I am flying with United from Chicago to Pensacola with a 53 minute layover in Houston. Is this doable?

Yes, that is possible. You will likely arrive in Terminal C and depart from Terminal B. They are connected inside security by the Skyway train.

  • Connection International to Domestic MCO

I am flying from CCS to MCO making a connection in Houston. This is my Itinerary: United 1045 Caracas - Houston CCS 8:30am - IAH 1:30pm Terminal E Layover: 2h 10min United 1644 Houston - Orlando IAH 3:40pm - MCO 7:00pm Terminal C It is enough time to catch the second flight? Do I need to claim my baggage go to US Immigration, Customs, etc and recheck my baggage or will that be done automatically?

Yes, that should be just enough time for your layover. Yes, you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, and go through security and to your departure gate.

    Thank you ZAP

Flying from Calgary (YYC) to Guatemala City (GUA) via Houston. Is a 1 hour 5 min layover enough time? Do I have to clear customs in Houston, or do so in Calgary?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Calgary. All you have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You should have enough time.

Hi we arrive from Pittsburgh to Houston domestic at 7:55pm and will then transfer to International for a departure at 10:30pm terminal D on AIR NZ (which we are Elite members). Is that enough time? (2 hours 35 mins). Many thanks. Kristin

Yes, that should be plenty of time. All you have to do in IAH is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Skyway train connects all terminals inside security.

  • Tight connection time

I have a question regarding BOTH connections for an upcoming trip. Question 1: We are flying Milwaukee (MKE) to Puerto Vallarta (PVR) via IAH. We will not check any bags, just a carry-on. Our MKE flight arrives at IAH at 7:58 a.m. and departs for PVR at 8:45 a.m.with a 47m connection. Is this doable? Question 2: Our return flight arrives from PVR into IAH at 3:24 p.m. and departs for MKE at 4:50 p.m. with a 1h 26m connection. Is this doable? This one makes me nervous. What does the process involve coming from PVR into IAH with no checked bags? Thanks for your help!!

On the way to PVR it should be pretty doable as long as your flight from MKE is on-time. You will arrive in Terminal B and depart from Terminal E. The Skyway train connects them inside security. On the way back you will have to go through Immigration, Customs, and Security in Houston. Since you have no checked bags you can use Onestop in Houston. Look for the Onestop signs after you arrive. You should have just enough time if everything goes smoothly. You will just have to go through Onestop Immigration and Customs and then Security and then take the Skyway train to your departure gate in B.

Thank you so much! I appreciate the help.

Oops, forgot to mention above that these are United flights. Don't know if that matters or not. Thanks again.

Yes, I assumed that as United is the only airline that flies both of those routes.

My mom is flying in 3 weeks from Brazil to Orlando via Houston. All flights in United. She will get in Houston at 5am by United. So I assume she will arrive in the terminal E. She will have to pass through immigration and her next flight is to Orlando at 8:50am from Terminal C (I guess). Can you tell me if it is possible to her to make it? I do not know what time the immigration check opens and if she will need to re-check her bag. Another question: Is it easy to re-check bags after passing the immigration? She does not speak English at all, so I am afraid she will get lost in the airport. Thanks

Yes, she has plenty of time. She will go through US Immigration, claim her bags, go through US Customs, re-check her bags immediately after at the re-check desk, then go through security and to her departure gate in Terminal C. If she's worried then maybe she should try to find someone on her flight that speaks both Portuguese and English or someone that has been through Houston before on her flight and have them help her.

Thank you! I will tell her to find someone on her flight that speaks portuguese and I will write a step by step for her to do when she gets there. Thank you!

Hi! I will be flying in from Incheon via Korean Airlines, which will arrive 8.50 a.m. Would I have enough time to go through immigration, custom, pick up luggage and connect to United Airlines flight at 11:30 to go to New Orleans? Please advice. Thank you!

I think that would be just about enough time.

  • 1h6m time for connecting flight to Toronto from Killeen
    Mar 25, 2016
Hi, I'm looking at booking a flight from Killeen to Toronto via Houston. Is the 1 hour, 6 min time between flights enough to make the connection?

Sorry, both flights are operated by United.

Yes, that should be enough time. You just have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Skyway train connects all terminals inside security.

  • 3h30 connecting IAH international arrival to CHS domestic
    Mar 25, 2016
We will fly United flight from SGN Vietnam to IAH (UA 7936) then have 3h30m connecting time to United flight to CHS, Charleston, SC (UA 5461) Will 3h30m be enough to check and re-check luggage as Im travelling with a 76-year old grandma and 2 children 13 and 14 years old? I have been informed that we arrive at terminal E. Which terminal is it for the flight to CHS? How long will it take to get there from TE? Thanks ahead

Note that UA 7936 is actually operated by ANA. You will arrive in Terminal D. The flight to CHS will likely depart from Terminal B. You should have enough time. Once you clear customs and re-check your bags you go through security and take the Skyway train to Terminal B.

  • 1h55 time for connecting flight to Quito from Dubai
    Mar 25, 2016
Hi, I'm flying from Dubai to Houston (Emirates) and then on to Quito Ecuador (United) with 1h55 mins at Houston to make the connection. Is it enough time?

If your tickets are on two separate reservations that will be very difficult if not impossible unless your Emirates flight arrives quite early.

United told us that Emirates can send the baggage direct to Quito (no need to pick it up in Houston) and we'll be given boarding passes too. Although the tickets are in different reservations. Thanks

    Yeah, that's most likely untrue.

Hi, I'm traveling from SEA to IAH on Alaska Airlines arriving at 5am, then leaving at 6:40am on Interjet to Mexico City. Will 1 hour and 45 minutes be enough time? Thank you for your help!

I should add that tickets will be bought separately.

With checked bags it will be very difficult for you to make it to the Interjet check-in desk to check your bags in time.

  • 48 minute connection
    Mar 24, 2016
Hello I was wondering if a 48 min connection is good enough I'll be flying from New Orleans to Houston to LA. Please let me know if 48 mins is enough time to connect. Flights are all booked on United together.

Yes, that should be enough time.

  • Domestic to international
    Mar 24, 2016
Hey, I'm taking a domestic flight (New Orleans to Houston) that arrives at 11:10 am, and I'm then flying internationally (Houston to Mexico) on a flight that leaves at 12:57 pm. I am not checking baggage. Is this enough time? Thank you!

Yes, that is plenty of time. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Skyway train connects all terminals inside security.

  • Connecting flights and TSA check
    Mar 24, 2016
I am flying from Minneapolis to Auckland via Houston. The flight from MSP to IAH is United and the flight from IAH to Auckland is Air New Zealand. I have a 2 hr 20 min layover in Houston. Do I have to go through the TSA check again in Houston?

No, you do not have to go through security in Houston. You just have to go from your arrival gate in Terminal B or C to your departure gate in Terminal D. If you arrive in B you can take the Skyway train inside security to D.
