Hi, im flying from belize to montreal and im wondering if 1.5 hours is enough for my connection in IAH. Also if someone could talk me through the steps ill have to take that would be great! My flights are with united airlines.

You will arrive in Terminal E, go through US Immigration, claim your baggage, then go through US Customs. Then re-check your bags with United at the re-check desk, then go up to the departure level and go through security and to your departure gate, which will be in Terminal C which is connected to Terminal E.

Also, 90 minutes should be enough time if your first flight is on-time.

  • can i make this??

arriving on United flight, terminal b with 30 min to departure in terminal c, united flight to Calgary. can i make it?

Yes, it's possible, but doesn't leave any time for delays. The TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security.

Am arriving via BA from LHR at 1430. Connecting on United Airlines to MCO at 15.40. I have 2 kids, 11 and 8. Will I have enough time?? Any help appreciated.

That will be a very difficult connection. Did you buy both tickets on one reservation? You will arrive in Terminal D, have to clear immigration, claim your baggage, go through US customs, and re-check your baggage, then get your United boarding passes, go through security and to Terminal C for departure. That is very hard to do in only 70 minutes.

  • Connection possible?

UA 4438 from Hobbs, NM is scheduled to arrive in B @ 9:25am. Connecting flight UA201 to Honolulu is scheduled to depart @ 10am in E. My husband can't run. Will we be able to make the connection?

Does not look good - At IAH the above-ground TerminaLink train inside security starts at Terminal A station & connects terminals A, B, C, D/E (a 30 mins transfer); from there you would need another few minutes. (At TE, gates to the left are E1- E11, to the right gates E12- E24.)

30 minutes is a bit long. 20 is more reasonable. Your flight from Hobbs could also get in early. If you miss your connection United will re-book you to Hawaii through Los Angeles, Denver, or San Francisco.

Flying PIT to LIM connecting in Houston, is an hour and 50 minutes enough to connect? Do we have to go through customs in Houston?

No, you do not have to go through customs in Houston, only in Lima, on your way to Lima (on the return trip you will go through US Immigration in Houston). You should have plenty of time. You will arrive in Terminal B or C and depart from Terminal E. All Terminals are connected inside security by the TerminaLink train.

what about returning through Newark 1hour and 43 minutes to connect and go through customs?

That's a bit tighter, but it's doable. You will go through immigration and customs in Terminal C at EWR, then re-check your bags with United. Then you will have to see if your departing flight to Pittsburgh is leaving from Terminal C or A. If it leaves from C you can just go up to the departure level and through security and to your gate, but if it leaves from A you will have to take the AirTrain to Terminal A first.

15 of us connecting in IAH from Calgary YYC on way to FLL on United. We have a 70 minute connection time. Is this enough? Any idea which terminal we would fly in and out of? Would they be connected?

That should be enough time. You will preclear us immigration in Calgary. Both flights will likely be in terminal C.

Arriving from Chicago at terminal C and departing from terminal E to Guadalajara , layover is 40 min.... Is it enough time?

Yes, if your first flight is on-time it should be OK. Note however that the IAH-GDL flights operated by United Express mostly depart from Terminal B, not Terminal E. However, the TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security.

Arriving from London at gate E with a stop over of 45mins at IAH flying on to San Antonio from gate C. Is 45mins enough time to clear customs and catch my connecting flight?

No, that is not enough time. Did United change your schedule? You need at least 90 minutes for an International->Domestic connection.

We have a confirmed itinary from London to San Antonio with United but the flights were booked through American Express who have just sent me an amendment confirmation changing stop over time down to 45mins

You need to contact American Express and tell them you need to be rebooked with a longer connection.

arriving at terminal A from yyz and departing from terminal C to phx. 60min to make the connection - doable?

You're flying on Air Canada from YYZ? Yes, that should be plenty of time. A and C are connected inside security by the TerminaLink train and your connection shouldn't take more than 20 minutes.

Yep - flying AC from YYZ and clearing customs in Toronto. Good to know it is only about 20min - hopefully there are no weather delays. Thanks for the feedback and I'll be sure to look for the TerminaLink train! Cheers

Flying from Vancouver to Pittsburgh with a one hour layover in Houston. Is that enough time and will I have to clear U.S. customs?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Vancouver. All you will have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. If they are in different terminals, the TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security.

  • Connection IAH/SAN

I will arrive in IAH at 5:20 AM from GIG, and taking flight to SAN at 7:10. Both United flights. Will I have enough time to pass security and customs?

Sorry! Connection in IAH is to SFO, and not SAN!

Yes, you will go through US Immigration, claim your baggage, go through US customs, and then re-check your baggage in Houston Terminal E. You will then go up to the departure level and through security and to your gate, which will likely be in Terminal C, which is connected to E.

  • 39 Minute Connection Time??
    Jan 26, 2014

I have a 39 minute connection time at IAH on my United flight from Mobile, Alabama to Panama City, Panama. Should I be worried about myself or my bags not making this flight?

It's pretty tight. You will arrive in Terminal A or B and will have to take the TerminaLink Train (which runs inside security) to Terminal E. You will have enough time if your first flight is on-time but you'll have to hurry.

Any help? Im Arriving from XNA (Arkansas) at 8:02 need to connect with Flight 1169 at Gate E8 boarding at 8:03, departs 8:48 Can I make this?

Yes, but there is not much room for delays. You will arrive in Terminal A or B and will have to take the TerminaLink Train to Terminal E. However, if you are on United 1169 from IAH to LAX, that flight usually leaves from Terminal C, not Terminal E. However, the procedure is the same, except that you take the TerminaLink to C, not E.

I am flying in from Midland Texas...my flight 4186 29 Jan is scheduled to arrive at 8:43 a B gate.... my flight 201 for Guam leaves at 9:20 gate E4 enough time/

Yes, that should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. You just have to take the TerminaLink train which runs inside security from B to E. Also note that UA201 goes to Honolulu first before continuing on to Guam.

Can anybody help us with information regarding a connection from Managua to Toronto through Houston? Will we need to reclaim and recheck our bags, pass customs/security, etc? We aside in terminal e and depart in terminal a

Yes, you will have to claim your bags after clearing Immigration, then clear customs, then re-check your bags. You can then take the Inter-Terminal train to Terminal A and go through security (I'm assuming your flight to YYZ is on Air Canada, is that correct?).

Yes, correct. We have an hour and 5 minutes to make it. Do we stand a chance? Is there anything we can do to speed up the process? Rush baggage...anything? Appreciate the help very much

That will be pretty hard and I believe that is less than the minimum connection time for International->International at IAH. You should not have been allowed to purchase that ticket. Did you buy it from Air Canada or United?

It was purchased through expedia.ca and the flight numbers and tickets are through air Canada.

United lists a minimum connection time of 90 minutes for all International connections. You could call Expedia and tell them about this and ask them to change you to a different flight. Or you could just try the connection (it is possible, just difficult) and if you don't make it, just be prepared that you may be stuck in Houston for awhile until Air Canada or United can rebook you. Expedia really shouldn't have sold you that ticket.
