My kids and I are flying to HNL on United out of terminal C. We plan on arriving to the airport at least 2 hours early to go through security. If we have plenty of time to go to the centurion lounge in terminal D- how much time does it generally take to get from D/E back to C gates on the skytram?

Honolulu flights almost always use Terminal E.

Hi, I'll be flying from London to Managua with a 1:35h connection in IAH (flight UA879 and then UA1421). Does it seem reasonable ? The next flight to Managua is the next day so I really don't want to miss this connection.

That is just enough time if everything goes perfectly.

Thanks! It seems that I both land and take-off in Terminal E, which is already good news. I hope people in the line will be nice with us :)

NRT(UA)-IAH(UA)-MEX Do I need picup my baggage at IAH? OR MEX?

Since it's International to International all on United through Houston, you don't need to claim your bags in Houston, but you will still need to go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security.

Thank you sir, Is it all company same rule? my friend go there by NH and UA.

If he is flying ANA from Japan he WILL have to claim his bags in Houston and re-check them at the re-check desk.

Okey its ONLY UA airline rule. so He hav to pick up the baggage and check again and I just go custom area. Thank you so much.

Flying in from Port of Spain- flight lands at 2:15PM at Terminal E. Next flight is at 4:03 PM -not sure which terminal. Would I have enough time to clear and board?

Your flight to San Francisco will depart from C or E. You have enough time if the flight from Trinidad is on-time and everything goes smoothly.

I have a Japanese passport and have to make a transite from NRT (Japan) to BOG (Colombia) and I have only 100 minutes. There is possible to make this connection?

Must add. I have a Japanese passport and I'm using the same airline in both flights.

That should be enough time if the flight from Tokyo is on-time.

what gate numbers do flights from Puerto Rico tend to land? Our flight lands at 10 AM and our flight out leaves at 10:35 AM. What gate number is two flights from Houston to San Francisco tend to leave?

  • Do I need to take my bags out of airport for long layover?

Hi, I have a flight in a couple months with a 23 hour layover in Houston from Central America to Canada. Obviously, I'll be staying at a hotel, but I'm wondering whether I need to take my luggage with me to the hotel or if it is left at the airport waiting for the next flight.

Due to the length of your layover, you will have to claim your bags and then re-check it before your flight to Canada.

  • 50 mins from ORF to SNA

I will be arriving from ORF on United and have 50 mins to catch a connection to SNA. Is this enough time? Will I need to jump terminals? Are flights from ORF typically on time?

Yes, that is enough time if the first flight is on-time. You will arrive in Terminal A, B, or C and depart from Terminal C. The Skyway train connects all terminals inside security.

Thank you ZAP! How much time do I need to make these connections? Trying to gauge if I should chance it with a 50 min layover or play it safe with a 2 hr layover, but lose sleep by catching the 6:20am flight? I had a lot of flight delays and cancellations in 2015 and now I'm overly cautious if I can help it.

I recommend 45 minutes for a domestic to domestic connection in Houston. The good news is that there should be later flights to SNA if you miss your connection.

  • San Antonio to Singapore Via Houston IAH

Travelling back to Singapore from San Antonio with a domestic flight to terminal A followed by international departure from terminal D. How much time do I need for customs checks please? Not US citizen

There is no US Customs when leaving the US. What airline are you flying from San Antonio?

  • Terminal E to C flying through IAH from MEX to CAN

I have 1hr 27min to connect to my flight from MEX to CAN @ IAH (Arriving @ Term E to Departing @Term C) Will I need to go through CBP or is it just a pass through? Is this enough time to make the connection or should I be concerned? Thx in advance.

You will have to go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security. You need at least 90 minutes and if you are a Mexican citizen you need a transit visa.

Didn't realize how sprawling IAH is. Booked flights from ORD to Midland with a 40 min layover in IAH. Is this doable? If using the secured train shuttle is another security scan needed? Thanks

It's possible. The Skyway train allows you to change terminals without having to go through security again.

  • Enough Connection Time?

I am taking a flight from CRP to IAH, which arrives at 2:05 pm at either terminal B or C. Then, on a separate ticket with British Airways, I leave at 4:00 at terminal D. Is that enough time between gates for security and arrival to gate? I will take carry on baggage.

With carry-ons I think that is enough time. If you are able to check in online you can go straight to your departure gate on the Skyway train without going through security.

I will fly To IAH with a carry on bag on a domestic flight on one ticket with United; then, with a separate ticket, I will fly out of IAH British Airways to London and then to Rome. My questions are two: do I have to go through security, customs, and/or immigration before heading to British Airlines? or do I get on the Sky train to tgo straight to the international terminal and then my passport will be checked at the gate? I have a two-hour layover when arriving in IAH terminal B or C to get to British Airways in terminal D. Dio I have time?

Hi. We have Global Entry. We are traveling from Budapest on KLM arriving in IAH at 1:05. Can we make a 3:00 flight on United? That's 1:55 hours. Thank you!

With checked bags that would be pretty difficult. With no checked bags I think that would be enough time.

  • Layover enough time?

Thinking about taking a domestic flight from Nashville to Honolulu with a two hour layover at IAH. Would this be enough time? It would on United. I'm not sure if I will have to go through security again.

Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. If you have to change terminals the Skyway train connects all terminals inside security. You don't have to go through security again.

Flying from SJO (Costa Rica) to FRA (Frankfurt) 1:15h connecting time. Same airline. Do I have to recheck bags? Is there enough connecting time?

You have to go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security but do not have to claim and re-check your bags. This is a very difficult connection, bordering on impossible.

    Thanks!

Reading this makes me think no but I'm a Canadian citizen flying from Canada to mexico all through united but with only an hour layover at iah. Is this even remotely possibly enough time? would be at 10 in the morning.

Yes, that is enough time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Canada. All you have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

Thank you! On the return flight though it is the same flying from Mexico with a stop at IAH on to Canada. All on united. There is a 1h45m layover. Is this enough time?

Yes, that is enough time if everything goes smoothly.

I noticed there's a terminal change as well. Won't tell me which terminal though. If I just have carry on luggage will this be okay? Was also thinking about downloading the mobile passport app, Does this actually speed up the process? I've heard of other airports having dedicated lines for app users is this true at IAH?
