  • 90 minutes connect a flight to Lagos from SFO
    Aug 14, 2015
I am connecting a flight from SFO to LOS at 10pm and have 90 minutes layover. I am arriving in Terminal C and departing Terminal E. However, I want to say hello to a friend for less than 5 minutes at IAH. Can I make it? Where would be the best location to ask her to wait for me since I have to pass through security again?

The best location would probably be near the security checkpoint in Terminal E, so I would walk to terminal E, exit security there, meet your friend, and go back through security.

Thanks! But you do think I can make it within that time, right?

As long as your flight from SFO is on-time I think you can do it.

    Thank you!

  • 1 hour and 6 min layover

We are flying into Houston at 12:04 on UA352 and connecting to UA1252 to Orlando at 1:10. How can I find out what terminals we will be flying in and out of, and is this a realistic layover time? We are 2 adults and don't mind booking it, but neither of us have flown into this airport, so I am starting to worry about such a short layover. Thanks!

Both flights will likely be in Terminal C. There is a small chance one will be in Terminal E, but it is directly connected to C. This is definitely a doable connection.

    Thank You!

Hi! I have a flight landing from Chicago (ORD), have a 56 minute layover before my flight to Belize (BZE) departs. Will I have enough time to get to the international terminal? Will I need to go through security again?

No, you will not have to go through security. All you will have to do is walk from your departure gate in C and your departure gate in E. they are directly connected to each other. You should have enough time if your flight from Chicago is on-time.

hello....arriving from LAS to IAH then connecting to YYZ (Toronto). Do we need to go through customs in IAH? We have 55 layover time.

No, there is no US Customs when departing the US. All you have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The TerminaLink Train connects all terminals inside security. You have enough time. you will go through Canadian immigration and customs when you get to Toronto.

Hello I arrive into IAH on a domestic flight, not sure which terminal, then I have a connecting international flight out of terminal E. I only have one hour layover. Is this enough time?

It should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. The TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security.

Yes, you will go through US Immigration and Customs and security. Yes, you should have enough time.

  • Terminal A to Terminal E
    Aug 10, 2015
I have a flight arriving from Calgary, Canada at Terminal A. I have an hour and 45 minute layover. My connecting flight is at Terminal E to San salvador. Do I have enough time and what is the best way to get from Terminal A to terminal E?

The TerminaLink train connects all gates and terminals inside security. You just have to take the train from A to E. You will go through US Immigration and Customs in Calgary. You have enough time.

  • Connecting Intl flight, 1h24m enough?
    Aug 10, 2015
Hi, I have found a flight that gets into IAH Terminal E at 17:50 and the 2nd leg leaves from Terminal C and 19:14. It one flight from LHR to Guatemala with United/Austrian and the stopover is at IAH but only for 1hour 24 mins and I understand you need an ESTA and to go through immigration and change terminal. Is there enough time between flights basically? (though I assume this would not be on the website if the transfer time was not 'legal')

It's 6 minutes shorter than the recommended International to International connection time. Note that both flights will actually be in terminal E and both will be operated by United. You will have to go through US Immigration and Customs and go through security. You should not have to claim your bags since this is international to international through Houston. Yes, if you are a UK Citizen you will have to complete ESTA.

My 74 year father cannot walk the distance to his connecting flight. Is there a in-airport shuttle service that will pock him up and take him to his connecting United Airlines terminal ?

He needs to request wheelchair service from United if he cannot walk between gates. You do so by calling United.

  • 2 connections
    Aug 11, 2015
I am concerned about 2 connections at IAH. #1. Between UA 5 LHR-IAH and UA 1490 IAH-MCO on Aug 20,2015, and maybe CUSTOMS (US). #2. Between UA 1919 MCO-IAH and UA 1455 IAH-LAX on Aug 25, 2015. Both #1 & #2 seem tight as UA scheduled both..

Since you did not provide the time you have for your connections I can't tell you if you have enough time. You will go through US Immigration and Customs in Houston after arriving from London.

the flights are: #1 LHR-MCO with IAH in the middle, UA 5 is the 1st leg arriving at IAH at 17:50, perhaps Customs, to UA 1490 departing at 19:44 for MCO; #2 MCO-LAX with IAH in the middle, UA 1919 is the 1st leg arriving at 19:52, to UA 1455 departing at 20:47 for LAX. BOTH #1 & 2 at IAH seem short, help?

Yes, you have enough time both ways. All you have to do on your trip back to London is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

I will fly from Shreveport to Houston followed by a international flight to Amsterdam. I only have an hour and a half I between landing on Houston and my flight to Amsterdam! Is this enough time? Do I have to go though security again?! What do I do with my luggage?

That is plenty of time. You do not have to go through security or do anything with your baggage in Houston assuming both of your flights are on United. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You will arrive in Terminal A or B and depart from Terminal E. The TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security.

    You have enough time.

I arrive from Las Vegas (terminal C) and have a connecting flight (Terminal E) to London Heathrow of 33 minutes. The airline is the same for both flights. Is this doable? Thanks

It's possible but depends on the first flight being on-time. Preferably early.

Hi, I'm flying from Germany to Panama going through IAH, Landing at 1.45pm Terminal D and taking off at 3.05pm Terminal E, so 1h20 connection, luggage should be automaticaly transfered. Please could you tell me if I will have enough time? Do I need to go through security? Thank you very much

That will be difficult. It's 10 minutes below the minimum time and 40 minutes shorter than what I recommend. You will have to go through US Immigration, customs, and security.

Really? I've just read that I go straight to the terminal E from the D as I come from abroad and I go abroad, I have no security, please could you confirm your reply? Thanks a lot

You read Incorrectly, nobody is allowed to transit the US without going through US Immigration, Customs and Security. Other countries have this, but not the US. It is also true that you can walk from Terminal D to E and vise-versa but not right after an international arrival.

  • Can I Make My connecting flight?
    Aug 2, 2015
On 2/10/16 I arrive from Cancun at 7:43 pm depart for OKC at 9:15 pm Will I make my flight? ( I'm a camerican citizen on vacation)

Do you consider yourself a really lucky person? IF you arrive to IAH on time, IF you don't arrive at the same time as about 5 other international flights arrive or if you have Global Entry, IF your bags have the United Priority tag so you can get them at baggage claim first, and IF there is not a long line for customs (or once again, if you have Global Entry) then you have to recheck your bags just past customs and you will probably have to go to another terminal by walking or via the tram. In a perfect world you could make the connection, but not likely.

Flying from Sao Pablo to San Francisco with a connection in Houston. I have to go from TERMINAL E To C. Is 2 hours connection time enough?

Yes, in Houston you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your gate. That should be enough time.
