Hi, I'm a Canadian citizen flying via United Jan. 15th from POS to IAH. Arriving at Terminal E at 1:25pm. Connecting at 3:30pm to Calgary via United at Terminal C. Do I need to go through customs and recheck bags? 2 hours enough time to connect? How do I get from E to C? any tips for speeding this connection up? Thankyou!
Yes, you will have to go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security but will not have to claim and re-check your bags since you are on an International to International connection all on United. Once you clear customs, you can either walk to C and go through security there or go through security in D or E and then walk or take the skyway to C. You have enough time.
I will arrive in houston airport terminal B and I need to go to my connecting flight at terminal D, is my 30 minutes layover enough? i'm not familiar with houston airport, can somebody tell me on what to do toavoid eny problem? thank you
It's not impossible, but it depends on everything going perfectly. You need to run to the Skyway train, take it to Terminal D, and run to your gate.
thank you Zap, however looking at the map, I can only see subway going to terminal D,
ok, skyway is in level 3, thank you very much
My flight is arriving at IAH from Francfurt Germany at 14.05 h UA 8866. My connecting fligjt to New Orleans is dept. at 17:45 h. How Long is the way to the Dept-gate? And, have I to Claim my bag and then re-check for the flight to New orleans ? thanks
Yes, you will arrive in Terminal D (first flight is operated by Lufthansa), then go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, and then go through security and to your departure gate. If the departure gate is in Terminal B you can take the Skyway train to Terminal B after you go through security.
We fly into IAH from Des Moines, IA on Feb. 17th and only have a 45 minute layover before our connecting flight to Puerto Vallarta. All of our flights are with United/United express and we plan on checking our bags to our destination. Assuming our flight arrives on schedule into IAH, should we have enough time to make our connecting flight? And will we have to go through additional security at IAH due to the international connection?
Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. if you arrive in Terminal B, you can take the Skyway train to Terminal E inside security. There is no special security for International flights.
My Flight is arriving at IAH from Brazil in Terminal D/E at 5 am & i have a connection flight in Terminal A - is that enough time to go thru Customs - will i have to get my luggage to check in again on next leg which is also united - thank NLD
Where are you flying out of IAH to? You will have to claim your bags to take them through US Customs but then can re-check them immediately after at the re-check desk before proceeding through security and to your departure terminal on the Skyway train.
I am flying to BWI on United - but didn't want to wait for a 7 hour delay - so was thinking of catching Spirit one way - so was not sure if I could put my bags thru in United and fly out on Spirit and have enough time
If you decided to fly Spirit to BWI - you would have to rip the tags off your bags, exit customs in Terminal D/E, then take the SubWay to Terminal A and re-check them with Spirit, then go through security.
My flight from DFW will land on terminal A and I have only 47 minutes to catch the next flight from terminal E. My Itinerary is throughout United. Is 47 minutes sufficient time and do I need to do security check again.
The Skyway train connects all terminals inside security. There's also a good chance you might arrive in Terminal B. You have enough time if the first flight is on-time.
Hi, I am flying from Cancun to London and connecting at IAH. My flight from Cancun is operated by United with the connecting flight operated by Austrian Airline but operated by United. The operator has changed the arrival time of my flight from Cancun and I now have only 1hr 45min to change planes. I understand I will need to go through American customs but the flights both arrive and depart from Terminal E. will we have enough time to change planes and will the stowed laugage automatically be transferred to the connecting flight?
Many thanks
Yes, that should be enough time. Yes, your bags will be automatically transferred since it's an International to International transfer all on United through Houston. You will have to go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security.
Arriving Terminal C, connecting flight from Terminal B in 45 minutes. Is it faster to walk between the Terminals or get on the Skytrain?
You have to take the Skyway train if you want to change terminals to Terminal B without having to go through security again, so definitely the Skyway.
Thank you! Saved me a lot a stress!!
I have a flight on Dec 30 from Miami to Houston and then on to Oklahoma. The airline is united for both.
Would I be able to walk from the arrival gate to the departure gate and would I need to go thru security again ?
Yes, all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. If you have to change terminals the Skyway train connects all terminals inside security.
Hi, we are flying to Houston from San Diego with United and we will arrive in Terminal C. Our next flight is going to depart from Terminal D to Istanbul with Turkish Airlines. We have been told that we will have to collect our bags at Terminal C since our connecting flights are not on the same ticket and check them in again at Terminal D. Can you tell me how can I connect from Terminal C to Terminal D after we collect our bags? Can we use the skyway, or do we have to use the subway? Will we have to go through security again, and if so at which terminal? Thanks!
You have to use the Subway or Walk. Yes, you will have to go through security again in Terminal D.
