I'm flying form ATL to YYZ. Do I check in at the International terminal or in the domestic and take the skytrain from there?

Hello, I'm arriving from Brussels in Atlanta with Delta and I have 1hr and 40 minutes to get my connection to Newark, also with Delta. Will I have enough time to go through customs, re-check my baggage etc?

I am arriving to Atlanta from Charleston at 8:30 pm and connecting flight to Mexico next morning at 9:00am. Do I need to go through Immigration again in Atlanta if I get out to sleep at a hotel? Is there a baggage storage inside Atlanta airport so I do not have to carry it. Is there a place inside airport to sleep overnight? Thank you.

You do not go through US Immigration when leaving the US. There is no baggage storage. There aren't many places to sleep in the airport. Get a hotel.

I'm flying from Atlanta to Charlotte to Germany. Will I check in at the Atlanta international terminal and go through customs?

You do not go through US Immigration or Customs when leaving the US. You need to check in in the Domestic terminal in Atlanta - there is no US Airways counter in the International Terminal. You will go through Schengen immigration when you get to Germany. All you have to do in Charlotte is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

Is 90 minutes enough time to connect with flight to charlotte after arriving in ATL from Dublin? Both flights are with Delta airlines and we have checked baggage.

Yes, that is enough time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Dublin. All you have to do is take the Plane Train from your arrival concourse to your departure concourse.

I fly in from Tampa to Atlanta and then connect to YYZ. Is that considered an International gate? Any idea if I would make it if the connecting flight leaves 35 mins after the Tampa flight arrives? I only need to pick up any bags in ATL

You do not have to pick up bags in Atlanta. Yes, Toronto flights do leave from the International gates (E concourse), however from a functional standpoint it's like any connection. Take the Plane Train from your arrival concourse to your departure concourse and get on the plane. you can make it if the first flight is on-time, but it leaves no time to spare.

  • Enough time? Changing terminals

My son is on a flight Saturday from Houston to Atlanta then Atlanta to Myrtle Beach SC with a 51 minute layover. Will he likely have to change terminals and how hard is it if necessary?

No, all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. They may be on different concourses but all concourses are connected inside security by the Plane Train. You have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

  • enough time for immigration etc?

hi there. We're arriving ATL from Germany. My connecting domestic flight to MIA departs 90 minutes later. Is there enough time for immigration, claiming baggage and re-checking etc. and moving to the other concourse? Thanks a lot in advance.

That should be barely enough time.

thanks ZAP. What would you suggest instead?

I would probably still try it if you've already booked it. If you haven't booked it yet I would try for a later flight to Miami.

Hi, I want to book Delta from Germany to Jamaica with 2.45 hours layover in Atlanta. Am I landing and departing from the same terminal? Do I have enough time for the whole customs, baggage process? Thanks.

Yes, both flights will be in the E and F concourse of the International Terminal. Yes, that should be plenty of time for US Immigration/Customs, baggage claiming/re-checking, and security.

I have 2 hours to get from a Virgin Atlantic flight from Manchester UK to a delta flight to Columbus Ohio. Will I have enough time to clear immigration etc? Also what happens to my baggage, do I need to transfer it? Thank you

Where are you transferring? You will need to claim your luggage to go through US Customs. If you purchased your tickets on one reservation and your bags are tagged through to CMH you can then re-check your bags at the transfer desk.

We will be arriving in an ATL international terminal (most likely T) from MBJ at 1900. Then we'll need to get thru customs and connect for a domestic flight in a domestic terminal. Is 1 hour and 40 minutes enough time for that?

Actually the T gates are not used for International Arrivals. You will arrive in E or F. You don't actually have to change terminals. You just have to take the Plane Train to your departure concourse after going through US Immigration, claiming your bags, going through US Customs, re-checking your bags, and go through through security. You should barely have enough time.

Hi I am looking at Virgin flights from Orlando 31.08.15 connecting through Atlanta then onto Virgin/Delta flight to London Heathrow, my travel agent has offered a flight with only 1hr 14min connection time. Is this doable and what will the process be do we go through immigration or just direct to our connecting flight to london? thanks in advance

All you will have to do in Atlanta is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. the Plane Train connects all concourses inside security. There is no US Immigration when leaving the US. That is enough time.

  • Austin Atlanta Daytona connection time

Hi, I had to purchase a 1 way ticket to Atlanta, then a 1 way ticket from Atlanta to Daytona 1 hour later due to work commitment. Do I need to collect my bags from first flight and recheck or will Delta recheck for me. Both flights are Delta flights.

If you show your second confirmation to the agent in Austin they should be able to check your bag to through to Daytona. You may even be able to call Delta and have them "Join your PNRs" so that both of your tickets are on the same reservation.

I'm arriving in Terminal S and Departing 2 hours later in Terminal S...sounds simple. But the maps look confusing. Are departures and arrivals in Terminal S in the same area, or do I have to go up a level? Thank you!

No flights actually arrive or depart from "Terminal S" in Atlanta. They arrive in one of the domestic concourses - T, A, B, C, or D. If your flights are in different concourses, all you have to do is take the Plane Train, which runs inside security, between concourses.

Thank you very much!!! Huge airport!!

Hi there, I have a flight from Paris to Atlanta on AirFrance entering at 19.50, my next flight is Airfrance again Atlanta to Orlando departing at 21.45. The flight says I arrive in terminal I and leave from terminal S, can you help with directions and if I will have enough time?

You don't actually change terminals. You will arrive in the E or F gates, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and take the plane train to your departure concourse (monitors will tell you which concourse). You have enough time.
