  • Connection MTY-IAH-DFW and DFW-IAH-MTY
    Dec 31, 2015

Hi, my sister and I have a roundtrip flight this january 1st, 2015 from MTY ( Mexico)-DFW ( Dallas,Tx) and returning on January 5th. Both flights (with United Airlines) have connection in Houston (IAH). From MTY Arriving (Terminal E) at 19:30PM and a flight departing from IAH to DFW ( Terminal C) at 21:05PM having 1hr 35min to make the connection. Is enough time to go through US Immigration and Customs,I-94,etc? But I'm worried more about the return (DFW-MTY). From DFW Arriving ( Terminal C) at 8:05AM and the flight to MTY is departing (Terminal B) at 9:00AM, giving us only 55 mins, it is enough time for us? For the return (to MTY) our baggage will be transferred (no need to re-check)? Do we have to pass the US immigration and customs? (Like returning the I-94 form, etc)? Thanks!!! and Happy New Year!!!

On your entry you have enough time but just barely. On your return all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security. You do not go through US Immigration when exiting the US. Also, the paper I-94 form was eliminated last year. Exit is recorded electronically by airline manifests.

  • 50 min transfer

I have a 50 minute transfer time between arriving from Miami and departing to Edmonton AB Canada. Is that enough time? Also, will our baggage be automatically transferred?

Yes, your baggage will automatically be transferred. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. If you need to change terminals the TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security. You have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

  • International Layover at Houston in 1.20hrs?

Hello, I am from Germany and I am considering taking a flight tomorrow from Munich and I have to catch the flight to Bogota within 1:20hrs. Is this enough? Last year I did not make it as I did not have an onward ticket, but this year maybe that is not a problem. Thanks for your help!

It will still be quite difficult. That is 10 minutes shorter than the recommended time for such a connection. It's possible, but difficult.

I am flying from Belize to San Francisco on United tomorrow 30 the December. I have a 2.5 hour connection ti e - what are immigration clearance times like right now - do I have to collect luggage and re-check-in for the IAH to SFO flight?

That should be enough time. Yes, you will have to claim your baggage, go through US Customs, then re-check at the transfer desk, then go through security and to your departure gate.

  • From chicago to houston to san jose

We have 40 min to connect to a flight leaving to San Jose coming into Houston from Chicago on United Airlines. Whats the probability we make the flight ? It is called a legal flight set up by United Airlines. I am worried cuz I have never left Chicago on time.

It's possible if your flight is on-time but obviously there isn't much time to spare in case of delays. Because the flight is between two United hubs and lots of passengers are connecting, United tries especially hard to make these flights on-time if they can.

I'm considering booking a flight from Las Vegas to Frankfurt through IAH with a 1h 36 minute layover. Is that enough time, terminal C - terminal D ?

Yes. That is plenty of time.

  • Oaxaca, Mexico to Calgary, Canada with a layover in Houston

I am flying from Oaxaca to Houston tomorrow where I land in Terminal E and then carry on with my connection to Calgary, Canada from Terminal C. Since this is an international flight will I have to re-check my bags and go through customs in Houston? Also, is an 1.5 hour lay over enough time to change terminals. Thanks

You will have to go through US Immigration and Customs. However, the policy is that since you are on an International to International connection, you will not have to claim your bags in Houston. However, please confirm that with the United agents in Oaxaca and Houston.

Also, you should have enough time but do not have much to spare in case of delays.

Thanks so much for the help!

  • Connection from terminal B to E
    Dec 22, 2014

We have a 40 min. connection time on 12/25. Looks like we will arrive in terminal B, and then depart from terminal E. How long does it take to go from B to E? Worried that we won't make it...

The TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security. You have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

Is there a way to go from Terminal C to Terminal A to make a connecting flight without having to clear security again? I have a short connection and want to find the fastest way to get to the second gate.

Yes, the TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security.

  • I have enough time?

On 25 dic I land in IAH at 14.25 from Paris(Air France) with a connecting flight to Mexico City at 16.10 (Aeromexico). Ticket is issued from Delta. Is that enough time to make the connecting flight? Will my checked luggage go through directly or do I have to claim it and go through security? What terminal do I arrive in and what terminal do I leave from? Thank you.

Both your flights will be in Terminal D. You will likely have to claim your luggage to go through customs then re-check it after customs at the transfer desk, but ask the Air France agent upon arrival. You should barely have enough time.

Should note that I am flying United throughout. Thanks

Yes, that should be enough time. You will arrive in Terminal E and likely depart from Terminal C.

  • Guatemala City to Houston , Houston to new york.

Hi there, We are concerned about our connecting time through Houston airport (flights booked with Bravofly). We fly Guatemala City to Houston George Bush Terminal E with United Airlines on Dec 23rd, landing in Houston at 10:04am. We then have a connecting flight leaving from Terminal B at 11:30am also with United Airlines to New York. We are concerned that 1hr 35 mins isn't enough time, especially going through customs from an international flight and connecting to a domestic flight. Do you think we should be looking at changing our connecting flight? It's a shame that Bravo-fly leave such a short window. Do you know if we remove our bags and recheck them in, or is that done for us? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Daisy

You will arrive in Terminal E, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk immediately after customs. Then go through security and to your departure gate. Your flight to New York will likely depart from Terminal C, not B. 1 hr 26 mins is 4 minutes below the minimum connection time for such a connection. However, if you miss your connection United has lots of flights from Houston to New York that you can be rebooked on.

Aloha, I am traveling from HNL-IAH on United and then connecting to BA to London. Unfortunately we will be at IAH for about 8 hours till our BA flight leaves for London. My question is what terminal will I arrive at in HNL and what terminal will I have to go to for London? Will I have to pick up my luggage at baggage claim and then send it thru again for London? These are two separate tickets one with United & the other with BA. When will I have to go thru customs and/or immigration, I've never done this before.

You will arrive in Terminal E and depart from Terminal D. Since you purchased two separate tickets you will have to claim your baggage with United, wait until the BA ticket counter opens, and re-check it. You do not go through US Immigration when leaving the US.

Hi, I am arriving from Amsterdam and connecting through to Los Angeles and my layover is only 1 hr and 14 min. Will that be enough time?

That is 16 minutes below the minimum connection time. I would call who you booked your tickets through and ask to be put on a later flight to Los Angeles.

Hy, I am arriving at 2:20pm from Frankfurt and I will have to fly to Miami at 5:00pm . 4 Lagguage which i will make lagguage tag in Frankfurt for MIA. Is the connection time for Immigration enough? Anything I need to know? last time Houston immigration took me almost 2 hrs

You will arrive in Terminal E, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk. Then go up to the departure level and through security and to your departure gate which will likely be in Terminal C.
