  • Access to Global Entry Office at IAH - E

Hello, I have an interview for the Global Entry program in Terminal E. The day of the appointment I will be arriving from Mexico. It is possible to get to the Global Entry program office after passing immigration? The office is located by the Gates on Terminal E (inside the secure area). In other words, once I clear immigration, it is possible to go back to the gates? There is an area to drop your luggage for connecting flights but I am not sure if because this is an international flight people has to pass security again. Once I leave the secure are I will not have a boarding pass to go back. thanks Unfortunately the office located outside terminal E does not have appointments available

You will not be able to access the secure side of the airport once you clear customs. If you really want that appointment, you could buy a refundable ticket for later in the day, use its boarding pass to go through security, do the interview, then cancel the check in and refund the ticket.

Thanks, let me ask you a second question: Once I print the boarding pass, it is possible to cancel the ticket for a full refund? it seems like at that point it wold be too late... do you know?

Yes, you can cancel your check-in and then refund the ticket. Note that you have to do this before the flight's scheduled departure.

I have 50 mins connection time between flights from FLL and SEA will I make it and will my checked bags? any idea which terminals United flights I think?

Both flights will likely be in Terminal C. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

Flying United NY-Guadalajara arr Terminal C 8:29, departure Terminal E at 9:00am; enough time if first flight is not delayed?

Actually your Guadalajara flight will depart from Terminal B. Yes, 30 minutes should be enough time.

Hi, I will land in International Terminal E from London Heathrow at 14:40 with British Airways. We are then catching a United flight at 15:54 to Cancun, is that enough time to connect to this flight? I'm not sure which terminal the Cancun flight will leave from. Many thanks

Your British Airways flight will actually arrive in D. Your Cancun flight will leave from E. That is NOT enough time as you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, get your United boarding passes, and re-check your bags, and go through security. 1 hr 14 mins is totally not enough time to do all that.

I will be arriving from Colorado springs from terminal b and have to catch my next flight in terminal c to Austin teaxs and its 53minutes between lay over. is there going to be enough time to make it to my next flight? is there a shuttle that can take me the terminal c?

That should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. The TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security.

  • Terminal D to Terminal A?

I am travelling into Houston Terminal D (BA) which lands at 14:30 from LHR. I'm considering getting a connecting flight from Terminal A, which would leave at 16:45. I've read about long queues at immigration - I am an American but am travelling with a non-American, so am aware of long waits. I'm guessing it's incredibly unlikely that we'd make this connecting flight? How long does it take to travel to Terminal A? Should we be anticipating 2h waits at customs? Thanks!

I would not expect 2 hour waits at immigration. However, since you are planning on booking a separate ticket, you may have to transfer the bags from Terminal A yourself and you will have to take the Inter-Terminal Train which is much slower than the TerminaLink train. I would leave 3 hours for your transfer.

I will land at terminal B and catch a flight to London at terminal E, will 40 minutes enough time for connection?

Yes, that should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. All terminals are connected inside security by the TerminaLink train.

I am travelling to the UK from ecuador but in my way there i need to stop in Houston for 12 hours. Can i leave the Airport? My ESTA visa is not transit only.

Yes, you can leave the airport. When you go through US Immigration and Customs you will be outside security and it's not like there's anybody guarding the doors. However, beware that there's no public transit route into the city and traffic in Houston can be quite bad.

Hi I am coming in to IAH 13:55 from moscow on singapore airline, then need to transfer to terminal A american airline to DFW at 16:40, is 2 hy 40 min enough for immigration, train to terminal A and re check in?

You will actually arrive in Terminal D. Yes, that should be enough time. The Inter-Terminal train runs underground outside security.

Hi , I am connecting in IAH with a lay over of 2 hr 21 mins. I'm flying from Vancouver , B.C. and on to Peru aboard United ,both flights. Is this sufficient time to change planes?

Yes, that should be enough time. You will pre-clear US Customs and Immigration in Vancouver so all you will have to do in IAH is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You will likely arrive in C and depart from E. They are directly connected inside security.

Hi, is 1 hr 20 min enough time for getting immagrations and customs before connecting flight to LAX? I'm arriving IAH from AMS and flying all flights with United.

That is below the minimum connection time for an International -> Domestic transfer at IAH, but it may be possible if your flight from Amsterdam is on-time or early.

Saturday arrival United 1261 at 1:40 pm from Orlando....leave United 480 at 2:25 pm to Seattle. Nervous about the short connection time. Currently seats are at rear of plane with carryon. Thoughts and ideas?

45 minutes isn't that short. Both flights should be in Terminal C. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.
