  • which terminal I should check in
    Oct 20, 2013
I will take UA1178 to SanFrancisco and then take connective flight UA889 to Beijing. I want to know which terminal I should check in, terminal C or E. I was informed the depart gate for UA1178 is E20.

On arrival at IAH, take the above-ground TerminaLink train, which starts its service at the Terminal A station, connects terminals A, B, C, D/E inside security (allow for 30 mins transfer from A to D). At the D/E station follow sign to Concourse E, gate E20.

You can check-in in either Terminal, but since the departure is from E, I would check-in in E.

Will I have enough time to connect from an American airline flight arriving at 5:10pm to a Delta flight departing at 6:00pm

Both AA & DL airlines use Terminal A of IAH, which has gates 1-15 and 17-30 on opposite sides. Just walk over to your connecting gate.

I have a two hour layover from Cancun to LAX, on united is this enough time to make my flight?

Yes, that should be enough time. If for some reason you don't make your connection, United has almost hourly flights from IAH to LAX that you can be rebooked on.

  • United Terminal Connection at IAH

I'm fling from San Francisco to Rio De Janiero Brazil this coming Friday and I have a 40 minute layover at Houston IAH airport. Is this doable? Or should I pay the extra $700 they want to change the flight? What's my chances of getting my baggage lost in the plane change?

I should have mentioned that I'm flying United

If your first flight is on-time that will be enough time. You will arrive in C and depart from E which are connected. If you miss your connection it will be their fault and they will have to reaccommadate you on a different flight.

Thank you for the response ZAP. Do you have any thoughts on the chances of my baggage getting lost in the plane change?

Usually if a person can make it bags can make it as well.

What is the most efficient way to get from Terminal B to Terminal C? Does one have to go through Security again? Is 39 minutes enough time?

At IAH the above-ground TerminaLink train, starts its service at the Terminal A station, ad connects terminals A, B, C, D/E inside security - you have enough time.

Flying from Birmingham to San Diego on United changing planes with 21 minutes between flights. The airline changed my flight with this new time. Is it even possible?

It's possible but it will depend on your first flight getting in on-time or preferably early and running. If you call United they should put you on a later flight to SAN or earlier flight from BHM free of charge due to the schedule change. Or, alternatively they could re-book you to connect in Denver if that works better.

I´ll arrive from Dallas (UA 5265) at 8:26PM with a connecting flight to Rio de Janeiro (UA 129) departing at 21:10PM. Do you think Its a doable connecting time? tks

That's very tight. Flights are frequently delayed late in the day. You will arrive in Terminal B and depart from Terminal E, which are connected beyond security by the TerminaLink Train. If you miss your connection you'll be spending the night and the whole next day in Houston.

Yes, that should be doable. You will arrive in Terminal C or E and depart from E, which are all connected beyond security.

How do I know which terminal I am flying from tomorrow, domestic flight from IAH? I see if I am flying from terminal A I have to check my bags at B. and that TSA is at terminal C only? Can this be right?

What flight numbers are you on and from what cities? There is TSA inspection in every terminal and ALSO every terminal is connected beyond security by the TerminaLink train.

  • B to E with 36 minute layover
    Sep 23, 2013
I am flying on 9/25/13 from St Louis to Cozumel with a 36-minute layover at IAH and will have to get from Terminal B to E. I know that this is extremely tight, but are the odds in favor of making or missing the flight?

That's tight but doable, you'll take the TerminaLink train and have to run. Unfortunately if you miss your connection there's no later flights to Cozumel that day.

  • from E to B84 in 30 min
    Sep 18, 2013
what are the option to make my conncetion on time?

Well, first hope your first flight is on-time, then take the TerminaLink Train and run. If your arrival into E is an international flight I really don't think you can make that connection. However, not many domestic flights arrive into E. How are you so sure you'll be arriving in E?

it's a UAL flight from OKC sched in 12:?? - my wife is on the flight E is what they told her in OKC I can get the nbr would that help?

UAL flight 1598 is showing early by :25 in to E15 UA4592 B84H on sched

Yes, that would be one of the rare domestic flights that arrived into E. Since the flight arrived early she'll have over 40 minutes for her connection. Still tight, but doable.

  • IAD to IAH To SAT
    Sep 17, 2013
I am coming in on united from IAD going to SAT on United have an hour layover will I have enough time

At IAH, United uses Terminals A, B, C for domestic flights. Today's listing of UA's arrival from IAD is at gate C18; and departure from gate E16. The above-ground TerminaLink train, which starts its service at the Terminal A station, connects terminals A, B, C inside security - follow signs. You have enough time.

Both of your flights will likely be in Terminal C. I don't know where tusep is getting his info as United has numerous IAD-IAH and IAH-SAT flights. If you do have to change terminals, the TerminaLink train does connect all terminals inside security.

  • terminal D to E
    Sep 15, 2013
can people travel from international use the above ground transportation so they don't need to go through security again for the connecting flight? Is the above ground transportation easy to find for an non-English speaking person? Thanks!

At IAH, International Arrivals arrive either at Terminals D or E. From there they go through secure corridors, walk across the sky bridges to adjoining Federal Inspection Services (FIS), where they will claim baggage & clear U.S. Customs. If continuing your journey, re-check in your bags at the recheck counters and proceed to the Arrivals Lobby, which has an escalator down to the Inter-Terminal Train taking you to your connecting terminal.

  • ATL to IAH to Lake Charles,la-- 48 minute layover
    Sep 10, 2013
is 48 minutes enough time to make this connection?

Yes, if your first flight is on-time and you hurry. Most ATL-IAH arrivals are in B (although a few are in C). Your IAH-LCH flight will leave from A-North. The TerminaLink train connects all terminals beyond security.
