i am travelling from Santiago Chile to SFO by United Airways. i have a transit at IAH for 100minutes. Will it be sufficient for me to clear the immigration and switch to the SFO flight.
That is just enough time if everything goes perfectly.
Hi, in 8/10 we flying from Austin to Hartford, CT and our connect flight is in Houston. Our layover is only 42 minutes. I was wondering if it's enough time to make a flight, considering our landing going to be in terminal B at IAH and departure at terminal C. Also, what happens if we are late for the second flight. ( it's the latest one in the evening to Hartford). Thanks
That's enough time if the first flight is on-time. The Skyway train connects all terminals inside security. If you miss your connection it will likely be too late to get you to Hartford over another United hub, so you'll probably be stuck overnight in Houston.
Would United airlines have to book me a hotel and next morning flight, or would it be on me?
It would only be their responsibility if the first flight was delayed due to a mechanical problem.
I should clarify. The Hotel will only be their responsibility if there is a mechanical problem. They will rebook you on a flight the next morning regardless of the reason you missed the connection (since there is only one flight from Houston to Hartford, they would rebook you to connect over another United hub such as Chicago or Washington DC).
I have an Indian Passport and will be traveling from New York to Tegucigalpa (honduras) via Houston on 11th Aug 2017. I will be reaching Houston at 9:14 AM and within 58 Mins I have the next flight. Do I need to claim my baggage at the transit? Will I be able to catch the flight in such a short time? Any tips for making the process faster.
There is no US Immigration or Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do in Houston on your way to Tegucigalpa is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.
Can you go through customs without rechecking luggage and/or security ? We have a Global Entry account
If you are connecting to somewhere else in the US then you have to claim your bags to bring them through US Customs. if you are connecting outside the US and both flights are on United, then you don't have to claim your bags. Regardless, you have to go through security.
Thank you. But my question was whether or not I need to RECHECK the bags and go though security again ? Any simpler way ? (like customs exit into a secure area and special recheck in ?
Yes, you have to claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check them at the re-check desk, and go through security. Everyone entering the US has to do this when they have a connection.
Looking at a flight for my parents that comes into Houston from Instanbul Turkey and then they have 1 hour 35 minute layover to catch their flight to Kansas City. It would be the last flight to Kansas City that night presumably leaving at 09:30pm. My parents are in their 70s and will likely have a few bags. Would this be enough time? If they were to miss their flight are there hotels nearby they could go to and catch a morning flight, if it exists?

Do you know if there is a porter service to help older people?
That is just enough time if everything goes smoothly. There is no porter service for international flights. There are numerous hotels near the airport.
Dear Ms/Mr,

I'll be flying from Amsterdam to Dallas (DFW), with a transfer at Houston (IAH). I'll have 1 hour and 50 minutes to transfer, would this be enough? If my plane is delayed, is there any advice you could give me? I'll be flying on the 21st of August and landing at IAH at 14.25, the flight to Dallas leaves at 16.15.

Kind regards,

Davey
That is just enough time if everything goes smoothly. If you are delayed then you will be rebooked on a later flight to Dallas.
Alright thank you.
My flight from Panama City to Houston is with United Airlines, we have 2 hours 40 minutes stop-over for next flight to Frankfurt with Lufthansa (we have no bags).
Is that time enough? And both airlines are to and from terminal E?
You will arrive in E and depart from D (assuming you mean Panama City, Panama, not Panama City, Florida). You have enough time.
I'll flight from Vietnam to New Orleans with 2 different airlines, Korean Air (SGN-ICN-IAH) and American Airline (IAH-DFW-MSY) because I bought 2 seperated tickets. From my knowledge, international arrivals will be in terminal D or E, but I have to go to AA's checkin counter in terminal A. How can I go from D or E to A with my checked baggages?
You can take the SubWay train from D to A underground outside security with your bags.
Can I get on the train with cart?
Hi there, I am flying New Zealand to Houston, arrive on air NZ at IAH at 2.55pm and depart on a UA flight for New York from terminal c at 6.10pm. Will I have enough time to clear immigration, customs and security and make my connection? I am traveling with my 6 year old so want to be super prepared.
Yes, that is enough time.
hello , I am travelling to Pune, India from Monterrey-Houston-Frankfort-Pune.
Do i need to make immigration at HOUSTON for connecting flight ? Does the baggage get connected from Airlines ( Lufthansa)
Yes, in Houston you have to go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security. You should not have to claim your bags. if you are an Indian citizen you will need a US transit visa.
Thanks a lot
