  • 30 minute connection

Our flight from CLE arrives @ 10:51 am and our connecting flight to Huatulco is @ 11:26. Is this enough time for international flight connection?

Yes, if your first flight is on-time that should be barely enough time. However, as you may know, there's only one flight to Huatulco daily, so you'll be stuck in Houston for 24 hours if you miss your connection.

and I now only have 56 minutes to make my connecting flight. I will be coming from Tulsa (United, terminal B) and going to Frankfurt (Lufthansa, terminal D) will that be enough time? And do I have to check in/pick up my luggage etc or can I just got straight to my gate? :)

You can go straight to your gate via the TerminaLink train. You should have enough time if your flight from Tulsa is on-time.

Thanks for the quick answer! :)

  • How much time between terminal A and B I have 15 minutes to get there
    Feb 6, 2015

I have to pick up someone.

Via the three ways you can get between the terminals - The TerminaLink train (inside security), the Inter-Terminal Train (outside security), and driving. I'd say all take 10-15 minutes.

Flying in from St. Loius arriving at 4:53 pm. Connection to Baton Rouge leaves at 5:37 pm. Do I have enough time to catch the connection?

Yes, that should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. There's a good chance both flights will be in Terminal B.

I have a flight from little rock to Houston and then Houston to edmonton, canada. Will I have to claim my checked bags between my flights.

No you will not. There is no US customs when leaving the US. All you have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security.

Is it possible to walk from terminal c to terminal b

No you cannot. The TerminaLink train connects them inside security and the Inter-Terminal Train connects them outside security.

  • 45 minutes long enough to clear customs, catch domestic flight
    Feb 2, 2015

United made a flight schedule change, and has now left us with only 45 minutes to clear customs (coming in from Frankfurt) and catch our domestic flight. Is this doable on a Saturday afternoon?

    This flight is in July.

No, that is impossible. Call United or your travel agent to reject the schedule change and make them find you something else.

  • United connections for older couple

I am booking a trip for an older couple who are concerned about flight change in Houston. Traveling in May 2015 on a Friday from Orlando to Portland Oregon on UA Flight # 1026 arriving IAH 8:02am, connecting to UA #1175 to Portland with one hour between flights. I would think these flights would be in the same terminal but would like to confirm for these folks' peace of mind.

Yes, both flights will likely be in Terminal C. As long as their first flight is on-time they should have enough time.

Flying from LHR thru IAH to MID. Have 83 minutes to connect. Is this enough time? Do I need to go thru security in IAH?

That's a bit of a difficult connection. You will arrive in Terminal E, go through US Immigration and Customs, then go to the departure level and through security and to your departure gate which will also be in E. Since you are on an International to International connection you should not have to claim your bags but confirm that with the United agents in London and Houston.

Is that possible to walk from terminal C to Terminal D at IAH without taking the terminalLink train?

    Yes it is.

  • customs on a layover?

I am flying from puebla mexico to newark nj with a stop over in houston for 1.5 hours. I am wondering if I will have to go through passport control, pick up my luggage, and go thru customs all in houston and then go through security all over again? Will 1.5 hours be enough? Does my bag get checked all the way through to Newark? Thank you for any info

Yes, you will have to do all those things in Newark. Your bag will be tagged through to newark in Mexico but you will still have to claim it in Houston to go through US Customs. The re-check desk is immediately after customs.

From your experience, is 1.5 hours a long enough layover in IAH to get thru passport control, get bag, go thru customs, and then recheck, and get to the next terminal/gate? Thank you

    It should be enough time.

  • MCO to YYC in 35 minutes with 3 kids 6 and under?
    Jan 27, 2015

We're Canadians on the way home from MCO to YYC on Apr. 8 via UA1026 and UA1279 but only have a 35 minute connection in IAH. Anyone know if we're likely to need to change terminals for that connection, and what the likelihood would be of making it in time, with a pregnant wife and 3 kids, 6 and under? Thanks for the advice!

Both of your flights will likely be in Terminal C or E, which are connected inside security. You have enough time as long as your first flight is on-time.

Jan 29th FLT UA 1447 from Cgy to Houston and then connection FLT UA1599 to RSW/No Fort Myers ( 1 hr 19mins connecting time ). What terminals do we arrive in and then depart from and do we have to rush to make connection ? thx

You will likely both arrive and depart in C. You will have plenty of time if your first flight is on-time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Calgary.

    Thanks for the info !!!
