I am travelling from Toronto Pearson International to San Jose (Costa Rica) through IAH. I have 45 mins connection time. Would this be enough? I am European.

Yes, that should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Terminalink train connects all terminals inside security. There is little time to spare if your flight from Toronto is late.

I'm landing at IAH from London at 1.55 and my connecting flight to VPS leaves at 4:02, is this enough time to clear immigration. Flying United so don't think my bags get checked the whole way through. Any ideas on terminals? Thank you!

That should be plenty of time. You will arrive in Terminal E, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go up to the departure level, go through security and take the TerminaLink train to your departure terminal (Likely B, possibly A).

thank you very much for your speedy reply

US residents flying in from San Salvador with a family of 6/ with luggage, to IAH and only have 1:20 minute layover. Is 1:20 minutes enough time to make it through customs and on to the connecting flight?

It's 10 minutes shorter than the recommended time and you have a lot of people and luggage. It depends on your flight arriving from San Salvador on-time and you moving as quickly as possible.

Does it look like flights will be cancelled tomorrow, the 17th of June?:

The storms are likely to continue through tomorrow and there are likely to be cancellations tomorrow. All airlines have issued a waiver allowing changes to tickets involving Houston without a change fee.

I have a connection time for 1hr 28 min coming from Frankfurt to catch my flight to Orlando ,FL. Will this be enough time with carry on luggage only to go through Customs?

Yes, with carry-on only that should be plenty of time.

Thank for you response I was forced into this scenario for work. I feel a lot better now!

Could you please help me out if 1h 50mins connection time from Frankfurt to Austin at 1:50PM Saturday should be enough considering Immigration office, luggage pick up and drop of f and security.

Forgot to tell it is Lufthansa

That should be enough time if your flight from Frankfurt is on-time. If you miss your connection, United flies many flights from Houston to Austin.

Thank you for the quick response ZAP!

I have a 1 hr 20 min connection at IAH traveling from LGA to ZIH. Is this enough time if I am checking a bag?

Yes, that is plenty of time. All you have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate in Terminal C to your departure gate in Terminal B. The TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security. There is no US Immigration or customs when leaving the US.

I am flying into Houston tomorrow morning from DCA on United, I have a connecting to Honolulu. If my flight is on time I have about an hour to get to my connecting flight, is that enough time? Also how are the delays right now? I know Houston is about to get some bad weather

Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Yes, there is a chance of storms in Houston tomorrow but the chance of storms is higher late in the day, after your flight. Also, it storms in Houston quite a bit so they are pretty good at dealing with that sort of weather.

My French 16 year old son will be travelling alone from POS to SEA with a connection in Houston. Both legs of the journey are with United Airlines. Just noticed that he has to change terminals!! On the way to Seattle he has over 2 hours in layover, but on the way back he only has just over one hour to change terminals!! Is that enough time? He has never travelled alone! Will United check the luggage straight through from POS to Seattle? And the same for the return? Thanks!!....Worried Mom!!

On the way from POS to SEA, in Houston he will arrive in Terminal E, go through US Immigration, claim his bags, go through US Customs, re-check his bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and to his departure gate. He will depart from Terminal C which is connected to C. All he has to do on his way back from Seattle to POS in Houston is go from his arrival gate in C to his departure gate in E. He just has to follow the signs.

Thanks for the quick reply! But what about the timing?Terminals C and E are how far in walking distance from each other? Is the 1 hour on the way back to POS from Seattle, through Houston too short?

It is a short or moderate walk, not too far. 1 hour on the way back to POS should be sufficient.

    Thank you!! :)

We fly Amsterdam to Houston Terminal E with a connecting flight to Cancun. Have we to collect the bags and have we to go trough US Immigration and Security. Is it the same procedure on the way back fron Cancun via Houston to Amsterdam?

Both ways you will not have to claim your bags since you are on an international to international connection. however, both ways you will have to go through US Immigration and Security.

I'm flying into IAH from Shreveport at 6:31am tomorrow my next flight leaves from gate c16 at 7:15 does this give me enough time?

That's enough time if your first flight is on-time. You will arrive in A or B. It is connected to C inside security by the TerminaLink train.

Hi, I am flying into Houston from Germany and then flying to Florida. I only have an hour and a half. Is that enough time to go through passport control, claim baggage, go through customs and then recheck my baggage? What happens if I don't have enough time and am not able to pick up my luggage in Houston before I have to board my flight? Thanks

That should be enough time if your flight from Germany is on-time. If your flight is delayed United will book you on the next available flight to your destination.

    Thanks much!

we are traveling from st louis to cozumel with a 45 minute layover in houston (IAH). Wjill we have to claim and recheck baggage? Is this enough time? Thanks

No, you do not go through US Customs when leaving the US. You will not have to claim your baggage in Houston on your way to Cozumel. All you have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate (likely in Terminal B) to your departure gate in Terminal E. The TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security. You have enough time if your first flight is on-time. However, you don't have much time to spare if it's late.

We will be arriving in Houston from Sacramento with 30 minutes to catch a flight to London-Heathrow. Is this enough time?

It's enough time but it really leaves no time to spare. Be prepared to run to your departure gate in Terminal E.

My mum will be arriving in terminal A, and has another flight from terminal D. She will be carrying 2 large check-in bags and a small carry-on. Since carts are not allowed on the inter-terminal trains, is there any where she can go/call to get assistance with her bags to terminal D?

She can try to find a skycap in the Terminal A baggage claim. However, there's no guarantee there will be any there, and they work for tips. She could also purchase and pack a foldable luggage cart in her checked baggage.
