  • Getting from terminal A to E

Hi, I am arriving from Las Vegas at 7.30 pm in terminal A in Spirit. I need to depart from terminal E in United (international flight). Is 2 hours enough to pick my bags and check in for the second flight?. How long does moving from A->E take?

That will be difficult, but it's possible. You will claim your bags from Spirit then take the Subway train from A to E and re-check your bags with United and go through security. You barely have enough time if everything goes smoothly.

Feb 20 - will originally be leaving from Ottawa to Newark, Then arriving at IAH 31min before connecting to flight to Roatan. All with United. Is 31 min enough to change terminals and pass customs.

It's possible as you will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Ottawa and there is no US Customs when departing the US. All you have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Note that however, if you miss your connection there is a 12:52 PM flight to Roatan. if you are already on the 12:52 flight then you will be stuck in Houston until the next day.

Thank you for that answer. In Houston however, how quickly can one expect to change terminals. Assuming we'd arrive from Newark, we would go from domestic to international, which may be far apart, no?

You will arrive in Terminal C or E and depart from Terminal E. It's possible to get between your two gates in 10 minutes or less.

  • TUC-IAH-LGA 40 min connection with terminal change?

Hi, I am flying TUC-IAH-LGA on UA with a 40 min connection on Feb 7 with terminal change - is this enough time to make the connection easily with carry on only?

Is "TUC" Tucson, Arizona? (TUC is Tucuman, Argentina, the code for Tucson is TUS). It's not an easy connection, but it is doable without checked bags. The Skyway train connects all terminals inside security.

  • What gate am I arriving at?

Hi, I have a connecting flight in Houston. I'm flying Spirit and the first is flight 315 and arrives to Houston at 7:42pm but it does not tell me what terminal this flight will arrive at. My connecting flight is flight 498 to SJO and departs at 8:30pm from terminal A. Is there any way to know which terminal I will be arriving at beforehand? I'm really worried I wont make the connecting flight. Thank you.

Also, my flight is on Jan 16. Thanks

Both flights use Terminal A. All Spirit flights are in Terminal A except International arrivals.

Hi, I will arrive on terminal e and switch to c on a flight from Guatemala via Houston and later Newark to Spain. Do i need to go through Immigration and therefore need an esta? Thanks a lot!

Yes, on your connections you will go through US Immigration and customs and need to complete ESTA. There is no sterile international transfer at any airport in the US.

Hi my daughter is flying from Toronto to Nicaraugua throught Houston with only 1hr and 59 min layover. She has to switch terminals. Does she have to go through customs and will she have enough time

She will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Toronto on her way to Nicaragua. All she has to do in Houston is go from her arrival gate to her departure gate. The Skyway train connects all terminals inside security. She has enough time.

    Thank You

Hello, I am headed to McAllen, TX and I am wondering which terminal I will depart from in the morning?

Houston-McAllen flights can use Terminal A or B - you can check flight status on united.com to get the exact terminal and gate for your flight.

Hi. I will be arriving in Houston at 7.53pm from Las Vegas, before heading onto another flight to London, leaving at 9pm. Bags will be moved from flight to flight, but will I have to go through customs or anything when connecting, and as a result, should this give me enough time? Thank you!

There is no US Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate in Terminal C to your departure gate in Terminal E. You should have enough time as long as your first flight is on-time.

    Thank you very much indeed!

Traveling on united in march from houston to DC. arrrive at 1206 pm and depart at 1 pm. Says there is a terminal change. is this possible to make this connection with a terminal change?

Where are you flying to Houston from? All terminals at IAH are connected inside security by the Skyway train.

From Tucson to Houston to DC

Yes, then in that case you should have enough time.

do I have enough time to make it with just carry on and no checkin bags? I also bought the Premier Access from United if this helps thank you

Yes, with no checked bags I think you can make this. Houston has one-stop immigration if you don't have checked bags, so that will also help you save time.

I Will be arriving Houston AirPort (from Ams, netherlands) at 13.50 terminal E. I have 1h52 to switch to my connected flight ( also with United) at terminal C, that leaves at 15.42 Do I have to take my checked bagage or does the AirPort take care of it? And most important can I catch my flight or is it too little time? Do I have to go through immigration or is it connected? Hope we can catch the flight, ideas/ tips are welcome!

You will go through US Immigration, Customs, and security. You do not have to claim your bags because you are on an International to International connection. You should have enough time.

I'm arriving from Mexico to Houston at terminal E. I have 2 hrs connection time to get my flight to Chicago from terminal C. Do I have to go through immigration and customs? Do I need to pick up my check in in Houston and re check it again? Is 2 hrs enough time?

Yes, in Houston you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, and go through security and to your departure gate. You should have enough time.

I'm planning on flying to Miami from LAS in August. Will my luggage be forwarded straight through to MIA airport or will I have to collect it and check it in again in Houston.

If both tickets are together on the same reservation on United then you won't have to do anything with your bags in Houston.
