  • Airport closed?

Diverted to Nashville tb. Pilot announced ATL closed due to weather.

There are very heavy storms passing through. The airport isn't technically "closed" just no aircraft can take off or land.

Been delayed in Daytona Beach to Atl not told why! 45 min so far

  • Where is the plane train located?

Hello, I'm flying from Flint MI to ATL 6/15 and only have an hour from when i land to when my connecting plane takes off. I keep seeing you suggest to take the plane train. Where is the plane train located? How to you get to is?

The train is located at the center of every concourse and it runs underground. It is really quite difficult to NOT find as almost everyone has to take it.

    Thank you

I have never been to Hartsfield-Jackson. I think my Carry-On could be over the limit for Delta, and was wondering if there is a sizer in the airport, and where it could be found. I'd rather go there and check before having to dish out $25 and wait through checking a bag.

Yes, there are bag sizers near the check in counters.

Would be arriving to Atlanta on Aeromexico on 5:25 AM fight departing on Delta domestic flight to Richmond 7:25 AM. On a Tues. Jan. 3. Enough time with carry-on?, Checked baggage?

That should be enough time with either. Immigration shouldn't be crowded that early in the morning.

hi, will be flying from fort lauderdale to barbados on delta. layover time in atl is 1hr 10 mins. is this enough time? would i have to go back through security?

Typically once you clear security on US soil, passing through another airport along the way does not require going through security a second time. I've flown extensively and never had to do so. However, when you fly back into the country, you usually have to clear US passport, customs AND TSA security upon arrival before continuing on to your connection.

i will be flying from Shreveport to Atlanta to New York and on to Manchester UK. Will my first encounter with TSA be only in Shreveport?

Yes. Once you clear in Shreveport, you are usually go to go until you land in the UK.

  • Flying from ATL to Canada w/ US layover; which terminal?

I'm flying from ATL to Edmonton with a layover in Denver. I am travelling w/ only carry-ons but can't check in online. Do I need to go to the Domestic terminal or to the International terminal to fly?

I'm guessing the connection in Denver means you are flying United. You have to check in the Domestic terminal. United doesn't have a desk in the International Terminal.

  • Can you check in at the International terminal for a domestic flight?

I am leaving on a DL flight to FLL from ATL and have a bag to check. Can I check the bag and get through security at the international terminal?

    No, you cant'.

Is 30 minutes in Atlanta enough time for a flight coming from Columbus Ohio and going to Orlando Florida?

If both tickets are on the same reservation yes that is enough time. All gates are connected inside security by the Plane Train. Obviously there isn't much time to spare if the first flight is delayed.

Thanks. There are 8 of us. Don't want to have to reschedule

18 yr old grandson never flown. Flying frm jax, fl to akron, oh via Atlanta to chg planes. All are Delta flts. he arr in Atlanta at gate a6 and depts frm Atlanta at gated16. what does he do to get to next gate?

He will take the Plane Train from his arrival concourse to his departure concourse. Note that his gates may change up until the time of his flight, so he may not use A6 and D16. The Plane Train connects all concourses inside security.

We are flying from Detroit metro airport and arriving in Atlanta @ 9:28 am, connecting flight to St. Martin leaves @ 10:30am. Will this give us enough time to get to our flight. This is thru Delta and they just changed out flight time.

Yes, that should be enough time. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Plane Train connects all concourses inside security.

  • Need to get bags, but want to stay in a lounge

I am arriving ATL and meeting a group that is arriving five hours later. I will have a set of golf clubs that I need to get from baggage claim, but would prefer to wait for the group in one of the lounges. I am arriving on Delta, but have access to any of the sky clubs or the AA Admirals lounge. I have flown to and through ATL several times, but never with checked luggage. Since baggage claim is outside security, any thoughts on how to collect golf clubs and return to lounge? I was thinking that I could get the clubs and take them to the luggage counter in baggage claim and ask to hold until the other group arrives. If I do that would I be able to return to the terminals since my ticket is an inbound ticket? If I cannot return could I ask the luggage desk to set the clubs aside? I do not like putting the burden on someone in baggage claim to get the clubs from the oversize bin and also worry that something goes wrong and the clubs are sitting in baggage claim just asking to be stolen. Any advice is appreciated.

You won't be able to do that. They won't store your baggage for you, You also won't be able to go back through security after claiming the clubs. Either get your clubs and wait for the group outside security or take the risk of them sitting in the baggage claim for 5 hours. Those are your options.

Quick follow up. Can I return to the terminal with my inbound ticket? I have got a gate pass before, but would be easier if I can just show the ticket. I am getting the rental car and could take it back to the airport and park (leaving clubs in the rental car), but would only do that if I could wait in the terminal. I do not mind getting breakfast at a hotel close by (renaissance or Hilton) so do not a huge deal. Thanks for the help.

You are not allowed through security without a boarding pass departing ATL that day. AFAIK airlines no longer issue gate passes just to use the lounge.

Hi, I'm flying March 16 from Omaha to Philadelphia with an hour layover in Atlanta. Is this doable? I'll have one bag checked in, do I need to do anything regarding it in Atlanta? Thanks in advance.

You just have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Plane Train connects all concourse inside security. You should have enough time.

Thanks. I assumed as much, but appreciate the quick response.

My wife and I are travelling from Tri City Tn to Atlanta to catch flight to Manchester in UK, the flight arrives from Tri City at 1816 hrs and the Manchester flight leaves at 1910 hrs. Does my baggage get put straight through and do I have enough time to catch the Manchester flight, being 50 minutes to change concorses. many thanks

Yes, your baggage goes straight through. Yes, you have enough time to change concourses if your flight from Tri-Cities is on-time.

    Thankyou for your reply
