  • Connection from Atlanta to Chicago
    Oct 19, 2014
Hi! I will be flying out of Mobile,AL and landing in Atlanta,GA with a 45 minute layover until my next flight to Chicago. Do you think that will be enough time to catch my flight and will they make my connection flight in the same concourse as my flight that lands from Mobile?

Yes, that should be enough time. Your flights will likely be on different concourses but there is a chance they will be on the same concourse. The Plane Train connects all concourses inside security.

  • International flight to domestic flight - 1 h 39 min layover
    Oct 19, 2014
Hello, My KLM flight from Amsterdam will arrive at ATL at terminal F on a Friday evening at 8:20 pm. I need to get my connecting flight at 11:59 pm to Miami from terminal B operarting by Delta. I have 1 h 39 min layover time and I have NO checked luggage. How much time will I need to get from terminal F to terminal B and what is the best and fastest way to get from terminal F to terminal B. Since this is the last connection flight to Miami that day, I really do not want to miss it. Thanks for your help!

B is a concourse, not a terminal. After you go through US Immigration you will then go through US Customs, then follow the signs for connecting passengers, you will go through security, then take the Plane Train to your departure concourse (check monitors for your departure concourse, it can change). Immigration lines should be short that late in the evening and getting to your departure concourse should take less than 10 minutes.

Sorry, the flight to Miami is leaving at 9:59 pm instead of 11:59 pm from Atlanta. Is there still enough time to get that flight? 1 h 39 min layover time. Thanks!

Yes, that should be enough time.

  • Southwest to ATL then International Flight
    Oct 18, 2014
Since I could not order code-shared flight or single-itinerary flight from PHL to ATL, i ordered a ticket by SOuthwest from PHL to ATL. Does that mean I will get my luggage, go to international terminal and do the check in and luggage and security screening all over again? And can I go on the connecting airtrain that connects international and domestic, or I will have to wait for a shuttle?

Since you will have to re-check your bags, you will have to take the shuttle. You will need at least 2 hours for your transfer.

  • Travelling Monterrey to London via Atlanta with small child
    Oct 17, 2014
Hi there, planning on booking a flight with Virgin that will arrive in Atlanta from Monterrey (Mexico) at 8.15pm and leave for London at 10.09pm - just under 2 hours layover. Am travelling with a small child (under 2 yrs) and will have to collect luggage, do you think this is enough time to catch next flight? Thanks

Yes, that should be enough time. You can re-check your bags immediately after you clear customs and then you will go through security and right back to the departure gate area which will be in the same area where your flight from Monterrey arrives.

Thanks for your response. Think i will gamble it. Many thanks

Yes, that should be enough time. You will have to go through US Immigration and Customs, but both of your flights will be in Concourse E/F.

  • ATL- Bangkok with 1 domestic and 1 international stop
    Oct 17, 2014
On October 24th I will be flying from ATL to Bangkok on United Airlines. I first fly from Atlanta to San Fransisco, then to Tokyo, and from there to Bangkok. All of the flights are on one itinerary. When I arrive at the ATL airport do I go to the international terminal or the domestic terminal? Will I go through customs in ATL or San Fransisco or both? I have a 1 hour and 40 minute layover in San Fransisco. I'm flying by myself and internationally for the first time so I'm a little nervous.

You will go to the Domestic terminal - United does not have a check-in counter in the International Terminal. You should have plenty of time for your connection in San Francisco.

  • Atlanta to connect with a flight to Hewanorra
    Oct 16, 2014
What do we do when we come into Atlanta? Do we go to the international terminal? We have 45min layover which is short do you think we can make that flight?

You do not actually have to go to any different Terminal. You will just take the Plane Train from your arrival concourse to concourse E or F where your flight to Hewanorra will depart. 45 minutes should be enough time if your first flight is on-time.

  • Domestic or international
    Oct 15, 2014

You will go to the Domestic Terminal in ATL. In San Antonio both of your flights will be in Terminal A.

  • Montreal to Rio via Atlanta
    Oct 15, 2014
Hello there. I will be flying from Montreal to Rio via Atlanta. Does anyone know if the DL YUL-ATL flight arrives in the international terminal? I have a 2 hour layover and I want to know if that is enough time (given possible weather delays). I'm assuming if I clear customs (if needed) in YUL then I should be able to get to my DL ATL-GIG flight pretty easily? Any advice appreciated!

You will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Montreal. YUL-ATL flights do arrive in the International Terminal even though you won't have to go through US Immigration upon arrival in ATL. You should have plenty of time for your connection.

  • Layover of 50 min or less
    Oct 13, 2014
I am flying from CLT to ATL, arriving Concourse A, then connecting to an intl flight on Concourse E. If the CLT flight is on time I have 50 min. to connect. I have been tracking it and it is late more than it is on time. Just how much time do I need to get from A to E?

It will take about 15 minutes to get from A to E on the Plane Train.

  • Do I have to go out to the terminal?
    Oct 13, 2014
I will be traveling from LHR to ATL on BA. I will only have hand luggage. Once in ATL I have to catch a flight on DL to Texas. Since I do not have to collect any luggage, after I clear Immigration, is there a way to go straight to my Gate for the texas flight without going out to the terminal and going through security check? Thanks!

There is a security checkpoint right after you go through Customs, go through there and you have access to the Plane Train that leads to every departure concourse. You will have to check-in for your Delta flight on-line or on your smartphone in order to do this so that you can get through security.

  • connect flight

  • From SXM to YUL connecting in ATL
    Oct 8, 2014
I have 1h between landing from St. Maarten until departing to Montreal. Both flights on Delta. Will I make it? Traveling with a Canadian passport. Will I have to clear US customs and security?

No, 1 hr is not enough time. Yes, upon arrival in Atlanta you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, and re-check your bags with Delta. Then you will go through security and to your departure gate. As I said, 1 hour probably isn't enough time to do that.

  • will i make our connecting flight
    Oct 7, 2014
Arriving form London into Atl, have a connecting flight to Tampa, all run by Delta via Virgin Atlantic, only have 2 hours is this enough time to clear security, customs and do we have to check in again for the next flight

No you will not have to check in for your next flight you will be issued all boarding passes in London. Upon arrival into Atlanta you will arrive in Concourse E/F, go through US Immigration, claim your baggage, go through US Customs, then re-check your baggage with Delta at the transfer desk, then you will go through security and take the plane train to your departure concourse for your flight to Tampa.

Also, yes, that should be enough time.

  • Coonecting DL from YYZ via ATL to SXM
    Oct 4, 2014
I have a flight from YYZ with DL, arrival ATL at T-1 9.40am and have a connectinf flight with DL from T-1 at 10.30 am, can I make this connection? I have been given to understand that US Immigration & Customs are done at YYZ and I suppose I have to clear TSA security only at ATL ? Do I need to rush from arrival to departure as a transit passenger ? Travelling Business Class on both flights.Any help available to make this short connection? All suggestions are welcome.

Yes, you will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in YYZ. You will not even have to go through security in Atlanta. All you have to do is take the Plane Train from your arrival concourse to Concourse E or F where your flight to St. Maarten will depart.
