My flight from PHX is scheduled to land at 9:32 am and my United Express flight to XNA departs at 10:25 am, a 53-minute connection time. I don't know the terminals yet. Will that be enough time? Thank you!

Clarification to above: Looks like PHX flight may arrive at terminal E and flight to XNA may depart from terminal B. Also, what if PHX flight is delayed 15 minutes instead of arriving on time? Thank you!

That is plenty of time. Your PHX flight will likely arrive in C. Your XNA flight will likely depart from B. All terminals are connected inside security by the Skyway train. You have enough time, even for a moderate delay.

    Thank you! That's a relief!

Hi, Just wanted to ask re: connection times. Arriving to Houston from Frankfurt to Terminal D, then departing from Terminal E to Cancun 1hr 47mins later. All with Lufthansa on EU passports so assume we will not have to re-check bags, but will have to go through immigration? Is it feasible? Thanks.

Yes, you will have to go through US Immigration, customs, and security. You have barely enough time if everything goes perfectly.

    Thank you!

I am flying from Tampa to Narita through IAH and have only a 1-hour difference in arrival vs departure. Looks like I can take the tram from Terminal B to terminal D but do I have to go through security again because it is an international flight?

No, you do not have to go through security again. There is no special security for international flights.

Wondering if 45 minutes or less is enough time to connect in Terminal C, arriving and departing from Terminal C

Yes, that is enough time if the first flight is on-time.

I got through security and to my gate in 5 minutes. There was no one in line at all. You will be fine.

He doesn't have to go through security.

I have a group of 16 passing through IAH from Grand Cayman to SFO with 1:55 lay over, seems a bit close but the airline set it up?

That should be enough time if everything goes smoothly.

Hi: I am flying from SFO to ORF with a connection of 1 hour in houston. The tickets mention a terminal change. Will I have enough time?

correction it is only 49 min. connection, not 1 hour

Yes, that should be enough time if the flight from SFO is on-time. The Skyway train connects all terminals inside security.

Hi' I am transiting to LAX at IAH from LHR LONDON but only have a 1 hour 40 mins transit time. I also will have to switch terminals. Is this sufficient time as I don't wish to miss my connection...

That is just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

Connecting in IAH from London LHR to Managua MGA, UK citizen. Would I need to collect and re-check luggage? Both flights are United. Is 2 hours reasonable for the connection? And the same on the way back? THanks

Since you are on an International to International connection all on United through Houston you don't have to claim your bags. However, you do still go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security. You should have enough time.

I'm looking at a United Flight into IHA from Costa Rica, connection to SFO (also on United). It shows a 1hr25 minute connection, with terminal change, and says this is a "risky connection. An earlier flight with 1hr20 minute connection, doesn't say "risky" - is 1hr25 minutes enough. We will have check bags, and have TSA Pre (but not global entry). Thanks!

Yes, that is risky. I would say anything under 2 hours International to domestic in Houston is risky.

    Thanks ZAP

We are travelling to Cancun via Houston with only 1hr 25min layover from San Fran. Does not seen enough to to go domestic to international? Assume we need to recheck baggage onto international flight. Note we are Australian passport holders.

No, you do not have to re-check your bags. There is no US Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.

Hi - I'm flying MTY - IAH - LHR on United and I have a 1h13 layover at IAH terminal E. Will I have to clear immigration? Is this enough time?

That's not realistically enough time for an International to International connection in Houston.

Hi, I flew through IAH previously and missed my flight because I could not clear customs and recheck my bags in 3-ish hours. I have another trip coming up arriving on Tuesday, Oct 18th at 5:55pm from London with a 3 hr 37 min layover. Will I be able to clear customs and recheck my bags for a domestic flight with this amount of time? I'm hoping my first IAH experience was a fluke. Thank you so much for your advice!

    You should be able to.

Great, thank you very much Zap!

I have made the Mexico City to domestic connection dozens of times in about an hour.

Really? Ok that's very reassuring. Must have been a really off day then. Thank you for your reply!

I'm flying from Mexico City to IAH and land in terminal E at 2:23 pm if it's on time on a Thursday. My connection flight to CLE is at 3:50 pm in terminal C. (1 h 27 min layover). Will I have enough time to clear customs, recheck my bag and get to my connection?

I should have mentioned both flights are United airlines.

That's less than the recommended time. It will be very difficult.

Where are you arriving into Houston from? I can't answer your question without that information.

Yes that should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. The skyway train connects all terminals inside security.

Hi, I'm looking at flights from Europe to Austin and one option is through IAH; arriving with LH440 at 2h05 PM and leaving with UA8636 at 3h35. Is 1h30min aufficient time for the transfer?

Realistically that is not enough time to make an International to Domestic connection in Houston. I would look at booking the next flight to Austin instead.
