Is 67 minutes of a layover in Houston too short a connection time from the San Fran-Houston flight and Houston-Guadalajara flight? All flights are with United. I am travelling on an Irish passport, with hand luggage only. Will I need to change terminals? Will I need to clear US customs in Houston? Will I need to exit and re-enter security checking in Houston? Thank you.

Your flight to Guadalajara may depart from terminal B or C. You will arrive in terminal C or E. All terminals are connected inside security by the Skyway train, formerly the TerminaLink train. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. There is no US customs when exiting the US. You should have enough time.

I have 90 mins to make my connection with a UK passport. Can I do it? Handluggage only.

With hand luggage only that should be enough time.

I was the last on the plane and ran from customs to terminal A via train. It took over 60 mins from plane to other side of customs..

I am arriving from Cancun and connecting to Frankfurt. Luggage is checked all the way. Will I have to pass through US immigration or can In just walk between terminals E and D? Will 1:25 hours be enough?

You will have to go through US Immigration and security. Your bags should be checked through. You should have barely enough time if everything goes smoothly.

Thanks. I will keep my fingers crossed then.

I have 1 hour 39 minutes to arrive, go through customs, and get to the SFO flight. Is this enough time, and do I need to pick up my luggage, and recheck it for the San Fran flight?

Your bags will be tagged through to San Francisco, but in Houston you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then immediately re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate.

Thanks. So, how long does it normally take to go though customs? Is there a recommended amount of time? I think I read below of 90 minutes...

Yes, you should have just about enough time. if you miss your connection due to a late inbound flight, United has lots of flights from IAH to San Francisco.

    Thanks again!

coming in domestic with checked bags and leaving EVA-intl out of D terminal, so will have to move my own bags over (separate tickets). will have a bit over an hour; what transport is avail from b-baggage to D checkin?

The Inter-terminal train, recently renamed the Subway, connects all terminals outside security. You barely have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

In getting to Nashville from Calgary on United Airlines, I have a layover in Houstan. I have 58 minutes to make my connection flight to Nashville. Is 58 minutes enough time?

Yes, that should be enough time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Calgary. All you have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Skyway train connects all terminals inside security.

I'm looking to book a flight from Chicago to Belize with a layover in Houston. Is 75 minutes long enough to make the connecting flight? Do I have to go through security or customs?

All you have to do in Houston is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. All gates in Houston are connected inside security and there is no US Customs when leaving the US.

My flight # is ua3734 & SFO to Houston is ua378

That should be enough time. The TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside securrity.

I m not canadian and usa , i m holding student visa in Canada. so do i need to immigration step when i just get to connection flight...T.T(i have esta usa via _ so visa no problem)

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. In Houston all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate in Terminal C or E to your departure gate in Terminal E. You have enough time if your flight from Vancouver is on-time.

Hello Looking at a flight from CVG, arrives 0833, departs for MBJ at 1015. Will this be enough time? Will both terminals be close? Traveling with small child.

That should be plenty of time. The TerminaLink connects all terminals inside security.

My son will be arriving from AEX on United 4098 and heading to PIT on united 5254. Not sure what terminals (flight is not until 11/19/15) Is 46 mins enough time for domestic flights?

Yes, that should be enough time if the first flight is on-time. He will arrive in Terminal A or B and depart from Terminal B. The TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security.

Thanks a lot. I was a little worried.

HI, I arrive 2:16 PM in IAH (ETA) and my flight departure 3:35PM to LHR. Is it even possible to catch an international flight when i have to redrop my luggage? OR is my luggage transited automatically ?

IAH does have ITI baggage where you should not have to claim your baggage if you are connecting between two international United flights. However. That is still a very difficult connection even if you don't have to claim your bags. I would contact your travel agent or United and request an earlier flight from MEX or a later flight to LHR.

I am coming in from IND on United to get to MTY (Mexico) flight (all United). Is 38 min enough for connection? Should I go through the immigration/custom at IAH or it should be done at IND?

It's enough time as long as your first flight is on-time. There is no US Immigration or Customs when departing the US.

Is 80 minutes enough time coming in from POS on United to go through customs/immigration and get to CMH flight (United) with only carry-on bags? Thanks!

With carry-on only it's probably possible. It's 10 minutes less than the recommended minimum though.

  • 1h 49m transfer from LHR to SJD (Cabo) via IAH - enough time?
    Oct 22, 2015

I'm booked to fly from London Heathrow to Cabo via Houston on Saturday 7th November. Both legs are with United. Scheduled arrival time is 14:20 at Houston Terminal E on UA920 (although checking flightaware I can see the last 10 days of averages trending a little bit earlier than that). Scheduled departure from Houston is 16:09 also from Terminal E (on UA1155 which apparently is a code that's being used for multiple routes..?) Is that enough time? I'm aware that the US doesn't have "in transit" zones like the rest of the world, so I'll have to basically clear immigration then go through passport control leaving. There isn't a later direct flight to Cabo that day (as far as I can see), so I want to avoid a night in an airport hotel if I miss the flight. United themselves gave this as a possible route - are they right or wrong?

It is possible as long as your flight from London arrives on-time.
