traveling AMSTERDAM-ATLANTA-SAN ANTONIO. Do I need to check out my bags to go through customs in Atlanta and check them back in? I was just informed by a delta representative on phone that i do not need to check my bags out and check them back in, as they will be in the same area, the bags will be transferred by the customs officers to the next flight. Is this correct?
Whoever you talked to doesn't know what they're talking about. In Atlanta you have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, take them through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the re-check desk, and then go through security and take the Plane Train to your departure concourse and gate.
I fly in from Manchester UK with Virgin and have 2 hours 10 mins to go through immigration and get to Delta gate to fly out to Sarasota Florida. I only have Hand baggage , will this be enough time.
Yes, you should have enough time.
Thanks. But when arriving from Manchester UK with Virgin where do i check in with Delta for flight to Sarasota Florida and do you know what concourse and gate Delta use.
You will already be checked in for both flights in Manchester. Delta uses every concourse in Atlanta. Your departure gate and concourse will be shown on a monitor after you clear customs.
We arrive from Amsterdam to Atlanta at 13:10, and will continue with a domestic flight to West Palm Beach at. 15:10.
Is there far from International terminal to Terminal S?
Is 2 hours enough for immigration and customs and transport between terminals?
Thank you
You don't actually have to go to Terminal S, you can take the Plane Train to your departure concourse directly after clearing Customs and security. You should have enough time.
Is an hour enough time to transfer flights?
Yes, if both flights are on the same reservation that's enough time. The Plane Train connects all concourses inside security.
I’ll be arriving ATL 17 NOV on flight 1240. I have a very short layover at which time I have to figure out where my connecting flight is departing from.
I’ll be departing on flight 2012 to SAV. I know I’ll probably have to go to a different terminal. Could you tell me which terminal/gate I’ll be departing from? Thank you, Vikki
Delta uses every concourse in Atlanta. Your gates will be available on Delta.com tomorrow. The Plane Train connects every concourse inside security.
We are flying Delta to Panama City Beach (ECP) through Atlanta. We clear border security in Toronto. Our arrival in Atlanta is 70 minutes prior to our departure to ECP. Any concerns regarding this connection window? Also, assuming our baggage is checked through to ECP.
Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do in Atlanta is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
Flying Delta for the entire flight. Will I get my luggage in Atl to go thru customs? or will it be checked all the way through? Can I get it if I want to?
You will have to claim your bags in Atlanta to take them through US Customs.
Hi, my flight as follow :

DL3439 XNAATL 1128 1418 , arriving into Domestic South Terminal
(about 5h30min connecting)
QR 756 ATLDOH 1945 1715

Been informed that I cannot check the baggage thru as the tickets was issued separately. Is the connecting time enough for me? This is my first time at Atlanta Airport, and I'm not American.

How do i go from Domestic South Terminal to the International gate? What is the fastest way?

Thank you.

Yes, that should be enough time. You have to go to the Domestic South Terminal, Claim your bags, take a shuttle bus to the International Terminal, then re-check them with Qatar Airways and go through security.
Thanks Zap!

How frequent is the shuttle service? And how long will it take to go from Domestic South Terminal to International Terminal?

Do you have any link for this shuttle service?
The ride takes 15 minutes. I think it runs pretty frequently, probably about every 15 minutes. You can read about it here under "International shuttle connector"
I'm going to travel from Guatemala to Paris via ATL. I have a 1h20mn layover. I'm afraid this is too short! Then if I do not recheck my baggage and go directly to take my flight to Paris, would it be an issue?
You still have to go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security. You're right. It's a very difficult connection.
Thanks a lot. But I mean, what will happen to my baggage? :-/
Since it's international to International, I don't believe you have to claim your bags in Atlanta anymore.
What terminal does Southwest use at Hartsfield-Jackson
Check in is in the Domestic North Terminal. Their gates are in Concourse C.
