I have flight to LHR from Ord Chicago in American Airlines via ATLANTA with 70 minutes layover before I connect Britesh Airways to London, is 70 minute enough time with 2 kids . Thanks in advance for your help

Yes, that is enough time. You just have to take the plane train from concourse T where you arrive to Concourse F where you depart and board your flight if all flights are on the same reservation.

Flying from Detroit to Huntsville (HSV) through Atlanta. My layover in Atlanta has me landing at 6:40 from Detroit and departing at 7:25 for Huntsville. How early is gate information usually available?

You won't know your exact gates until the day of your trip. Your connection is doable.

  • Delta Airlines - Orlando to Montreal with 58 mins layover in Atlanta

I am traveling from Orlando (MCO) to Montreal (YUL) with a layover in Atlanta (ATL) for only 58 mins. I would like to know if that would be enough time to change planes, as I am guessing that there is no US immigration or baggage claims to be done in ATL for my flight to YUL. Thanks!

Correct, all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Plane Train connects all concourses inside security. You have enough time.

Sorry military language. Flights from Eleuthera and from Atlanta to Toronto with Delta. Layover between flights is around 90 minutes. Is it enough time to catch my flight to Toronto? Do I need to go through border control if I am a transit passenger? Thank you

Yes, you have to go through US Immigration and Customs. There is no "sterile transfer" for international to International connections at any airport in the US.

Delta. North Eleuthera -Atlanta-Toronto. 97min layover is ok? What procedure should go through ?

That's barely enough time. You will arrive in Concourse E or F, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate.

Thank you very much. Could you please clarify for me one more thing.. I fly from North Eleuthera to Atlanta with Delta. From Atlanta to Toronto also with Delta. Do I still need to claim my luggage at US Customs And re-check again if my both flights with the same company? I was told by Expedia that Delta will take care of luggage. Is it true? If yes in such case I suppose it should be enough layover time to catch my connection flight. It so happened after Delta change schedule and cut my layover . To change for later flight they ask me to pay extra $200 per ticket. That's why I want to make sure that I have enough time for connection before paying extra 50% for tickets. Thank you.

I have a layover in ATL between domestic flights for 3-½ hrs. Would that be enough time to hang out with my sister and 3yo nephew and get back through security? Is there any place to hang out with a 3yo outside the secure area?

It's possible. There's not many amenities outside security. There is a food court I think though in the center of the domestic terminal.

I will be arriving the US from Nigeria in November on Delta Flight enroute Washington Dulles via Atlanta. I'll be travelling alone with my 1yr old son. Our layover on the outbound flight is 1hr 40mins. I am new to the ATL airport. I am particularly concerned about the layover, will it be sufficient for me to carry my son along and go through customs, retrieve and recheck our luggage and still make the connecting flight to IAD? I have heard that ATL airport is quite huge and busy. The cost of changing the connecting to a late one is too expensive.

That is a difficult connection unless the flight from Nigeria is early. The airport is large, but the layout is pretty simple.

  • Layover of 34 minutes in Atlanta for international flight

Hi, I am flying from Lafayette, LA to Atlanta by Delta. I have a connecting flight to Paris with a layover of 34 minutes. At the time I booked the flight layover was 1 hr 10 minutes. Recently they changed the time and layover has reduced to 34 minutes only. I am traveling with 2 kids 7 and 3. Are 34 minutes sufficient to board the connecting international flight?

It's not impossible but it's awfully difficult. I would call Delta and see if they can get you on either a later flight to Paris or an Earlier flight from Lafayette.

I'm to arrive at the Atlanta airport I have a 39 minute layover is that enough time to get to my next flight or should I book one with a longer layover?

I personally wouldn't try it, but it's not impossible assuming the first flight is domestic. If there's a different schedule that offers a longer layover that works for you, I'd go with that.

I'm flying with Delta from YYZ @ 7:20 to SFO @12:55. Have 1 hr. layover at ATL. Very short time in between flight!! Am I right in thinking I have to go through customs and security? I have a kid traveling with me? Will I be running like crazy? Many thanks for any comments.

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do in Atlanta is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Plane Train connects all concourses inside security. You have enough time if the first flight is on-time.

I'm coming in to ATL from MIA and arriving in domestic term-south(according to airline) my connecting flight to SEA will depart from the same terminal(domestic term-south). Is 45 minutes enough time to make my connecting flight to SEA? I'm flying with Delta and have checked-in luggage. Thanks in advance.

Yes, that should be just enough time. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Plane Train connects all concourses inside security. No need to ask the same question twice.

Srry about that. Thought that my previous one wasn't posted.

I have checked in luggage. Will 45 minutes be enough time to make my flight to SEA? Many thanks in advance.

Yes, that should be just enough time. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Plane Train connects all concourses inside security.

I am coming into Atlanta from Lima, Peru, and got 6 hours to pass until going out to Seattle, and then on to Vancouver - will my luggage be checked through, or do I have to clear customs there? And if i can leave, how much time will i need to expect to get to the city, and back? Thank you!!!

Yes, in Atlanta you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate. You don't really have enough time to go into the city - by the time you got there you'd have to turn around and go back to the airport.

Thank you so much!! Very helpful!

sorry to tag one on - do you think shortening the "lay-over" to 2.5 hours would be too short for customs and all that?

2.5 hours is possible but obviously does add some risk if the first flight is delayed.
