I have a flight leaving Wednesday May 25 from Tulsa to ATL. The arrival says 9:15 pm and I have 58 minutes to catch the next flight to Buenos Aires at 10:13pm. I have no idea what gates or terminals I will be on and I was planning on having checked baggage. Am I going to have enough time or am I doomed if my plane to ATL is even a few minutes late. Delta said they'll charge me $395 to change my Tulsa flight. Would not checking baggage help at all?

All you have to do in Atlanta on your way to Buenos Aires is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Your flight from Tulsa could be up to 30 minutes late and you'll still be OK. You will arrive in concourse A, B, C, or D and will depart from concourse E or F. The Plane Train connects all concourses inside security. You don't have to do anything with your baggage on your way to Buenos Aires.

Hi, flying from Toronto to Hawaii rhru Atlanta, Rhen LAX on April 24, I have an hour layover but I am afraid I have to run through the airports, both flight are Delta . If I pass thru customs in Montreal before fling will I have to change terminal?

You will not have to change terminals in Atlanta but you will likely have to go to a different concourse. The Plane Train connects all concourses inside security.

I arrive from France 17:15 (terminal I) next connection flight to wilmington (Terminal S) 19:19 Do you think I have the time to go threw the immigration ? Thanks

Yes, that should be enough time. You will arrive in concourse E/F, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and take the Plane Train directly to your departure concourse (no need to actually go to S Terminal).

I am travelling to Bahamas from Chicago OHare to Atlanta then to Bahamas. I will arrive in Atlanta at 11:04 am then depart at 12:10 pm to Bahamas. Is one hour enough to get to the next plane?

Yes, that should be enough time. You just have to take the plane train from your arrival concourse to your departure concourse.

How long does it take from the arrival to the departure concourse ?

    less than 10 minutes

Hey. My flight from Honduras reaches Atlanta at 8:46 pm. I have a flight from Atlanta to Rome at 10:45 pm. I will have checked luggage. Is it enough time? (I am a US permanent resident, if that would affect my customs process)

Yes, that should be enough time if everything goes smoothly.

We are travelling to MCO via ATL on Virgin/Delta codeshare flights with 1hr 50 layover. I am recommending only taking hand luggage but our teenage girls are resisting. Will 1hr 50 give us time to complete the customs/immigration/baggage hall/baggage recheck process or should I stand firm with hand luggage plans?!

I would insist on the no checked luggage, it will really help. 1 hr 50 minutes is pretty borderline as it is.

We are flying in to ATL from MSP, then connecting to PUJ. We arrive at 11 PM to ATL, then fly out to PUJ at 9:45 the next morning. We're debating getting a hotel in Atlanta now because we've heard that the security lines are very long lately. Is it worth getting a room overnight or would we just be best staying at the airport over night until our morning flight?

It's up to you. If you get an airport hotel you'd want to leave the hotel room at about 7 AM, so you'd get about 6 hours of sleep if you got a hotel assuming the flight from Atlanta is on-time.

im flying from peoria Il. delta express jet into ATL. i have a 45 minute layover. not sure on terminals yet,( still deciding if we can book this flight) will we have enough time to get from the express jet delta terminal, to the delta domestic terminal, flying into Houston, IAH ? both flights are domestic. thank you for your help.

You don't have to change terminals. You may have to change concourses. The Plane Train connects all concourses inside security. You have enough time if the flight from Peoria is on-time.

My wife and I (senior citizens) arrive with Delta from Buenos Aires into Atlanta at 05.35 and have a 15 hour layover until our 20.26 Delta flight to Amsterdam. Seems a shame to waste the time as we have never visited Atlanta before. Any suggestions as to how to spend the time would be appreciated.Perhaps a tour of Atlanta? I assume we will have to collect our bags and go through Customs/Immigrations.

I'm not aware of any tours. You can take MARTA from the airport to downtown fairly quickly and walk around, go to the CNN Center, go to Georgia Aquarium, and see Centennial Olympic Park. That's about all there is to do for the casual tourist in Atlanta. I lived there for 4 years, so if you want specific restaurant recommendations, I can do that too.

Hi Zap, Many thanks for your reply. Yes, looks like the MARTA and a wander round until our old legs need a rest and then head to the nearest bar.

I will be arriving at4:40pm from Dallas and leaving there at 5:40pm to go to Amsterdam. Is one hour enough time to change planes

As long as the first flight is domestic and both flights are on the same reservation that should be enough time. What airlines are you flying?

    delta

Yes, that is enough time. You just have to take the plane train from your arrival concourse to E or F where you will depart.

I am arriving from Mexico City and than have a 2 hour layover to get through customs and board my flight to burssels. Will that be enough time?

That should be just about enough time. You will arrive in E/F, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate for Brussels.

I am flying out from Tampa FL to Atlanta hartsfield jackson airport with Delta Airlines. I only have a 45 minutes layover before I fly to Amsterdam with KLM. Will that give me enough time to catch my flight?

Yes, that is enough time if your flight from Tampa is on-time. All you have to do in Atlanta is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. All concourses in Atlanta are connected inside security by the Plane Train.

Thank you for your response. Are the terminals that I am arriving from and that I am departing from close to each other? Could you tell me what terminal I am arriving in and what terminal I am departing from? Thank you

You don't have to change terminals. You will likely arrive in Concourse T, A, B, or C and depart from concourse E or F.

We're traveling from DCA to SAL with a 1 hour 6 min layover in ATL. We arrive at ATL 9:04am and our flight is at 10:06am . What is the process with baggage U.S Customs and or Immigration . This is my first time doing a layover and we are flying delta

There is no US Immigration or Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do in Atlanta on your way to San Salvador is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Plane Train connects all concourses inside security.

I have a Delta flight from MSY to ATL arriving at 17:35. Have a Delta international connecting flight to Paris at 18:20. So is 45 min enough to get to my flight and what is the fastest route to get to my Int terminal.

You don't actually have to change terminals. You just go from your arrival concourse to your departure concourse using the plane train. You should have enough time.

  • Flying Delta with a long connection + AA Admirals Club Passes?
    Jan 20, 2016

Me and my GF have a 4+ hour layover in ATL on Delta. We are arriving from JAX and going to LHR. My dad gave us two AA Admirals club lounge passes. It is my understanding that since all the concourses are connected and in the secured zone we could go to Admirals club with our passes? Do you know if the lounge will require to see an AA ticket upon entry?

Yes you can access the Admirals Club on concourse T. They will ask to see your boarding pass but it doesn't have to be on AA if you have lounge passes.
