do I have enough time to make it with just carry on and no checkin bags? I also bought the Premier Access from United if this helps thank you

Yes, with no checked bags I think you can make this. Houston has one-stop immigration if you don't have checked bags, so that will also help you save time.

I Will be arriving Houston AirPort (from Ams, netherlands) at 13.50 terminal E. I have 1h52 to switch to my connected flight ( also with United) at terminal C, that leaves at 15.42 Do I have to take my checked bagage or does the AirPort take care of it? And most important can I catch my flight or is it too little time? Do I have to go through immigration or is it connected? Hope we can catch the flight, ideas/ tips are welcome!

You will go through US Immigration, Customs, and security. You do not have to claim your bags because you are on an International to International connection. You should have enough time.

I'm arriving from Mexico to Houston at terminal E. I have 2 hrs connection time to get my flight to Chicago from terminal C. Do I have to go through immigration and customs? Do I need to pick up my check in in Houston and re check it again? Is 2 hrs enough time?

Yes, in Houston you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, and go through security and to your departure gate. You should have enough time.

You should have just enough time if your flight does arrive at 5:40.

I'm planning on flying to Miami from LAS in August. Will my luggage be forwarded straight through to MIA airport or will I have to collect it and check it in again in Houston.

If both tickets are together on the same reservation on United then you won't have to do anything with your bags in Houston.

I'll be flying from DFW to IAH (ticket booked with United Airlines) and then IAH to IST same day( ticket booked with Turkish Airlines). My questions are: 1) Do i have to recheck my bag at IAH ? 2) How much time would i need to catch my flight to Turkey and the flight back to Dallas?

On your way to Istanbul you don't have to do anything with your bags in Houston, so 1 hour should be plenty of time. On the way back you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags, go through security and to your departure gate, so I recommend at least 2 hours.

What if i booked the tickets in two separate reservations or transactions? I'am assuming i would need to recheck my bag after claiming it in Houston since is two different airlines witch in this case do not partner with each other.

We have a flight from dtw to iah Thursday January 14th. It lands in Houston at 8:26am. Our connection to MGA departs at 8:59am! Is it possible to make it if we hurry and our flight is on time?

Yes, it is possible. The Skyway train connects all terminals inside security. it appears you will arrive in Terminal B and depart from Terminal E. There is a 6:22 PM flight to Managua if you do miss your connection, obviously waiting around 9 hours for the next flight isn't ideal but it's better than having to wait a full day.

    Thanks for your help

  • Catching a connecting flight to Cancun

Hello- I'm flying into Terminal C from Kansas City tomorrow with a 37 minute layover before my next flight heads out of Terminal E to Cancun. I was wondering if we will need to recheck our bags in Houston before jumping on the flight to Cancun...

No, you don't have to do anything with your bags in Houston on your way to Cancun. There is no US Customs when exiting the US.

I arrive from London on United in the afternoon with 72 minutes to connect to Costa Rica (Liberia) - carry on luggage only. Will I have to change terminals and do I have a chance at all of making this connection? there is a one-stop process for customs, does that work? I have a US passport

Further to my question above, I arrive and depart from terminal E. Will I have to go back through security or is there an international transfer?

Yes, you can go through One-Stop Immigration and Customs and then security. If your flight is on-time you can barely make it assuming your flight from London arrives on-time.

My daughter arrives at IAH at 1:15pm on Friday 8 January (travelling from Auckland New Zealand and is booked on a United flight to Orlando at 2:45pm Terminal C). The travel agent says this is enough time so hopefully it is. Will she need to uplift her bags at IAH - and if she does where does she take them for her next flight.

She will arrive in Terminal D, go through US Immigration, claim her bags, go through US Customs, re-check her bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to her departure gate. She has just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

I'm flying from Chicago to Vegas with a layover at IAH in February. Would 50 minutes from the time I land until my next flight be enough time? Would I have to go through security again?

That should be enough time if the first flight is on-time. No you do not have to go through security again. Both gates will likely be in Terminal C.

I am arriving in Houston (from Liberia, Costa Rica) March 16th at 6:40pm, my connecting flight is Houston to St. Louis at 7:45. Will I have enough time or should I book a different flight (the next one isn't until the next day so I'd have to spend the night in Houston).

You will have to book a different flight. 1 hr 5 minutes is definitely not enough time to make an International to Domestic connection in Houston.

Thank you. I got the same answer from Southwest Airlines. I went ahead and booked for the next day (so glad you can change your tickets with Southwest for free!)

Oh, if you're flying Southwest then please also note that you will be flying from Houston Hobby airport, not Houston-Bush Intercontinental. If your flight from Liberia is not on Southwest, then you will have to change airports.

Yes, thank you! I made sure they were both Hobby.

Traveling United from OKC to Houston landing at 4:28pm. My connection to Victoria (VCT) is at 5pm. Carry on only. Is this possible? I don't know how I can get gate/map info w/o booking the tickets first.

I don't think that's reasonably possible. The airline that flies to Victoria, Texas Sky, does not have online check in or a counter inside security. You will have to exit security in Terminal A to get your Texas Sky boarding pass and then go back through security. That means you'll have to arrive in Houston more like 3:30 to have enough time.

I will be arriving in Houston from Calgary I will have 1 hour and 52 min(if everything is on time) will that be enough time to make my connecting flight to Costa Rica?

Yes, that should be enough time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Calgary. All you have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. All terminals are connected inside security.

I am flying from USA (New Orleans) to Mexico City via Houston. I have a UK passport although will already have been in US for a while by then. As I am coming from USA will I be able to connect more quickly in Houston, i.e. in 1 hour?

there is no US Immigration or Customs when exiting the US. You only have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate in Houston. All gates in Houston are connected inside security. You will arrive in Terminal B or C and depart from Terminal B or E (likely E). You have enough time if your flight is on-time. You will show your passport to the gate agent when boarding your flight to Mexico and then go through Mexican immigration and customs when you get to Mexico City.
