  • Transit without visa?
    May 1, 2015
Do you know if a Colombian citizen without a USA visa can connect through Houston between Bogota and Calgary?

No, you will have to acquire a United States Transit Visa.

    Thank you!

  • A to E in 52 mins
    Apr 30, 2015
Just booked a flight where I have to get from terminal A to terminal E in 52 minutes . Arriving from Toronto at 11:07pm and departing at 11:59pm. Am I going to make it? or do I have to reschedule? Will I also have to go through customs?

You will go through US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. You just have to take the TerminaLink train from A to E. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

I'm arriving from Frankfurt on Lufthansa LH7601 operated for United Airlines at 17:55 and departing for Guatemala on United UA1502 at 19:10h. Only 1 hour and 15 minutes. Will I have enough time to to reclaim my bags, check in and make it to the gate?

You will not have to claim and re-check your bags since you are on an International to International connection, but you will have to go through US Immigration and Customs and Security. You will have barely enough time if your flight from Frankfurt is on-time.

i'm traveling from Raleigh NC to mexico and i like to know how hard or difficult be to get to terminal b from terminal c. i only have 50 minutes to do this

The TerminaLink train connects B and C inside security. it shouldn't take more than 15 minutes.

I'm flying from Mexico (SJD) to Toronto (YYZ) with an 1hr 15min layover in Houston (IAH). Is this enough time? Both flights are with United Airlines - will the gates be in the same terminal?

That is 15 minutes shorter than the recommended time as you will have to go through US Immigration and Customs and Security and possibly change terminals (Toronto flights can leave from B, C, or E). You will arrive in E. It's possible, but it leaves no time to spare if there are any delays.

  • 39 minutes connecting time for domestic flight
    Apr 24, 2015
My flight is from Memphis to Las Vegas via IAH by United Airlines on June 7, 2015. The connecting time is only 39 minutes. Do I need to checkin the luggages again?

  • Is 39 minutes enough for connecting time for domestic flight?
    Apr 25, 2015
My flight is from Memphis to Las Vegas via IAH by American Airlines on June 7, 2015. The connecting time is only 39 minutes. Do I need to checkin the luggages again?

American Airlines does not fly from Memphis to IAH or IAH to Las Vegas. Please double check your itinerary.

    Sorry. It's United Airline.

Yes, that should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. You will likely arrive in Terminal B and depart from Terminal C. They are connected inside security by the TerminaLink train.

Also, no, you don't have to do anything with your checked luggage in Houston.

  • From A to B - inside security train?
    Apr 23, 2015
Arriving A29 and meeting rest of group in B (United) - is there a terminal link train inside security like there is at DFW? Thanks.

Yes, the TerminaLink train runs inside security and the Inter-Terminal train runs outside security.

  • UA SFO Terminal C - UA Terminal C
    Apr 23, 2015
Flying from SFO, arrive Terminal C, transfer to international flight from Terminal D, with 66 minutes layover. Can I walk to Terminal D? Is there enough time? Do I stay in security area?

Yes, you can walk from C to D inside security. You should have enough time.

  • RIO-IAH-FRA Connection
    Apr 22, 2015
I am flying from Rio to Frankfurt via Houston. I will arrive on UA 128 and connect to LH 441. Do I need to claim my baggage at IAH and recheck them? It´s only one ticket. My layover is circa 10 hours. What do you suggest to do? I have two children (12 and 4 years). Thanks for your help!

The policy is that because you are on an international to international connection you should not have to claim your baggage in Houston. There's not much to do in or around the airport in Houston.

  • MEX-IAH-FRA Flight connection
    Apr 22, 2015
Hi, I will arrive on UA628 from MEX and Connecting to LH419 to FRA. Since layover is only 1h24 would that be sufficient? Thanks for any help!!

Arriving in Termianl E and departing from D...

It's possible, but difficult. You will have to go through US Immigration and Customs and Security. You should not have to claim your bags since you are on an international to International connection. It is 6 minutes below the recommended International to International connection time.

Hi I am flying from Cancun to Orange County with a layover in Houston, I am arriving to terminal E, need to go through customs and then arrive to terminal C. The time between flights is only 2hrs, do you think I can make it on time?

    Yes, that is enough time.

  • Istanbul-Houston-Austin
    Apr 21, 2015
I am arriving to Houston from Istanbul by Turkish Airlines and will fly to Austin by United. Which terminal I will be in Houston after arrival and which terminal I have to head for checking in to Austin. And what is the best way connecting the terminals within a short time?

You will arrive in Terminal D. If you purchased your tickets together Turkish should be able to tag your bags through to Austin and issue both boarding passes in Istanbul. You will have to claim your bags to go through Customs but if they are tagged through to AUS then you can re-check them at the transfer desk right after customs then proceed directly to security. You will depart from Terminal B or C.

Thank you for great help. Tickets are purchased separately. Houston- Austin leg is operated by United. I have to go transfer desk or I am gonna go to the terminal B or C and check in there?

You may be able to either re-check your bags at the Transfer desk (make sure you don't just hand them the bags and leave, make sure they are tagged to AUS first - some transfer desks have the capability to re-tag bags, some do not) or yes, you could take them on the Inter-Terminal Train to Terminal B or C and re-check them there.

Also, you could show your United confirmation to the Turkish agent in Istanbul. Since they are both in Star Alliance they should be able to join your bookings and tag your bags through to Austin, which would mean you can easily re-check them at the transfer desk, but may still have to get your boarding pass from United in Houston.

  • Enough time?
    Apr 21, 2015
My UA795 flight from SEA lands at 12:00 at IAH and my connecting UA 4503 flight to BTR leaves at 12:50. Boarding ends at 12:35. Is this enough time to make my flight? Do you recommend checking a bag?

That should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. Boarding doesn't really end at 12:35. In fact it barely will have started by then. The TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security. You will arrive in C or E and depart from A or B. You can check a bag.

  • Connection time from Terminal C to Terminal D
    Apr 20, 2015
We plan to flight to Frankfurt via Houston (IAH), but have only 79 mins for transferring flights. Having two kids, I am concerned about connection time. If we land at a gate in Terminal C, should we go through security again to get Terminal D? Is 79 minutes enough to catch our connecting flight, along with two kids? Any comments would be appreciated. Thank you.

No, you do not have to go through security between C and D, You can just walk between the two terminals. You should have plenty of time if your first flight is on-time.
