Arriving at 11:38am to IAH (from Canada) y taking the connecting fligh to Mexico at 12:46pm, is it enough time to make it? Should go trough inmigration once I arrive to Houston? Thanks

Where in Canada are you coming from? If the airport you are coming from has pre-clearance, you will go through US Immigration at your origin. If not you will go through at IAH.

Traveling from YYC, and in YYC there is a pre-clearance for travelling to US.

Then all you will have to do in IAH is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate in IAH. All terminals are connected inside security by the TerminaLink train.

GREAT NEWS! THANK YOU FOR QUICK FOLLOW =)

  • Connection time enough?

Please advice if I have a flight arriving 1605 at IAH terminal E and have connecting flight at 1735 terminal A ..is there enough time for immigration ? Please help

Are you flying United? Yes, that should barely be enough time if your inbound flight is on-time.

You have plenty of time: after recheck of your bags at recheck counter proceed to the Arrivals Lobby, which has an escalator down to the Inter-Terminal Train taking you to your connecting terminal A.

  • United assure me they do not book unless enough time between flights.

United assure me that 1.5 hours between an incoming flight from Costa Rica and a domestic flight back to Cleveland is sufficient. Looking at other feedback this seems almost impossible. Has anyone done it?

It's not impossible, but it's tough. If you do miss your connection United has a lot of flights between IAH and Cleveland that you can be rebooked on.

  • Terminal B-E

I have client flying into Houston from Toronto landing in terminal B, then flyingt to Quito from terminal E. The connection time in 57 minutes. 1. Will she have enough time? I know she will clear US customs in Toronto. 2. How do you get from Terminal B-E? Is there a train - can she be met as she is unable to walk quickly. Thanks

Terminals B and E are connected inside security by the TerminaLink train. Yes, she will pre-clear US Immigration in Toronto. If she needs wheelchair assistance she can request it from United by calling them.

I am looking to travel on United Airlines from Tampa to Houston then take another United flight to Narita Japan. The connection time from landing in Houston to departing to Narita is one hour and 17 minutes. Is that enough time. Will I arrive and depart from Terminal E?

You will likely arrive in C and depart from E (although there's a chance you could arrive in E). You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time as C and E are connected directly.

  • Layover time to short?

I arrive on a 4:58 to Terminal A and depart at 5:40 in Terminal E. Do I have enough time to make this flight? Both flights are with the same airline.

If your first flight is on-time you'll have enough time, barely. The TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security.

  • Unrealistic Connection Time?

I booked a flight on United (using miles) travelling from Cancun to San Diego with a layover in IAH. I am travelling with my wife and two small children. When I originally booked the ticket (several months ago) I had a layover of just over 2 hours. In the last week, United changed the schedule and put us on new flights giving us an hour and ten minutes. I checked United's schedules and if we miss our connection, we will be stuck in IAH overnight. Considering customs/immigration/kids/luggage, is this remotely possible? Also, do I have any recourse with United as far as changing my flight? Thanks!

Yes. Since there was an involuntary schedule change you can call united and ask for an earlier flight out of Cancun or a connection in another city. 70 mins on any intl-domestic connection is pushing what is possible.

  • Is this connection possible

I am looking at booking a trip to Cancun that has a 40 minute layover in Houston (IAH) from Calgary (YYC). Is it possible to make it through in that time. The flight arrives in Houston at 6:15pm and leaves at 6:55pm. Do I need to go through customs?

You will go through US Immigration in Calgary. As such in Houston you will just have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You should arrive in Terminal C and depart from Terminal E, which are connected directly. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

  • TerminaLink Train

I am so uneasy with the terminal trains, Can I get on the wrong train or does it go in a continuous link where I would always get to the right terminal if I stay on long enough?

There's only one TerminaLink Train route and it goes to the stations in alphabet order. When it gets to the end, it turns around and goes the other way.

  • 34 Minute Connection Time, is it legal and will we make it?

We have booked a flight arriving Feb 1st from YYC at 1:44pm connecting in IAH on United and departing for Cancun on United at 2:18pm. Is this even a possible connection?

Yes, it's possible, you will preclear US Immigration in Calgary and arrive in Terminal C and depart from Terminal E which are directly connected. It's not an easy connection by any means but it's certainly possible. Also, United does have later flights to Cancun if you miss your connection.

    Thanks Zap, that certainly helps!

  • Walk elderly parent to the gate

Can I get a "gate pass" and walk my elderly mother to the terminal gate?

Probably yes. You have to request it from the check-in counter of her airline.

  • Yyc connection in iah to mco
    Jan 3, 2014

Flying united airlines from yyc to iah with a connection to mco have a 2hr layover. Traveling with 2 small children and a stroller will this be enought time to make the connection and get through all necessary security checkpoints

Yes, you will pre-clear US Immigration in Calgary. You will not have to go through any security checkpoints in Houston. Both of your flights, if on United, will likely be in Terminal C.

Yes both flights are booked with united as well we do the same in reverse on the way back but with 1 hr layover arriving both time around 8am to iah

The procedure will be the same on the reverse. You will go through Canadian immigration when you get back to Calgary.

  • Transferring from one United Fl to another United
    Jan 3, 2014

I am a senior citizen and have only flown alone only 1 other time. I have to transfer at IAH. Arriving from Orlando on United and going to Omaha on United. Can I walk to new gate or will I have to take a train. Please help

You will probably arrive in Terminal C. Your Omaha flight will depart from Terminal A or Terminal B, so you will have to take the TerminaLink train, which runs inside security.

  • Fly in from Love Field and bound for Buenos Aries
    Jan 3, 2014

We will arrive @ 820 PM from Love Field via UA and need to get on UA flight to Buenos Aries @ 900 pm. How and where shall we go/do about this since we've never been to IAH. Thanks.

Most DAL-IAH flights arrive in Terminal B, but it could also arrive in A. You will depart from Terminal E. Take the TerminaLink train, which runs inside security from your arrival Terminal to Terminal E. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

  • Terminal B to Terminal C

Arrive at 8:20 pm at Terminal B; Depart at 9:15 at Terminal C. Should we walk (run) it or risk waiting for shuttle? Thanks

You cannot run from Terminal B to C inside security. They are separate buildings. However, the TerminaLink train connects them inside security and is the much better option.
