  • connecting terminals?

never been to atl before. The terminals are all separate buildings apparently. is the plane train the only way to get from, one terminal to the other? or is there also some kind of walkway connecting them?

Those are concourses, not terminals. There is a walkway in the same tunnel as the plane train, but it's much faster to take the plane train, unless you feel like sprinting between concourses.

Hi My family and I (european) are flying into ATL from AMS Thursday 26.03.2015 with KL621 at 2120 and depart for FLL with DL1235 at 2250. Going home again via ATL Friday 10.04.2014. Arrive from FLL at 1945 with AF2297 and depart for CDG with AF689 at 2045. Are we good timewise for our connecting flights? Thank you.

You should have enough time both ways.

I arrive in Atl at 9:05 to connect to a delta flight to Austin texas at 9:50 will I make it?

For added detail I arrive in Atl on flight #1618 catching flight # 1118 to austin both Delta

Yes that is enough time but doesn't leave much time to spare in case of delays. The plane train connects all concourses inside security.

My wife and I will be traveling from Huntsville, AL to Montego Bay, Jamaica on Delta Airlines with a connection in Atlanta. This is our first time to fly internationally. Do we have to re-check our checked bag once we get to Atlanta or will it be checked all the way through to Montego Bay from Huntsville?

On your way to Jamaica you don't have to do anything with your bags, just go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. On your way back you will have to claim them to go through customs then re-check them at the transfer desk.

    Thanks!

Hi, I will be landing at ATL from BRU flight DL 2334 on januari 15 and connect to Fort Lauderdale flight DL 476 both Delta. Do I need to re-incheck my baggage as well? Thanks.

Yes. You will go through US immigration, claim your bags, go through customs then re-check your bags at the transfer desk then go through security and take the Plane Train to your departure concourse .

Thanks for your answer. Could you also tell me what a concourse is or what the difference it is whit a terminal and how many stops I need to calculate for getting of the Plane train to catch my flight to Fort Lauderdale on DL 476? Thanks again.

You will arrive in E or F and likely depart from A, B, or C. Plane train shouldn't take more than 10 minutes.

Hi, I am flying into Atlanta (Virgin) from UK and land at 14.05pm and then need a connecting to flight to Memphis (Delta), which is the best flight to choose to allow me enough time the 16.10pm flight or 17.30 flight? Thanks

As you arrive at ATL at non-rush hour, you may opt for the 16.10pm flight. Note that Virgin & Delta do not belong to the same airline alliance: unless you purchased your flights on one ticket, you may need on arrival pick up your bags & re-check them in with Delta (find out from Virgin if they transfer). At ATL you need to go through passport check, pick up bag, go through customs clearance & re-check-in your bag where indicated (unless you need to take your bags & check-in with Delta). Virgin arrives at the new International Maynard Terminal, while Delta uses any of the Domestic concourses /gates A - D (the overhead screens on arrivals will indicate flight & gate numbers. Proceed after customs clearance & re-check-in, follow signs to the 'Plane Train' serving all concourses in the center of their gate arrangements.

Flying in from TUS (Tuscon) to ATL on Delta...is 1 Hour 14 M enough of a layover to make it to the Int'l Terminal F to catch a flight from ATL to CDG (Paris) on either Delta or Air France? Are the Delta terminals close to or far away from Int'l Terminal F? Thanks!

You don't actually have to change terminals. All you have to do is take the Plane Train from your arrival concourse to your departure concourse (E or F). It should take less than 20 minutes.

will have a flight on Sat, Nov, 15th from AMS, flight DL0073, ar. ATL 02.12 p.m, departure to San Jose with DL 0525, dep. 04:55 p.m. Have to clear our baggage before we take the flight to Puerto Rico and how can we change terminals. We are from Gemany

You don't have to change terminals. You will arrive in concourse E/F, go through US Immigration in the lower level of E, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and take the plane train to your departure concourse. You have plenty of time.

Hi! I will be traveling from Dubai to Grand Cayman via delta airlines. I have a connecting flight in Atlanta. Do I still need to claim my bags at ATL and then check-in again after US customs? And will it be on the same concourse? Thank you.

Yes, you will still need to claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check them. Atlanta does not have facilities for International to International connections without claiming bags.

Hello. I fly from Portland to Atlanta by Delta. I fly from Atlanta to Amsterdam by KLM. The layover is 1 hour 17 minutes. Is there enough time for everything? Thank you!

Your transfer time is sufficient. The underground 'Plane Train' stops at the center of each Concourse. Your Delta arrival can be at either Concourse T, A, B, C or D; your KLM flight is out of the 'Maynard Jackson Terminal' or IT / TI) with Concourses E & F - your ticket may quote IT-E, TI-E, or IT-F, TI-F. On arrival, just follow signs to the Plain Train.

  • Do ATL intl-to-intl connections have to clear customs?

Hello, my wife and depart Paris, and arrive ATL at 14:55, and then connect to Quito, Ecuador at 17:30. I've heard that customs and security lines can be very long in ATL. However, Delta has told me that international-to-international connections do not have to clear US customs and security, but can move directly to their connecting US-outgoing flight in terminal E or F? Is this infor correct?

Whoever at Delta who told you that is wrong. You have to go through US Immigration and Customs upon arrival at ATL.

I will be arriving from Tampa Fl at 8:22 pm to connect to Dubai flight departing 9:47 pm. Where do I go to make the conection?

You just have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. All concourses are connected inside security by security.

We arrive in ATL from GSO at 6:13 pm on Delta 1466 (Concourse A). Our connecting flight to MEX (also with Delta) departs at 7:01 om from Concourse E. Will we make it? I called Delta and thay said it is a "legal connection".

Yes, that should be enough time. All you have to do is take the Plane Train from your arrival concourse to Concourse E.

Unless your incoming flight is late. Delta likes to decrease travel times by allowing short layovers, but a lot of their flights are late. I was once in a plane waiting on the tarmac for a gate in Atlanta when my connecting flight left, so I don't trust layovers of less than an hour in ATL anymore.
