First time flying throught Atlanta, My flight from tallahassee, FL to Atlanta will arrive 6:12 pm and lay over time is 1 hour 3 min to fly to Baltimore Washinton airport. Shall i follow the transfer sign or connecting sign at the airport to go to the departure? or take shuttle to transfer? Is it enough time to catch the connection? Thanks

If your arrival gate and departure gate are on the same concourse you just walk to your departure gate. If you need to change concoruses, the Plane Train runs underground at the middle of every concourse. Take it to your departure concourse. You have enough time.

Thanks for the reply, much appreciated

  • re-check luggage

Hi, I'm flying in from Quito into Atlanta and after that have a connecting flight to New Haven with 1:30 min in between. Will i need to collect my luggage and re-check them?

That's a very difficult connection. You have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, and then go through security and to your departure gate. Are you sure you're flying to New Haven? Delta doesn't fly there. If you are connecting between two different tickets in Atlanta then 1:30 isn't enough time to do that.

The connecting flight to new haven is operated by EXPRESSJET DBA DELTA CONNECTION. I booked it trough the delta website.

Please double check your reservation, because Delta Connection definitely does not fly to New Haven, Connecticut. What airport code are you flying to?

Hi - arriving into Atlanta with Delta and then depart to London with Virgin - only 1 hr connection time. Is this enough time to navigate airport and make London flight? Any security between domestic Delta and international Virgin flights?

All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate, no security required. The Plane Train connects all concourses inside security.

  • Knoxville to ATL for Barcelona Flight-48 minute layover

In September I have a Delta flight from Knoxville TN to Atlanta for a flight to Barcelona. A recent flight schedule change reduced our layover time to 48 minutes. We are over 60 and unable to run... will we be able to make this connection? I think we come into C and out of E or F.

Yes, that is enough time if the flight from Knoxville is on-time.

My travel agent has booked my flights with a 1:40 layover in Atlanta and insists that will be enough. Arriving ATL on DL115 from Barcelona at 14:39 departing on DL2274 to Denver at 16:20. is that enough time? I assume I will have to collect my bags at ATL and recheck after customs. then Plane train from terminal I to terminal S

It's a very difficult connection. You don't actually change terminals. You will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and take the plane train directly to your departure concourse.

I land in ATL (on the Virgin Flight from London) at 16:05 and then take a connecting flight to Cancun at 17:55. Normally it takes about 20_30mins to get through immigration and baggage in ATL. I don't think I will need to re-check luggage as I am getting on another DELTA flight. Rather than just sit in the lounge, my boyfriend wants to come and see me for about 30mins. Would I be able to go to arrivals for a few moments then back through security to get to my gate?

I do not think you have time for that.

Maybe I could get a meet and greet service at Hartsfield that can help me achieve this?

  • 50 minutes B gate to F gate (SDF to GCM)

Delta is giving us 50 minutes to get from a B gate to an F gate (based on recent gate assignments for these flights which might be bad science on my part). I don't think it's possible, especially with my wife in a walking boot for a torn ligament. I have been discussing this with Delta for several weeks to no avail. No earlier flight, next leg is one flight a day, leg after that separate itinerary. Me thinks were hosed.

It's possible. Request wheelchair service for your wife if you think it'll really slow you down (I suspect a walking boot would, although with only a torn ligament vs. a fracture you can move a lot quicker on a boot).

We are American citizens arriving on Sun. 12/18 at 8:20 pm from Amsterdan on KLM in Terminal I, we depart at 9:55 pm on Delta to Memphis in Terminal S. Will we have enough time to collect our checked bags, go through customs, and get to our departure gate?

That is just enough time if everything goes smoothly. Note that you don't actually have to go to the S Terminal - once you clear customs and go back through security you will take the plane train directly to your departure concourse.

I'm flying to Japan from Atlanta in November. What do I do first? It departs at 10:15 am and I have to exchange currency etc. is 4am good enough?

That's plenty of time. You could arrive as late as 7:30-8 AM and be OK.

Also, all you have to do is go to the International Terminal, check your bags (if you have checked baggage), and go through security.

  • Enough time to connect?

We arrive in Atlanta on Sunday from Amsterdam on Delta airlines. We have 1 hour 30 mins to connect to our flight to MCO with Delta. Will this be enough time? Will we need to collect luggage etc.

This is cutting it very close. Unless your flight from Amsterdam is early, you probably won't be able to make the flight to Orlando. However, Delta runs hourly services down to Orlando, so they'll put you on the next flight out if you miss your scheduled one.

Why do they put these two flights together then? Crazy.

  • Short Layover

I have a 38 minute layover in ATL on a Sunday afternoon. Arriving flight on Delta from Greensboro, NC and departing flight on Delta to Orlando. Is this enough time?

It's barely enough time if everything goes perfectly. No time for delays. If you miss your connection then Delta has hourly flights from Atlanta to Orlando.

  • EWR to Cancun via ATL - 1 hour change

We have 1 hour to make a connection in Atlanta to Cancun (arriving from Newark). All flights are with Delta. Will we need to collect our bags? Will 1 hour be enough time?

You don't have to do anything with your bags. There is no US Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Plane Train connects all concourses inside security. You have enough time.

Thanks Zap. On our return, we have 1hr 48 to transfer from our Cancun flight to one heading to the UK - how does that sound for time?

Yes, that should be just enough time.

Hi I'm arriving in Atlanta from Dublin with delta at 13 55 and have one hour and 5 mins to transfer to Atlanta Mco flight is that enough timef

Yes, that is enough time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Dublin. All you have to do in Atlanta is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

I am a German national flying from Monterrey, Mexico to Prague, Czech Republic through Atlanta and JFK. Arriving to ATL 12:08, leaving for JFK 14:06. All with Delta. Is the two hour layover enough for customs, migration, re-check baggage etc?

Yes, that should be just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

B and E are just concourses not terminals. All you have to do is take the plane train from B to E, you should have enough time.

    Thanks for the information
