Hi! I'll fly from Panama to Amsterdam with a 20 hr connection in Houston. I'll arrive in Houston on the 21th and will fly out on the 22nd. I'm going to couchsurf in between in Houston. Question: what has to happen with my checked in luggage? After going through immigration: will I have to check it in right away again for the connection flight the next day, or will I be able to take it with me and check it in the next day when I'm coming back? Thanks for your help!
No, in fact due to the length of your layover you won't be allowed to re-check it immediately after you clear customs.
Hi i arrive in IAH from Liberia (Costa Rica) and i have 1 h and 15 min to catch the connection for Frankfurt. All flights with United. Do i have enough time or i need to claim my luggage and security controls again? Thanks
You need to go through US Immigration, customs, and security. You don't have to claim your bags because you are on an international to international connection on United through Houston. Still, that's a nearly impossible connection.
Hi: I have 2 hrs connection. I will be arriving on a United flight at 10.34 am from Merida Yucatan and departing to Jacksonville FL on a United Flight also, but at 12:50 pm. This flight is arriving from Mexico, so I have to pass the Inmigration check, it will be enough time to catch my other flight with no delate ???
That should be enough time.
I will be traveling from Guadalajara / Mexiko to Houston with United Airlines and have 1:20 hour to change to my flight to Frankfurt / Germany. The flight to Frankfurt has an United Airlines number, but will be operated by Lufthansa. Do I need to take my laguage and will 1:20min enough to catch my flight to Frankfurt?
Thank you!
Yes, I believe you will have to claim and re-check your baggage after going through US Immigration and then go through security. This is a very difficult connection, bordering on impossible.
I am flying from Port of Spain, Trinidad (POS) to San Francisco (SFO) with a layover in Houston (IAH). I have one option with 1.5 hrs layover and another with 3 hours layover. As IAH is my first point of entry to US, I have to clear immigration and customs in IAH. Is 1.5 hours enough, or should I book the 3 hour layover flight? All flights with United.
1.5 hours is legal, but personally, I would book the 3 hours.
I have a 38 min connection. I will be arriving on a United flight from Gulfport, Mississippi and departing on a United flight to Calgary, Alberta. Will I make it?
Yes, that is enough time. Obviously it doesn't leave much time to spare if the flight from Gulfport is delayed. The Skyway train connects all terminals inside security.
Thanks so much for your response!
Hi - I am flying from ATL to Belize (BZE) via IAH on a single United reservation. The connecting time is 1 hour and United website indicated a Terminal change for this flight. Is 1 hour enough? I have 2 checked bags.
Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Skyway train connects all terminals inside security.
I arrive at 12.05pm by united airlines from McAllen with luggage connecting a BA flight at 4.05pm. How do I make my connections and between what terminals? do I have enough time to collect my luggages and locate the next terminal. How do I do this please.
If your flights are on two separate reservations yes, you will have to claim your bags from United in Terminal A or B where you arrive, then take the Subway train to Terminal D to re-check it with British Airways and then go through security. You have enough time. If your bags are tagged through to British Airways then you can just take the Skyway train to Terminal D.
thank you
I fly in to houston from chicago at 9:04 AM (terminal C) and my connecting flight to costa rica (terminal E) is at 10:20 AM. Is this enough time? also do I have to go through security again to get to terminal E from terminal C?
No you do not have to go through security again. You just have to walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.
I am connecting back through Houston from Bangkok and need to check if I have enough time. I am flying Eva airways from Bangkok and land at 10:05pm. I then turn around and catch an United flight back to Austin at 11:00pm. Is 55 minutes enough to land internationally go through customs and then make another domestic flight?
No, that is completely impossible. Plan on spending the night in Houston if you're dead-set on taking that Eva Airways flight.
