We have never flown internationally. We will be flying from CAE (Columbia, SC) to ATL and then to PUJ (Punta Cana, Dominican Republic) and vice versa on our return. Can you please tell me how much time we should allow for arrival to both CAE and on our return to PUJ? Also, how will it work in ATL as far as customs and baggage, etc. for going and returning? Our layovers are 1.5 hours in ATL going and 2 hours coming back. Is that enough time to make connections? Thanks so very much!
This summer I am flying with Delta airlines from Honduras to Atlanta, taking a connecting Delta flight to Amsterdam. I have visa waiver status. Will 2 hours be enough transfer time?
Which terminals will we be arriving/departing in ATL? We have a 3 hour layover in ATL; is it worth purchasing the Skymiles Lounge for a family of three?
You will arrive in Concourse T, A, B, or D and depart from concourse E or F. The Plane Train connects all concourses inside security. Whether or not it's worth it to buy a day pass to the lounge is up to you, but 3 hours isn't too long.
I am flying Southwest to Atl, from the Dominican republic, with a connecting flight to Michigan. Will i have to collect my luggage in Atlanta, then go to Southwest ticket counter to check in for my domestic flight?
You will have to claim your bags in Atlanta to clear US Customs, but you should be able to re-check them right after you clear customs.
I have a very early flight to Canada in the morning. I am planning to check-in the large luggage, return the rental car, and then go through the security. Since the rental car place is at the domestic area, can I go through the domestic security and take the train to the terminal F? or I have to take the shuttle bus back to the security at international flight area?
Yes, you can go through security at the domestic checkpoint.
Flying to CDG via Dallas on American Airlines. Do I go to international terminal to check in ?
No, you go to the domestic terminal. There is no American Airlines check-in counter in the International Terminal.
We (2 people) arrive in Atlanta coming from Phoenix with Delta.
We have to connect to Brussels Belgium also with Delta.
We have a transfer time of only 50 minutes, is it possible to make this connection in time?
Do we have to collect our bagage and transfer the bags too?
Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do is take the Plane Train from your arrival concourse to concourse E or F where you depart.
Thank you very much.
I arrive from Cancun on a Southwest Air flt and may need to shuttle to the domestic terminal in order for the parking facility (Sheraton Airport Hotel) to pick me up, since they do not make International pick ups. How easy is it to find the shuttle , how much does it cost and what is good estimate of time to allow to go through customs at about 8:30 pm on a weeknnight?
The shuttle to the domestic terminal is fairly well marked. it is free. You probably won't be back at the domestic terminal until about 9:30 PM.
Thank you.
My wife and I will be arriving to ATL on Delta from Austin, TX and making a connection on Delta headed to SXM. We have 54 minutes to make this connection. Is this enough time even if we are on the opposite ends of the airport?
Yes, that is enough time if the first flight is on-time. The Plane Train connects all concourses inside security.
I will be coming in on Delta express jet from CAE connecting in ATL. I only have about 50 minutes until my next flight for Las Vegas which I think is last flight for night. It leaves at 9:30 pm. Do I have enough time. I am very concerned. Will I go through security again? Also, when do they close for boarding is it 20 minutes before flight time. If it is then, I only have 30 minutes. Also, I don't really walk too fast. Thanks for your help!!
You will not have to go through security. All you have to do is take the Plane Train from your arrival concourse to your departure concourse and board your flight. You have enough time if the flight from Columbia is on-time.
