  • 45 minute layover
    Jul 31, 2015
My son arrives in atlanta at 6:22 p.m. in terminal S and departs at 7:05 from terminal 2. Will he have time to make the connection, and what tips can you give to help him move quickly?

Atlanta doesn't have a Terminal 2. All gates at ATL are connected inside security by the Plane Train.

  • Connection time - 50 mins
    Jul 30, 2015
I fly into Atlanta south terminal from San Diego and have 50 minutes to make a connection to London from the International terminal. Is this enough time??

You don't actually have to change terminals. You just take the Plane Train from your arrival concourse to your departure concourse, E or F.

  • Terminal E to B

My son has to make a connection in ATL. He has only a 40 min layover. He comes in at terminal E and flies out of B... is this possible to make the connection?

E and B aren't terminals, they are concourses. Where is he flying into Atlanta from?

  • 43 min connection time
    Jul 26, 2015
Hi, my flight with Delta just had a time change and now only gives my a 43 minute connection. Flying Ft. Myers to Atlanta, Atlanta to Manchester UK. Is this possible- Virgin said its legal, but that doesn't mean possible!

Yes, it is possible if your flight from Ft. Myers is on-time. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate in concourse E or F. The Plane Train connects all concourses inside security. You can call Delta and ask for an earlier flight from Ft. Myers though, since this was an involuntary schedule change.

  • Possible to meet international conection passenger for visit in ATL?
    Jul 23, 2015
My sister is connecting in ATL from Asheville to Madrid on Delta. She has about a 3 hour layover. Is it possible for her to come up to the international lobby for a visit with me before boarding the Madrid flight?

    Yes, she can.

  • Manchester to Atlanta then connection to Orlando
    Jul 23, 2015
Please can anyone advise. Flying from Manchester UK and given 1hr 45min as connection to Orlando (same on return flights) Just read how busy airport is, Anyone know if this is enough time to clear customs/security checks/baggage reclaim/baggage checked in again etc. We fly Virgin to Atlanta, Virgin to Orlando and Delta to Orlando then Virgin back to Manchester. Thank you.

Yes, that should be enough time. Note that your Atlanta to Orlando flight will also be operated by Delta. In Atlanta you will arrive in the E or F gates, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and take the plane train to your arrival concourse. If you miss your connection, Delta has hourly flights from Atlanta to Orlando that you can be rebooked on.

  • Will I make it in time?
    Jul 22, 2015
Have an AA flight SanJose Costa Rica to Dallas to Atlanta. AA changed the flight times so now I have only 56 minutes in Atlanta to catch my separately booked Air Canada Flight to Toronto, the last one of the day. What is involved with this transfer?

    (I'm Canadian)

If you are checked in online for your Air Canada flight and don't have any checked bag you will just have to take the plane train from your arrival gate in concourse T to your departure gate in Concourse D. If you do have checked bags, it's impossible.

    Thanks for the help!

  • From International arrivals to domestic terminals
    Jul 24, 2015
I'll arrive at terminal F from an international flight. After immigration, baggage pickup and customs I need to reach the domestic terminal to take a bus that will lead me to my final destination. How do I get to ground trasportation at domestic terminals? I noticed that there is a shuttle (they call it International Shuttle Connector, that's a bus I think) at the international terminal, but I also found out the existance of the "plane train" which seems to connect all the terminals. Are they the same thing? Which one should I use? Thank you

If both tickets are on the same reservation you don't need to take the bus. There is a security checkpoint after you clear customs that leads directly to the plane train which will take you to your departure concourse. You don't actually have to change terminals.

Hi, I don't have to take a domestic flight, but I'll have just to reach the "ground transportation" at the domestic terminal because I have to catch a bus for another city that departs from there.

In that case, you will have to take the shuttle bus to the Domestic terminal. You won't have access to the Plane Train after clearing customs as you won't have an onward boarding pass out of Atlanta.

Ok thank you! I imagine that the shuttle bus is just outside the arrivals, am I right? And does this shuttle allow to go the other way, i.e. from the domestic to the international terminal? Thank you, It's my very first intercontinental flight and I'm a bit worried :)

  • Atlanta to Toronto
    Jul 21, 2015
I am flying from Atlanta to Toronto tomorrow morning. The departure gate is D33. Do I have to enter thru the international terminal or can I go thru the Domestic travel terminal?

You're supposed to use the International Terminal. Also, Delta has not posted departure gates for their flights to Toronto tomorrow morning yet, so I don't know where you're seeing that you depart from D33.

  • Flying to CUN via CLT
    Jul 21, 2015
If I am flying from ATL to Cancun and connect thru CLT what terminal will I depart from ( Domestic or International) and where will I clear customs ?

If you are flying American/US Airways, then you fly from the Domestic Terminal. American/US Airways do not have a counter in the International Terminal. You do not go through US Customs when leaving the US. You will go through Mexican Immigration and Customs when you get to Cancun.

  • Connection time 1.34
    Jul 21, 2015
Hi I'm flying in from London Heathrow and have 1.35 minutes to deplane, clear immigration and customs, recheck bags and catch an onward flight. Is this enough time? Flight will land at 2pm - what is the immigration hall usually like at this time? Is there a fast track?

There is no fast track. You should have enough time if your flight is on-time and both flights are on the same reservation.

Flying from San Jose Costa Rica connecting in ATL (1h:51min) to a domestic flight. Is this enough time to clear costumes and re check bags?

  • Enough time
    Jul 20, 2015
Traveling from IAH to PUJ with a connecting flight in ATL with a 55 min layover. Will that be enough time to get from terminal S to terminal I? This is my first connecting flight, what happens to my luggage? Novice here! Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

You don't actually have to change Terminals. You just have to take the plane train from your arrival concourse to concourse E or F where you depart. You don't have to do anything with your bags. You have enough time if your flight from Houston is on-time.

  • Phoenix - Toronto - Atl
    Jul 22, 2015
I have 2 friends coming over next week: one from Phoenix AZ, the other from Toronto, Canada. The one from Phoenix will be arriving at one of the domestic concourses; the one from Toronto the international terminal. Both will be landed approximately same time. What is the best way for me to pick them up?

If they both have checked bags then you'll just have to pick one up from the domestic terminal and one from the international terminal. If the Toronto guy doesn't have any checked bags, he can take the Plane Train to the domestic terminal after he arrives and be picked up with the Phoenix guy there.

    Thank you.

Hi, we fly from Heathrow to Atlanta and have a connection with delta to Jacsonville 2 hours later, will this be enough time?

Yes, that should be enough time. You will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through Security and take the plane train to your departure concourse. Be aware that the code for Jacksonville is JAX. JAC is Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

  • How much time in advance do I actually need to check-in?
    Jul 17, 2015
I am flying from Hartsfield to Toronto on Friday night - do I really need to arrive 3 hours before my departure time if I only have carry-on and not planning to check in my baggage? Flying Delta. I found Delta's website but their wording is somewhat confusing.

No, you do not. 90 minutes is plenty of time.
