    hi there im travelling on the 24 sept from heathrow to tampa changing at atl it says my change over is 1hr30mins is this long enough?

    That is barely enough time, but it's possible. Luckily late september is off-peak season so there shouldn't be long lines at immigration and if you do miss your connection, there should be ample availability on later flights to Tampa for you to be rebooked.

    Hello! I am transferring in Atlanta arriving from Amsterdam and then departing to Rio de Janeiro. I only have 2 hours between flights (even though it is booked as one flight with Delta). I was wondering if I have enough time to make it to my Rio de Janeiro flight?

    Depends on how quickly you get through customs. But once you finish there and have your bags, the train is

    I am arriving ATL from MXP International Terminal 1 and need to connect to RDU in Domestic Terminal South (all flights Delta). After customs and baggage claim will I need to Plane Train to Domestic? Thanks.

    You don't actually have to change terminals. You will arrive in the E or F concourse, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and take the Plane Train to your departure concourse.

    Is there a way to find out which gate our Delta plane will arrive at on December 26? We only have 38 minutes to change gates. I do not want to book this flight if we (senior citizens who cannot run) cannot make it to the next gate. The arrival flight is 1977 and departure flight is 840. 38 minutes to get from one to the other ... Anyone?

    38 minutes is possible but leaves no time to spare if the first flight is delayed at all. You will not know the exact gates of your flights until the day of your trip.

  • CHI (MDW) -> ATL -> ELP w/ 56 min layover

    I have a flight this upcoming monday from chicago midway to el paso with a 56 minute layover in ATL. The flight is with Delta airlines. The stopping flight in ATL is at Terminal S and the connecting flight leaves from Terminal S. This is my first time traveling, will this be enough time? and where will I need to go since its in the same terminal? Also, does delta allow a hand carry?

    Yes, Delta allows free hand baggage. You have to check their website to see if your carry-on bag is within their size limits. ATL is set up with a series of concourses T, A, B, C, D, E, and F. The Plane Train runs underground inside security both ways between all seven concourses. All you have to do in Atlanta is take the Plane Train from your arrival concourse to your departure concourse if your flights are not on the same concourse. I recommend downloading the Delta App to your phone to keep you updated on your gates on the day of your flight.

    I will arrive Atlanta Hartsfied airport from New Orleans on Delta airlines. Then I will need to connect to Virgin Atlantic airlines international terminal to London. How do I do this. Do I take the plane train?? Thanks for the help in this regard.

    Yes, you just take the plane train from your arrival concourse to concourse E or F where you will depart.

    I WILL BE ARRIVING ON DELTA AIRLINES FROM LONDON TO ALTANTA. THEN I WILL TRAVEL ON DELTA FROM ATLANTA TO NEW ORLEANS. WILL I HAVE TO RECHECK MY BAGS AFTER CUSTOMS AND HOW DO I GET FROM THE INTERNATIONAL TERMINAL TO THE DOMESTIC TERMINAL WITH MY LUGGAGE? THANK YOU FOR THE ASSISTANCE

    You don't actually have to change Terminals. You will arrive in the E or F concourse, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and take the Plane Train to your departure concourse.

    Thank you. Does the plane train go from the domestic terminals directly to all the international terminals? I will arrive on Delta airlines from New Orleans to Atlanta then depart on Virgin Airlines to London. If I am correct all I have to do is leave my Delta arrival gate board the plane train and go to the international terminal to board Virgin Atlantic. Is this correct? Thank you. This is a great forum to ask for help.

    Yes, you are correct.

  • DCA -> ATL -> PVR w/51 minute layover

    Flying DCA-ATL-PVR on Delta for Thanksgiving, and with a slight schedule change now have a 51 minute layover. Will this be sufficient, or should we take the 6am flight out of DCA instead of the 7am?

    If it helps, we're leaving Sunday Nov 22nd, currently ay 7am.

    51 minutes is enough time as all you have to do in Atlanta is go from your arrival concourse to concourse E or F where you will depart on the plane train. However, if it makes you feel better, feel free to switch to the 6 AM flight. You'll have to get up really early either way.

    Hello! Is 58 minutes layover OK to get to flight from Terminal S to Terminal I in ATL? Thanks

    Yes, that is enough time. You don't actually have to change terminals. You just have to take the Plane Train from your arrival concourse to concourse E or F where you will depart.

    Is there another way to get from one concourse to another without using the plane train?

    Yes, there is a walkway directly adjacent to the plane train tracks, but that's the only way.

    Hello - I will be flying Cleveland to London via Atlanta and noticed that my flight into Atlanta has changed, now only giving me 35 minutes between flights. Is it possible to deplane, and get to the international terminal in such a short amount of time?

    It's possible, but leaves no time to spare if your flight from Cleveland is late. All you have to do is take the plane train from your arrival concourse to your departure concourse (E or F) and get on the plane.

    Does anyone know when the Plane Train stops running. I KNOW it does not run 24/7 so when does it stop and when does it start up again? Thanks

    It probably stops when the last arrival of the evening arrives - probably around 1 or 1:30 AM and starts again when the security checkpoints reopen in the morning, probably around 4:30 AM.

    Hi, my daughter will arrive form La Guardia to Atlanta and she'll only have 1 hour 40 minutes to connect to her other flight (Atalnta - Gainesville FL). Can she make it?? It's her first time alone in a big airport and she doesn't speak english well. Thank you

    When your daughter deplanes, have her ask the gate agent where her connecting gate is. Then, if necessary she just follows the signs to Plane Train and goes to her new terminal. 1 hour 40 minutes should be plenty of time.

    All she has to do is look at the monitors for her departure gate, find her way to the plane train, and then take the plane train to her departure concourse then walk to her departure gate. It's a big airport but the layout is very simple.

    We will be traveling with 2 kids ORD to CZM with only 55 min layover in ATL. How can we possibly do this???

    Yes, that should be enough time if your flight from Chicago is on-time. All you have to do is take the plane train from your arrival concourse to concourse E or F where you will depart.
