Hi, In December, I will be traveling from Quinto to San Francisco on United, with a connecting flight in IAH. I know that I will need to go through customs in IAH, retrieve my checked luggage and re check them for the domestic portion of my flight to SFO.

I am a US citizen and will arrive at 5:55am. I have two United flight to choose from for the SFO leg, one departs at 7:50 am the other at 9:40 am.

How much time should I allocate to ensure I have enought time to make my connection? Welcome your help to determine which IAH to SFO flight I should book.

The 7:50 flight should be possible.
Thanks ZAP!

What is the average time needed to get through customs, recheck luggage & get to connecting departure gate? Actual travel date is close to Christmas and wondering if holiday travel would impact the avg time through customs at that hour of the morning. THX
Coming home from Ecuador to San Francisco on United with stop in IAH. Will 1 hr 55 min layover be sufficient to clear customs to make connecting flight? Or should I choose the longer layover of 4 hrs?
2 pieces of checked luggage to transfer
Arrival at IAH at 6 AM, Departure United choices for SFO are at 7:50 am or 9:40 am
The 7:50 flight should be possible.
We are connecting to a flight to Santiago and have a little over an hour to transfer planes. Do you think that is enough time?
Yes, if the first flight is domestic and both flights are on the same reservation that is enough time.
I am flying from quito to calgary with one stop on houston. Is 1hr,55min enough time in houston? I have to do customs and migration in houston. I get there by 6am and leave by 7: 50am, how busy are those hours??
Yes, in Houston you will have to go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security. You have enough time if the flight from Quito is on-time.
We are flying from Canada to Lima, Peru, via first Denver, then IAH on a connected ticket. The Denver flight is scheduled to arrive just 30 minutes before the IAH flight to Peru. That seems very tight. Should we be concerned?
It is tight, but all you have to do in IAH is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
Hi, on July 17th I am going to fly from San Jose, Costa Rica to Minneapolis making a stop in IAH. The arrival flight is in IAH at 11:15 and the next flight to Minneapolis is at 12:50. Is that enough time to take the transfer OK? I am not US Citizen.
That is barely enough time if everything goes perfectly.
Hi I will fly into IAH from DFW on AA. I have a separate ticket on Air NZ to Auckland departing at 2210. Given the flights are not linked, what is the latest I can land in IAH in order to get my flight to New Zealand? I hopw to book the AA flight soon based on your advice. Thx
I would want at least 3 hours to be safe. So arrive by 1910.
Since we are flying from Mexico to Houston then change planes to Boston on our return trip, I know that we will have to go through customs. But will we have to retrieve our bags at customs and then re-check them in Houston for the domestic portion of IAH to BOS?
Yes, you will have to claim your bags to go through US Customs, then re-check them immediately after at the re-check desk.
We are flying in from New York (LaGuardia) to Houston on United arriving at 7.05pm and leaving on Air NZ to Auckland at 9.15pm is 2 hours 10mins enough time to transfer.
Yes, that is enough time. If both flights are on the same reservation all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
I am flying cancun to Auckland New Zealand via Houston. Will I have to collect and rent check my baggage?
