Hi - we are flying with 2 kids from Cancun to London through Atlanta and our connection time is 1:25. Is that enough?
Cancun-Atlanta with Delta, Atlanta-London with Virgin.
Thanks
Yes, that should be just enough time if everything goes smoothly. You will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, and go through security in Atlanta.
Are you sure? Virgin Atlantic say that the bags will go straight from plane to plane
Whoever told you that at Virgin doesn't know what they're talking about.
you answered a request of mine that international travelors could not stay in atlanta if they have another leg to their intinerary. You said that it is a different hall that they use after going through custums that does not allow exit to the outside of airport. BUT, my question is, how can this be so. If they use a seperate hall after customs, they still have to go to the terminal of their existing flight for the second leg. ext. atl to fll. it is at this time that they are in that terminal, can they just not leave the airport at that time. I am sure that their next flight domestic is not encapsuled in a tube. just wondering.
Actually it sort of is "encapsulated" as you say. If you are a connecting passenger you go to an immigration hall where once you clear Immigration and Customs, the only exit is a security checkpoint which leads right back into the train that takes you to the domestic flight concourses. You can't bring your checked bags through there so your only option is to re-check them.
I am a U.S. citizen flying from Lima to Ft. Lauderdale, going through Atlanta. Do I do through customs in Atl. and what happens if I decide to stay in Atl. and not use the leg to Ft. Lauderdale. Flying with Delta.
Yes, in Atlanta you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, and then go through Security and to your departure gate. If you have checked bags you have to take your flight to Ft. Lauderdale as the hall connecting passengers use is different from the hall used by passengers exiting the airport in Atlanta.
Hello!
I will be travelling from Toronto to west palm with a layover in Atlanta on the 30th. Will I need to collect my bags and go through security again, or do I head straight to the next gate?
First time layover in Atlanta.
Thanks!
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Plane Train connects all concourses inside security.
Flying domestic to Atlanta, only have 1:15min to hop on connecting flight to Cartagena.... Can pull it off in Detroit, I don't usually travel international through Atlanta... Am I screwed?
That is enough time. All you have to do is go from your arrival concourse to your concourse E or F where you depart. The Plane Train connects all concourses inside security.
My flight is at 6:50 on a Friday leaving atl. How early should I get there to get through security and to my terminal? I'm not a frequent flier...
AM or PM? Are you checking bags? Do you have to park or drop off a rental car?
Diverted to Nashville tb. Pilot announced ATL closed due to weather.
There are very heavy storms passing through. The airport isn't technically "closed" just no aircraft can take off or land.
Been delayed in Daytona Beach to Atl not told why! 45 min so far
Hello,
I'm flying from Flint MI to ATL 6/15 and only have an hour from when i land to when my connecting plane takes off. I keep seeing you suggest to take the plane train. Where is the plane train located? How to you get to is?
The train is located at the center of every concourse and it runs underground. It is really quite difficult to NOT find as almost everyone has to take it.
Thank you
I have never been to Hartsfield-Jackson. I think my Carry-On could be over the limit for Delta, and was wondering if there is a sizer in the airport, and where it could be found. I'd rather go there and check before having to dish out $25 and wait through checking a bag.
Yes, there are bag sizers near the check in counters.
Would be arriving to Atlanta on Aeromexico on 5:25 AM fight departing on Delta domestic flight to Richmond 7:25 AM. On a Tues. Jan. 3. Enough time with carry-on?, Checked baggage?
That should be enough time with either. Immigration shouldn't be crowded that early in the morning.
