  • Mexico - Houston - NYC
    Mar 25, 2013
If I'm connecting at IAH, traveling by United, and I'm Mexican and have to go through Migration.. is 2 hours 10 min enough time to make it? I'm catchin a flight to NYC. Thanks in advance for the help, I'd really appreciate it :)

That should be enough time. Once you clear immigration your flight to NY will probably leave from Terminal C, which is connected. If for some reason you miss your connection, United has lots of flights from IAH to NY, so you can be rebooked.

  • 32 mins terminal C or E to B?
    Mar 25, 2013
I will be flying into IAH from SNA (Orange County) arriving at 7.32pm, and am wondering if I can connect to a flight to STL leaving at 8.04pm (both on United), I think leaving from Terminal B? Will I be able to make it between those terminals in 32 minutes??? Thanks

It's not clear - are you connecting at IAH? Your message makes it look as if you are connecting at SNA. If so that's very tight but doable. You have to take the TerminaLink one stop to get from C to B. Unfortunately since it's so late in the day that would probably the last flight to STL from IAH, so if you miss your connection you'll be spending the night in Houston.

Sorry - connecting at IAH. My route is SNA-IAH-STL. It is indeed the last flight of the day from IAH to STL.. I just wanted to know if it would be physically possible to get from C (or E, not sure where my flight from SNA is arriving at IAH), to B within the 32 mins.. Will I basically have to run? Are the trains frequent? Thanks again

Yes, you will probably want to run, and also yes, the TerminaLink trains run very frequently

  • How do I get from Terminal A to E
    Mar 23, 2013
I'm flying into IAH from CVG then flying out to Lima. I arrive at A and leave from E. How do I get between terminals? How long does it take? I'm from Australia and don't know this airport at all. THank you

At IAH, the above-ground TerminaLink train, starts its service at the Terminal A station and connects from there to Terminals B, C, D/E inside security - just follow signs to the train on arrival. On arrival at TD, look for the connector to TE where you arrive in the center of the gate area with gates E1-E11 and E12-24. Estimated time: 30-40 mins.

  • 36 minutes between flights

Hi! I'm flying from Laguardia into IAH, landing at 8:27, and then our next flight to Ontario (ONT) is at 9:03. We didn't realize it was that close when we booked the tickets because United put them in a cluster. Is this doable?

Ontario being California, not Canada, by the way.

Yes, it's doable. Both of your flights will probably be in Terminal C.

    Thank you!

how long does the terminalink take to make a complete circle

Probably about 20 minutes. There's a video of it on Youtube.

  • 45 min. connection

Flight UA398 arriving 12:00 PM depart 12:45 to Charlotte on flight UA5239. Will we have enough time to make connection?

Yes, if your first flight is on time that should be enough time, but you will have to take the TerminaLink train from Terminal C to Terminal A or B.

  • 45 minut layover with kids
    Mar 20, 2013
I know this has been address but I just want extra assurance. :) Is a 45 minute layover doable? It'll be me, my husband, two kids, and a car seat. We're coming in from Pittsburgh (PIT) and going to Orange County (SNA). Also, how can I find out which terminal I will be flying into and out of? Thanks.

Forgot to add: we will be flying United for both flights.

Yes, it's doable. If your PIT-IAH flight is on United it will arrive in terminal C or E. if it's on United Express it will arrive in B. Your SNA flight will probably depart from C. If you arrive into B you can take the TerminaLink train between terminals, otherwise you can walk between gates in C or between C and E.

  • long time between flights
    Mar 20, 2013
I have a long time between flights at IAH. I get in at midnight and the next flight isn't until 7am. are ther sleeping booths available at this airport and where are they located

No, "sleeping booths" are just coming to America.

You could opt for the massage chairs near gate C43 - if sitting on floor there you get WiFi connection from nearby VIP lounge. Alternatively, open http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g1-i10702-k5639170-Long_layover_in_Houston_IAH_Hotel_or_sleep_in_airport-Air_Travel.html for hotel accommodation suggestions by Air Travel Forum.

  • United flight 43 minute connection
    Mar 18, 2013
We have a flight that arrives at IAH at 9:33 am (United) and leaves at 10:16 am for Roatan, Honduras. Is that enough time?

That's very tight, but doable. Your Roatan flight will likely depart from Terminal E. If you arrive into Terminal A or B, take the TerminaLink train between terminals.

    Thank you for your response

I am flying from Indianapolis to Houston, TX then to Vancouver with United airline. I will leave Indy at 6:30am, arrive in Houston at 8:03am, I have one hour to connect to the flight to Vancouver. Will I have enough time? Do I need to go thru custom in IAH? What is the best way to do? I will be 33 weeks pregnant and taking my 6-year-old son.

Yes, you have enough time. You do not go through customs at IAH, you will go through Canadian immigration in Vancouver. Your flight from IND will likely arrive in Terminal B (although it could arrive in A) and your YVR flight will likely depart from Terminal C. You just have to take the TerminaLink one station if you arrive in B and 2 stations if you arrive in A.

  • 40 mins Connection Terminal A to C
    Mar 17, 2013
I have two small children and I'm connecting between Terminals A and C with a 40 min connection. Should I be concerned??

I should mention...I'm coming in from Tulsa and ddeparting to Orlando

On arrival at IAH, Terminal A, look for signs for the above-ground TerminaLink train which runs continuously between the terminals inside security. On arrival at TC, the TerminaLink train station and splits shortly thereafter into the gateway to gates C24 to C27, to the right, gateway to gates C14 to C23 in the center, and C2 to C14 to the left. You make it easily within 40 mins.

  • booking question - time btwn flights
    Mar 15, 2013
I am connecting to an international flight out of IAH that departs at 7:50PM. I have a few choices to select from for the first flight into IAH, arrival times as follows 1:00PM, 2:00PM or 5:00PM. I would like to avoid a long layover, but want to have enough time, which arrival time would you suggest booking in order to allow enough time to claim luggage and go to customs to board my flight at 7:50PM

Unless your first flight is also international, you will not have to claim luggage or go through customs in IAH. Even if your first flight IS international, the 5 PM arrival should be fine.

  • Connection time between flight
    Mar 15, 2013
I will arrive at IAH from Istanbul on TURKISH AIR at 6PM, my connecting flight to San Diego on UAL is at 9PM. Will this allow enough time to collect baggage and clear customs, how long does this process usually take?

Yes, that is enough time. It should take anywhere between an hour and 1.5 hours to go through immigration, recheck baggage, and go back through security.

  • Canada/IAH/GCM connect PING -> ZAP
    Mar 12, 2013
Zap, you seem to be quite knowledgeable so I'm hoping you can help me out. Looking through the forums, I think I've seen possible answers, but I wanted to pick your brain for my specific situation. Flying YVR - GCM via IAH with United. Arriving Term E, departing Term C. 37 minutes connection time. I'm certain this is a standard United flight that occurs every day, but this seems to be a VERY tight connection. Surely they don't expect us to get our bags, recheck them, and then go through Customs again in Houston do they? I'm hoping that since we clear US Customs in Vancouver that we will just have to get off plane in IAH, and proceed to the next gate to board the flight to GCM. Is this the case? Or will we have to wait for our bags, etc. Thanks in advance!

Yes, if you preclear in YVR you don't have to go through immigration in IAH. It will be handled just like any domestic flight and could arrive into C or E (for example today's YVR-IAH flight arrived at C-35). Also since that flight leaves so early it is less likely to be delayed. Today it left 1 minute late and arrived 23 minutes early.
