Hi, I am planning a trip to Costa Rica with the following flights: 1. London Heathrow (LHR) - San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO): with Austrian/United – 2hr 34 mins layover at Newark (EWR) 2. San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO) to London Heathrow (LHR): with United – 1 hr 58 mins layover at Houston (IAH) Is this enough time for an international connection? Apart from going through security, do I need to pick up luggage, go through customs (and) check the luggage again? Thanks for your help!

Both ways that should be enough time. On your way to Costa Rica you will have to pick up and re-check your baggage but on the way back you should not. Both ways you will have to go through US Immigration, customs, and security.

I am arriving 2.54pm from New Orleans with United Airways and need to connect with 3.55pm flight to Mexico City, also with United. Do I have enough time for the transfer?

Yes, that should be enough time. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate in Terminal B or C to your departure gate in Terminal E. The TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security and C is directly connected to E.

    Tks - Fingers crossed then!

Im arriving from Amsterdam to catch a domestic flight to LAX in IHA. Do i need to claim my lugagge? Is 1 hour enough?

Arriving IAH from LAX - Terminal A via American Airlines - connecting flight to LHR is British Airways Terminal D. With changing airlines, will I need to claim my bags, go trough customs, re-check bags, and go through security again before going to Terminal D ?

If both tickets were purchased on the same reservation you do not have to claim your bags or go through security. just take the TerminaLink train from Terminal A to Terminal D.

Hi, I'm flying in from Singapore to Orlando and a stopover in IAH. Will be arriving @ 2.45 Terminal E and connecting domestic flight to Orlando Terminal C at 3.55pm with all issuing tickets by United Airlines. Do I have ample time to connect my domestic flight after doing all the rituals. Kindly advise Do I have

No, 1 hr 10 minutes is not sufficient. I would try to get a later flight to Orlando.

Yes, that is possible if the first flight is on-time. You request a wheelchair by calling United.

hi I fly from Managua to new York via houstan. my flight lands in houstan at 1145 am then my flight out of houstan too new York leaves at 1pm. is this enough time to collect baggage and clear customs?

That is 15 minutes shorter than the minimum time and about 45 minutes shorter than what I recommend for an International to Domestic connection in Houston. You should contact United or your travel agent and request a later flight to New York.

  • 90 minutes connect a flight to Lagos from SFO

I am connecting a flight from SFO to LOS at 10pm and have 90 minutes layover. I am arriving in Terminal C and departing Terminal E. However, I want to say hello to a friend for less than 5 minutes at IAH. Can I make it? Where would be the best location to ask her to wait for me since I have to pass through security again?

The best location would probably be near the security checkpoint in Terminal E, so I would walk to terminal E, exit security there, meet your friend, and go back through security.

Thanks! But you do think I can make it within that time, right?

As long as your flight from SFO is on-time I think you can do it.

    Thank you!

We are flying into Houston at 12:04 on UA352 and connecting to UA1252 to Orlando at 1:10. How can I find out what terminals we will be flying in and out of, and is this a realistic layover time? We are 2 adults and don't mind booking it, but neither of us have flown into this airport, so I am starting to worry about such a short layover. Thanks!

Both flights will likely be in Terminal C. There is a small chance one will be in Terminal E, but it is directly connected to C. This is definitely a doable connection.

    Thank You!

Hi! I have a flight landing from Chicago (ORD), have a 56 minute layover before my flight to Belize (BZE) departs. Will I have enough time to get to the international terminal? Will I need to go through security again?

No, you will not have to go through security. All you will have to do is walk from your departure gate in C and your departure gate in E. they are directly connected to each other. You should have enough time if your flight from Chicago is on-time.

hello....arriving from LAS to IAH then connecting to YYZ (Toronto). Do we need to go through customs in IAH? We have 55 layover time.

No, there is no US Customs when departing the US. All you have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The TerminaLink Train connects all terminals inside security. You have enough time. you will go through Canadian immigration and customs when you get to Toronto.

I have a flight arriving from Calgary, Canada at Terminal A. I have an hour and 45 minute layover. My connecting flight is at Terminal E to San salvador. Do I have enough time and what is the best way to get from Terminal A to terminal E?

The TerminaLink train connects all gates and terminals inside security. You just have to take the train from A to E. You will go through US Immigration and Customs in Calgary. You have enough time.
