Hi I am flying to Atlanta from Manchester with Virgin then flying through to Los Angeles with Delta so Atlanta is just the change over airport. I have read a lot of bad comments and wondered whether it was going to be a nightmare to transfer at Atlanta.

How much time do you have for the transfer? 2 hours should be enough.

  • International Flight

I will be arriving on an international flight from Amsterdam to Atlanta and suppose to continue to San Antonio. Will I have to get my bags and recheck them or will they automatically be switched over? Also I will be traveling with two cats in cargo. Where do I pick them up?

Yes, in Atlanta you will arrive in concourse E or F of the International Terminal, go through US Immigration, claim your baggage and your cats, go through US Customs, then re-check everything at the transfer desk (they should help you with the cats as they don't go on the belt), then go through security and take the plane train to your departure concourse.

Where do you pick up a pax. arriving on Alaska Airlines flight - terminal N or terminal S? The airport map shows that Alaska is in terminal S, but I have seen comments that baggage claim and pax pickup is terminal N?? thanks

  • Baggage and curbside check in
    Mar 16, 2015
May i drop off several pieces of luggage for curbside check in before i park my car?

If it's just you, no, you can't leave your car on the curb that long.

Am I allowed to find a porter at the curb to hold it for me until i park. The problem is i have two large 50lb suitcases and then a carry on and it is too much for me to park and haul.

Traveling to LAS from LHR connecting in Atlanta, inbound DL031 arives at 19:35 and the outbound DL1107 departs on 20:36. Is it feasible in 61 minutes?

Yes, that is feasible. All you have to do is take the Plane Train from your arrival concourse to concourse E or F where you will depart.

Will there be enough time to proceed through immigration and customs and check lugage back in?

You do not go through US immigration or claim/recheck your baggage when exiting the US.

How do I contact baggage claim concerning lost luggage?

You need to contact the baggage hotline of your airline.

I'm flying from Atlanta to D.C. And then onto London. Everything is on the same ticket, so do I check-in my luggage at the international side of ATL, or do we fly out of the domestic side??

    Domestic side.

Flying from Sav to ATL DL844. and ATL-MBJ DL317. Do we have to do anything with our bags once we get to atlanta? I have seen different answers on here regarding re checking bags during a layover.

No you do not have to do anything with your bags on the way to Jamaica. Just take the plane train from your arrival concourse to your departure concourse .

No you only have to go from your arrival gate to your departure concourse via the plane train.

Hello, we are American's departing from ATL through CDG to LUX. Will we claim and re-check our luggage at Customs in CDG? Also, we have a layover time of 1:45, is this enough time? Thank you.

  • location of bag wrapping machines
    Sep 5, 2014
Could you plz tell me exactly where those bag wrapping services are located in the domestic terminal in ATL? Near where should I be looking if flying ATL - IAD on Delta. Thanks!!

Baggage wrapping services are usually in the ticketing area, or close to the security checkpoint - just ask an attendant. Note that Delta uses the South Terminal for ticketing & check-in (enter by doors S1-S4) and all Concourses/ gates T and A - D. Your ticket & the overhead screens inside the terminal will indicate which gate your flight will depart from.

I highly doubt there is bag wrapping in the domestic terminal, nor do you need bag wrapping on a domestic flight.

I am continuing on to an international flight so I need the wrapping as one of my bags may not make it in one pc.

Got to the airport & was informed that the wrap service area had been replaced by IHOP. The porter(?) was kind enough to wrap bag with tape at counter. Easy $10 for her! :) :)
