  • Possible to go from C to E in 39 mins?
    Sep 5, 2012
    1
Arriving in Terminal C, catching connecting flight in Terminal E. Time between flights is 39 mins. Is there an additional customs/securities check between these terminals? Is it possible to make this check-in in 39 mins?

On arrival at IAH if arriving at gates C29-45 and transferring to Terminal E: simply walk towards gates C14-24 and proceeds straight on to TE. You have enough time.

I dont know my gate numbers.I'm not flying out until November but my flight says it leaves Sacramento (SMF) at12;21pm and arrives in New York (LGA) at 11:23pm. It doesnt say what time its due to arrive at IAH. It jus says 1 Stop. Time on the ground in Houston, TX (IAH - Intercontinental) is 57 minutes. Change Planes. Equipment changes in Houston, TX (IAH - Intercontinental) to a Boeing 737-700. Will I have enough in 57 minutes to get the other flight? Its the one flight number.

I suggest you open www.ifly.com/iah and click on "Terminal Map", then scroll down to the text which will give you airlines, terminals and connections.

  • FLIGHT LAS TO LIM CONNECTING IN IAH

I will only have 40 minutes to connect, I see that the flight arrives at Terminal C and the flight to Lima departs at Terminal E...do you think I can make it?

On arrival at IAH you have two options to get to Terminal C: (a) Take the above-ground TerminaLink train connecting all terminals inside security; (b) If arriving at gates C29-45 and transferring to Terminal E: walk towards gates C14-24 and proceeds straight on to TE.

  • Lufthansa to United

LH arrives at 1350 how long will it take to clear customs and board a UA flight to DEN? My husband is an older man with a heart condition can we arrange for a little trolley to pick him up and shuttle him down to UA? If so how do we do that? Thank you

    1. You should give LH notice 2 days before departure that you will need a wheelchair upon your arrival at IAH - if it is too late to do so, alert your flight attendant to make such arrangement. 2. Lufthansa arrives at Terminal D; you will be directed to the International Arrivals terminal, where you will go through customs & take the escalator down to Baggage Claim Level 1. From there you go through Exit Control and enter to the right the baggage recheck area (make sure that LH transfers your bags to UA connection - otherwise you need to take your bags to the connecting terminal and check them in at the UA counter) and straight out arrive at the International Arrivals Lobby, which has an escalator down to the Inter-Terminal Train to Terminals A, B & C. 3. United uses Terminals A, B C & E (where you need to go through security check before continuing on to your gate.) Your ticket and the overhead screens on arrival at IAH will indicate your gate number & departure time. You should count on gate-to-gate on a 1.5 hour transfer.

  • Japan Trip 10-13-12
    Aug 15, 2012

Hi, I am in the planning stages of a trip to Japan on 10-13-12. The 1st lleg of the trip is United 4353 from ATL, (Express Jet Airlines DBA United Express-Embraer RJ135/145 Regional Jet), and then switch to United Flight 1169, (Boeing 757) for SFO. Layover is only 35 min. and I can find no info on terminals or gates and am concerned that there isn't enough time to make the connection. Can someone please enlighten me if I will have to change terminals and is 35 min enough time for me and the baggage transfer?

United uses Terminals A, B & C at IAH; United uses Terminal 3 & the International Terminal at SFO. You need to contact Express Jet if they transfer your bags at IAH to United flight to SFO - if not, you need to pick up your bag and check it in at the United check-in counter of your departure terminal at IAH. United will transfer your bags from SFO to Japan flight. Read up on both IAH & SFO terminals by opening www.ifly.com/iah /or sfo; then click on "Terminal Map" under QUICK LINKS, & scroll down to text, which will give you all the details you need. In some instances, 35 mins may be enough time, in others not (changing Terminals, etc)

This is not correct. United uses Terminals B, C, and E. MOAU12 will arrive at Terminal B and probably leave for SFO from Terminal C. This can take quite a while--use the link from B to C. UAL should send the luggage all the way to NRT without issue. But, the 35 minutes is not enough time for this trip through IAH. Once you get to Terminal C from B, unless it's close, hop on a cart and tell him/her to get you to your gate in C. I had to do something quite similar not too long ago and only had 40 minutes. I made it by one minute before they closed the door. Why not simply fly nonstop from IAH to Japan rather than going through SFO!!! It's so my easier on your knees, legs, feet, head and general well-being. United flies non-stop from IAH daily.

  • Dom to int flight with diff airlines

Hi, I will be arriving from Austin to IAH via United (dont know my terminal yet) and have to make an international connection to Emirates at T4. Once I collect my bags, will I be able to use the Inter Terminal train to T4 using a baggage cart to get to T4 as I have a couple of suitcases. If not, what other options do I have? Thx

    1. United uses all three domestic terminals A, B & C with corresponding gates. However, Emirates uses Terminal D (it uses Terminal 4 at LAX, not IAH!). 2. Did you check with United if they would transfer your bags to Emirates automatically? If they don't you cannot enter the inter-terminal train with a trolley at any airport trains - your best bet is to take a taxi in front of arrivals, or a shuttle located at the south side of TA, B & C and the west end of TD. 3. At TD you need to go through security check before proceeding to your connecting gate. 4. The departure level has 9 gateways: (from left to right: gateway leading to gates C14 to C2, and gates D1 to D3; gateway to Gates D4A & D4; Gates D5 through Gates D10 have separate gateways, with gateway to gates D11, 11A & 12 at the end. IF United transfers your bags and you arrive at C gates, you could just walk over to your D gates.

There is no terminal T4 at IAH. Sounds like an LAX terminal number. You will probably arrive at either Terminal B (if on a small Express Jet) or at Terminal C if on a 737. However, why go through LAX when you can fly non-stop from Houston to Dubai on Emirates? I would try to catch a flight out of Austin that arrives at Terminal C or E rather than using LAX. Surely UAL can assist you for this connection. Emirates will depart from Terminal D. Geting from either C or E to Terminal D is just a nice walk. Only take the link if your have to arrive at Terminal B and need to get to Terminal E. The non-stop from IAH to DXB. Unbelievably, the IAH to DXB is actually longer than LAX or SFO to DXB by nearly an hour. Seems impossible, but it is. Hope you are in a First Class or at least Business! Good luck, but do try to make the changes. It's worth it, believe me! I live in Austin and fly to Houston, my hometown, and unless there have been some adjustments, UAL should have a flight on a B737 into Terminal C.

I am flying Continental from Rio to IAH. After I have connection to Las Vegas flying United. Where is the terminal? The same ? Do I take the checked bags in Houston and re-checkin again or I take my bags in Las Vegas?

You arrive at IAH at the international Terminal E (E gates 1-24). You wil be processed at the International Arrivals building, which is part of Terminal E: Arriving passengers go through customs & take the escalator down to the Baggage Claim Level 1. From there they go through Exit Control and enter to the right the baggage recheck area, and straight out arrive at the International Arrivals Lobby, which has an escalator down to the inter-terminal train, to domestic Terminals A, B & C. United (Continental merged into United) uses all three domestic terminals - your ticket and the overhead screen will indicate your connecting gate number, i.e. A1, B60, C14, etc.

  • Enough Time 50 Min

My husband and I will be traveling to Mexico in Sept -- I just received our itinerary and have 24 hours to make any changes without penalty and I am concerned about the 50 min between our flight arriving in Terminal B and departing out of Terminal E -- what is the fastest way to get from TB to TE and make our flight? Or should I change our departure flight? We will have all of our luggage as carry ons so I'm not sure if you have motorized carts to help passengers as I have had surgery on both knees and can't run to try to do an OJ thru the airport!

IAH terminals are served by the above-ground TerminaLink train, which starts its service at the Terminal A station, and connects terminals A, B, C, D/E inside security. The departure level has 9 gateways: (from left to right: gateway leading to gates C14 to C2, and gates D1 to D3; gateway to Gates D4A & D4; Gates D5 through Gates D10 have separate gateways, with gateway to gates D11, 11A & 12 at the end. On Arrival at TB near gateway to Gates B84-88 is a connection to C, D & E gates. You should contact your first airline at least 48 hours prior to Mexico departure that you will need assistance to get to Terminal E. (50 mins is plenty for able-bodied persons - and you don't know yet how well you'll be doing by September. Take care of yourself and heal fast!

  • transfer bags fr united dom to emira int

hi how can i get united to transefer my baggs from domestic flight to international on emirates, on two seperate flight tickets.

As you have two separate flight tickets for your IAH transfer, and United and Emirates are not part of the three airline alliances, or code-share, you will need to take claim your bag on arrival and take it to your connecting terminal (Terminal D), where you have to recheck it in. (United uses domestic Terminals A & B) I suggest you on www.ifly.com/iah and click on "Terminal Map" under QUICK LINKS, then scroll down to the text for connections, and more.

  • Enough Time AA from MIA, IAH to FRA
    Jul 24, 2012
    2
Hi, we are planning to take August 1, AA685 MIA IAH 15:20 – 17:00. Than with Lufthansa same day LH 441 IAH FRA 18:20 – 11:05. Is this enough time to get the connection with LH if we land with AA at 5 pm and to get LH leaving at 6:20 pm? As we would be stand by for both AA and LH as ID traveller would AA check us through to FRA from MIA? Or do we have to collect our luggage in IAH and completely check in again? So than the time to get the connex would not be enough, wouldn´t it? Thank you very much for your help,

At IAH you arrive via AA at Terminal A and need to change over to Terminal D to catch your Lufthansa flight. The above-ground TerminaLink train, which starts its service at the Terminal A station, connects terminals A, B, C, D/E inside security. Your 5pm arrival and 6:20 departure gives you enough transfer time. However, you need to make sure that AA will transfer bags to LH - not all airlines do, in which case you would have to retrieve your bags at TA and re-check them in at TD - count in that extra time, if needed. For detailed information about the terminals and transfer options open www.ifly.com/iah, click on "Terminal Map" and scroll down to the text.

Thank you very much for your prompt reply. This was really helpful. Brgds!

I am traveling from Newark to Sao Paulo with a connecting flight in Houston at terminal C. My connection is only 45 minutes. Is that enough time? Do I have to go through security again in Houston if I already did in Newark?

You only go through security check at Newark. Depending on whether you take the same or two separate airlines, you may need to switch to another terminal. To familiarize yourself with the layout, gates and connecting between terminals, I suggest you open www.ifly.com/iah and click on "Terminal Map" under QUICK LINKS; scroll down to the text.

  • Enough connection time?
    Jul 30, 2012

Hi, my wife and I will be coming on United through IAH on Sept. 3 - from Guatemala City, connecting through to Calgary, Canada (also on United). Assuming on time arrival, we will have 1 hour 19 minutes. I assume we need to collect our bags, and pass through Customs, etc. Will we have enough time to do that? We'll have been away 2 years, and have a fair bit of luggage with us. We arrive at Terminal E; depart at C. I've also heard some people say that on International to International, bags are checked right through, and we only have to go to the 'One Stop' line at Immigration? Anybody have any advice on this? Thanks.

Only international arrivals need to go through passport control, pick up bags, go through customs and if continuing journey, re-check-in bags at designated area. Arriving in September makes this procedure a little less time-consuming. You should be able to transfer from gate to gate within your allotted time. United will transfer bags to your connecting flight. This is what you need to do on arrival at IAH: The International Arrivals building can be accessed from both Terminal E & C, with separate US Customs. Arriving passengers go through customs & take the escalator down to Baggage Claim Level 1. From there they go through Exit Control and enter to the right the baggage recheck area, and straight out arrive at the International Arrivals Lobby - this area has an escalator down to the Inter-Terminal Train to Terminal C, where you need to go through security check before proceeding to your gate (gates are divided into three gate areas - It is vital that you check overhead screens off and on for your connecting flight number, gate & departure time.

Thanks so much for the help and advice!

daughter needs united airlines to help my daughter coming on united flight 33 from paris gate E 20 to get to gate E3...she is in crutches ...has about 20 minutes.... do not know about customs...etc... is it dooable...?

At IAH Terminal E has its gates arranged in a U-shape: From Gates 20A & 20B you need to cross over to E17, continue down to E12, pass E11, E10B, cross over to E2 to E3. I suggest you contact the Airline and ask for a wheelchair. It is best that your daughter should alert the flight attendant that she will need assistance to gate E3. Airport contact: info@fly2houston.com or (281) 230 3100.
