Hartford-Brainard Airport HFD is a Class D, public airport, located three miles southeast of downtown Hartford, Connecticut and is owned by the Connecticut Department of Transportation (ConnDOT). Atlantic Flight Service, a fixed-base operator, and two flight schools: Metro Flight Services, LLC and Premier Flight Center, are on the premises. Hartford-Brainard Airport covers 201 acres, containing three runways and one helipad. There is a restaurant within the airport (Brainard Airport Cafe, tel: 960-241-1114). Other restaurants and fast-food facilities are a half mile from the Airport. Days Inn (860-247-DAYS and Park Inn (860-525-9306) are both half a mile from the Airport.
Presently no commercial airlines serve the airport. The Airport is open Mo-Fri 24 hrs/day and Sat/Sun from 6am-midnight - Tel: 860-576-7057.
