  • Is 90 minutes enough time to connect from Intl to Domestic at ATL?
    Jul 24, 2016
On Aug. 11 I'm flying Air France from Rome to ATL, arriving at 5:32pm. My connection to LAX via Air France departs at 7:02pm. Will I have to clear customs at ATL before going to LAX flight? If so, is 90 minutes enough time?

Air France does not fly from Rome to Atlanta or Atlanta to LAX. Both flights will be operated by Delta. Yes, in Atlanta, you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security, and take the Plane Train to your departure gate. You have barely enough time if everything goes perfectly.

Thanks for the thorough response. Much appreciated. We don't plan to check any bags on this trip. Will that significantly improve our chances of making the LAX flight?

It will help, I don't know how significantly.

  • International Connecting flight and TSA
    May 21, 2016
Flying into Atlanta today from Costa Rica then onto canada. was told to go through immigration but then TSA security again. i only have one hour. do we go to same TSA as others where currently there is 3-4 hours wait? will miss my connection. or is it another security line only for connections?

There is a separate security line for international connections, but that is still a very difficult connection

  • Arriving Domestic For International Flight
    Apr 19, 2016
Hi, We will be flying LAX to ATL for a connecting international flight to Dublin. Our layover is 55 mins and both flights are Delta. Aside from likely running to our gate, is this enough time for our checked bags to make it onto our next plane?

Yes, that should be enough time for both you and your bags.

    Thank you!

  • ATL layover to LA
    Apr 2, 2016
Traveling from Buenos Aires to LA with a layover in ATL on April the 3rd and just under 2 hours between flights after arriving at 6AM, I'm aware that I have to go through Customs and Immigration and wait times can be a pain. Should I be worried about missing my next flight while waiting for immigration processing?

You should have enough time. Especially with the early morning arrival. If you do miss your connection, Delta flies lots of flights from Atlanta to LA.

Thank you for the answer, that's a relief. I'm now trying to determine if 1 hour is enough for my flight back from LA through ATL. No need to fill paperwork or wait in lines but I do have to do some moving across the airport using the tram and it sounds a little tight considering the size of the place.

  • Domestic Terminal South to International Terminal
    Feb 9, 2016
I have a 41 minute layover, concerned I won't be able to make it from one terminal to the next time time. Flying from Omaha on Delta 1069(Domestic South) and departing from ATL on Delta 543(International). Any help? :s

You don't have to actually change terminals. All you have to do is take the Plane Train from your arrival concourse to your departure concourse (E or F). The Plane Train connects all concourses inside security. You have enough time if your flight from Omaha is on-time.
