  • Is 90min enough time to move from terminal A to Terminal D
    Feb 17, 2016
I arrive from Canada at terminal A making a connecting flight at terminal D. I have 90min. do I need to clear any security checks or is it straight from A to D.

If both tickets are on the same reservation you can go straight from A to D on the Skyway train inside security.

  • DTW --> IAH --> BZE (Domestic arrival --> International Departure)

I will have 1hr 10mins to make my International connection flight to Belize after arriving domestically from Detroit. I am flying United and will have checked bag. Two questions: 1) Do I have to reclaim my checked bag in Houston and go through security again, and 2) Do I have enough time to comfortably make my international flight? Thank you for your input.

If both flights are on United all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Skyway train connects all terminals inside security. There is no US Customs when leaving the US. You should have plenty of time.

1/6/2016 Lhr iah Rsw arrived iah ua4 at 6:15 on time, but missed connection to ua1588 which boarding ended at 7:15 due to the walk, immigration, bag collect and drop, customs, tsa, and walk to next gate.was this a legal connection time 1hr?

No, 1 hour is not a legal connection time. The minimum International to Domestic connection time at IAH is 90 minutes, with 2 hours recommended. Whoever sold you that ticket should not have.

Arriving to IAH on American from PHX and have 98 minuites between flights to catch flight on United to CTG, CO. Enough time if I'm a slow walker? Should I request assistance to next terminal?

Do you have checked bags? Were all your tickets purchased on the same reservation? If not I don't think you have enough time.

Doing carry on. And yes tickets purchased on the same reservation. What do you think?

Then I think you can probably make it.

i am a Nigerian arriving IAH airport Terminal D with Lufthansa from Frankfurt by 1405 h of 2nd march 2016 . PLS HOW DO I CONNECT TO TERMINAL A TO BOARD DELTA TO KANSAS CITY

After you clear US Customs, if your bags are not checked through to Delta, you will have to take the SubWay train to Terminal A to re-check them at the Delta check-in counter and go through security there.

I will arrive at IAH from SFO and have one hour to connect to my flight to Peru. How much time does it take to get from the domestic terminal to the international terminal.

You will arrive in Terminal C or E and depart from Terminal E. It shouldn't take you more than 15 minutes to get between gates.

I am flying United, arriving terminal C at 6:25 am, and departing terminal E at 7:20 am to Belize City: layover is 55 minutes. Do I need to go through immigration? Is that enough time?

US. Citizen who will be flying from Puerta Vallartato with a layover in Houston and final destination Tampa. Do I have to go through customs in Houston or Tampa?

In Houston you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate in Terminal C.

Hi there! I am a US citizen, flying from San Jose Cabo airport in Mexico through Houston, on to Liberia in Costa Rica. I have a two hour layover in IAH. And it is all through one airline, United. Do you think this will be enough time? Will I need to go through customs? Or can I simply go directly to the gate that'll take me to Costa Rica?

You will go through US Immigration, customs, and security. You should not have to claim your bags since you are on an international to international connection. You have enough time.

    Cheers!! Thank you!

One more question :) Will I need to leave security and go back through another security/TSA line? Or just through customs, etc....straight to my departure gate?

You will have to go through security.

Hello, I am considering flying from Toronto (Air Canada Jazz) to Lima (United) with a 1h23m stopover in Houston. Will this be enough time to make the flight? Is it be necessary to go though security/customs and or baggage claim in Houston? Thanks.

You will preclear US immigration and customs in Toronto. All you have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate in Terminal A to your departure gate in terminal E. The skyway train connects all terminals inside security

Hello, I am Ukrainian and will be flying from San Jose, Costa Rica to IAH on United, then plan to catch Lufthansa Airlines to Frankfurt 5 hours later. Do I need a transit VISA and do I need to collect my luggage?

Yes, you will need a transit visa but since you are on an International to International connection you should not have to claim your luggage.

I am a UK citizen flying with United Airlines Tampa to London Heathrow via Houston with a 90 min stopover. Do we need to go through passport control, baggage reclaim and security at Houston? Will the stopover time be sufficient? Do we need to change terminals?

There is no US Immigration or Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You will likely arrive in Terminal C and depart from Terminal E. They are connected inside security by a walkway.

Yes, all you have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. That is enough time. All gates are connected inside security.

I have a flight Nassua to IAH with a connection to Boston. Only 50 minutes between flights. If I go through US Customs at Nassua do I have to go thru again at IAH? I'm already expecting to have to get from Terminal E to Terminal C in that time. Thanks,

No, you do not have to go through Immigration again in Houston - that is the point of preclearance. You will likely actually arrive in Terminal C. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

Yes, that should be enough time.
