything goes smoothly. Lines should be relatively short, but some flights from Brazil also arrive near that time.

  • Terminals D&E

Are Terminals D& E connected? I am needing to get currency exchanged before my flight to New Zealand. We show to be flying out of terminal D with all exchanges in terminal E...

There should be some in D, but D and E are both sides of the same building so you can walk over to E if necessary.

    Thanks for the information

  • Arriving from Montreal, going to Guadalajara with connection in Housto

Hello, I'm checking for plane tickets and I want to go from Montréal to Guadalajara. There is a connection at Houston and the time between flights is 1h15. I will only have a cabin bag, no big luggage. Also I am a canadian permanent resident with french passeport. Flight from MTL to Houston is with Air Canada and from Houston to Guadalajara is with United. Is that enough time? Thank you

Yes, that is enough time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Montreal so all you have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

Thank you for your fast answer

Hello i am looking at United 3614 (DFW-IAH) and then United 5 (IAH-LHR). I have only flown once and that flight did not have a layover, is a 1hr48min layover enough for a first timer?

Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do in Houston on the way to London is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

My husband and I will be flying United to IAH and then transferring to AirFrance for an outbound flight to Florence. I have not booked the United flight to IAH yet. How much time should we allow to get into IAH and then check in to our flight to Pairs/Florence? We just flew in last week from Mexico last week and it took about 1.5 hours to get through customs and get our bags. Would 2 hours be okay if we are changing airlines? What about on our return? Thanks for your help!

There is no US Immigration and Customs when leaving the US. However, since it's two separate reservations I recommend at least 2.5 hours. On the return I would recommend at least 3 hours.

You do not have to go through security again. The Skyway train connects all terminals inside security.

Hi, I am going to be flying from Berlin to Newark and then to Houston. In Houston I have less than an hour to catch a flight to Mexico City (all with United). Is this doable? Do I have to pick up my baggage and give it again at any airport? (I have a Mexican passport with global entry)

All you have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time if the flight from Newark is on-time.

I arrive at IAH on United at 6:36 pm and my flight to New Zealand leaves at 8:55 pm from Terminal D. Will I have enough time to get our luggage and re-check in? On the way back, same issue, getting into IAH from AKL at 12:40 pm Terminal D, leaving at 2:50 pm on United flight to Austin. We have global entry. The ticket from Air New Zealand says final check in time is 2 hrs before departure. Thanks, Lainey

I ended up changing my flight after looking at this so I have more time on arrival. I can't figure out how to delete this post. Thanks.

Hello, I European and I will arrive in Houston at 3:30pm from Manchester. In Houston i will have to take the next flight to Monterrey at 6pm. I will have to recheck my bags as I have to change the airline. Will that be enough time?

There are no nonstops from Manchester to Houston. Where are you stopping first?

The flight is Singapore Airlines flight SQ52. It is nonstop from Manchester.

In that case it's barely enough time if everything goes perfectly.
