  • Toronto to ATL (Delta) - ATL to UK (Virgin)

Hello I have a connection time of just under two hours. I fly from Toronto to Atlanta (via Delta) then fly from Atlanta to Manchester, England (via Virgin Atlantic). Will I have to check in through security again, and is 2 hours enough time? The bookings are separate. Thanks

    (I'll only have hand luggage)

  • 54 minute lay over enough

I will be arriving from Gainsville, Fl on Delta and departing 54 minutes later on Delta for Seattle. Should that be enough time?

Yes thats enough. It's a domestic flight so you won't have to clear immigration or anything and as long as you ask your desk agent to check your bags straight through to Seattle you won't have to go through re-check and will be able to make your connect much faster.

Purchased flights through Expedia Bargain Fare. You don't know flight times, etc when you book. RIC to ATL to SNA. All good except for a 35 min time frame to connect at ATL! And our flight is the last one of the evening so if we miss it, we will be staying in the airport until we can get on a flight the next day. My question is if we show up early to the airport in Richmond any chance we could ask them if we can get on an earlier flight to ATL and they would do it without an extra fee?

Possible. Depending on your airline..... Ik delta will put you on if there are seats available in your fare class.

  • Do bags check through?

Leaving Nassau, connecting ATL through to Gulfport, MS, will we collect our bags in ATL to go through customs? Or do our bags check through and we just take ourselves and our carryons through customs?

The latter. You go through customs/immigration with whatever carry ons you have. Once you clear immigration, you grab your checked bags and are free to go 😊

  • Seattle to ATL - 48 min layover

I am not travelling internationally. I am flying Delta the entire trip. I leave from Anchorage to Seattle, Seattle to Atlanta, and Atlanta to Memphis. My layover in Atlanta is 48 minutes. My flight in Atlanta arrives at 7:20 am. My question is, since I am staying with the same airline the whole trip, will have to go through security once again? I don't know why I would need to and I think 48 mins is enough time to get to and from gates. But I would like some input to allay some of my travelling jitters.

Hey no fear. Even if it was a different airline you wouldn't have to go through security. Security checkpoints are only used when first arriving at the airport. As long as you stay in the airport you don't have to go through security. However if you go outside, you'll have to clear security to get back in.

  • San Jose, Costa Rica - ATL - Dulles

A group of us is flying from San Jose, Costa Rica to Atlanta and will then be flying to Dulles. We only have an hour and forty minute long layover. Our tickets were all purchased on one reservation. Will we need to go through customs, immigration, recheck our bags, AND go through security before catching our final flight?? Will we have enough time?? We are starting to get worried reading some of these other posts. If so, is there a way to fast-track this?

I should also add that we have three US citizens and two Costa Rican citizens, one of them a minor. Will that make it more difficult?

That's barely enough time if everything goes perfectly. There are no fast-track lines. It will be easier for the US citizens than the Costa Rican citizens.

Where do you think we will have the most trouble/have to wait the longest? Thank you, by the way!!

Immigration!! If you don't hop off that plane and sprint to the immigration line you'll be stuck anywhere between 30 mins to over 2 hours. Recheck is a breeze, barely anyone there, 10 minutes tops. But a quick tip, when your leaving San Jose, your original departure airport, ask the airline check in agent to send your bags straight through, tell them where your going, they'll print the sticker and you won't have to recheck your bags. They'll be waiting for you at your final destination.

Oh and you don't have to go through security as long as you are in the airport.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Lol your welcome. Safe flights and happy travel!

Will we make the connection. Southwest is the airline... I am very nervous to book and miss the flight there will be a group of us.Thanks

That's barely enough time if everything goes perfectly. If you miss the connection you may be stuck in Atlanta overnight.

I am arriving from London at 17:15 and leaving on Southwest at 19:40. Is this enough time to make the connection?

With checked bags, no, that is not enough time as you will have to take the shuttle to the domestic terminal, check your bags, and then go through the long security lines in the domestic terminal.

Hello, I am travelling to Denver Colorado from London Heathrow on Wednesday 25th of May and have a stop over in Atlanta. I land in Atlanta at 13:55 and my connection to Denver is at 15:24. Please could you tell me exactly what I need to do when getting off the plane please in regards to getting my luggage etc. Also, is this enough time to get my connection? If not I am unsure what to do as Delta airways scheduled the connection. Thank you

I should probably have added that I land I in Atlanta terminal l and depart to Denver from terminal s . Do I need to go through security in ATL if both flights are with delta?

YOu will arrive in the E/F concourse, go through US Immigration, caim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and take the plane train to your departure concourse. This is a difficult connection but it is possible if everything goes smoothly.

My flight will arrive from Brazil at 06:45AM and the connection to San Fco departs 08:15AM, so it will be 1h 30m. How could Delta sold me a connection like this? Any shortcut? Or a fast lane... ?

With the early morning arrival I think you can make this. Yours will be one of the only flights arriving in the International Terminal at that time.

I am looking at Delta flights arriving from Appleton, WI at 9:05 and departing ATL to Cancun at 9:45 (40 minute layover). Is this doable or should I take a later flight? TIA.

It's possible, but it leaves no time to spare if the flight from Appleton is delayed.

This is to go with my last post. I'm flying from MKE to RSW with a stop in ATL. I only have a 46 minute layover. Flying in to Concourse B and out of E. Will I have time? Is there a tram?

I only have a 46 minute layover to make my connecting flight. Looks like I come in at Concourse B and go out of E. Will I make it? Is there a tram of sorts?

Yes, the plane train connects all concourses at their middle inside security. You should have enough time.

Hi - sorry if this has been asked before. I will be traveling on Delta from Rome, back home to NYC, changing flights in ATL. Will I have to go thru customs and then back thru security to get to my next flight? Also, will my bags travel to the next plane or do I have to get them and re-check? I am business and pre-check but have been worried about the lines and making the connection (I have a little more than an hour). Thank you

Yes, you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and take the plane train to your departure concourse.

  • Connection time for flight to Amsterdam

Hi, I fly from New Orleans on Tuesday 7th June and arrive in Atlanta at 21.47. I have a connecting KLM flight to Amsterdam leaving at 22.30. Can I make the connection in the 43 minutes?

It is possible. All you have to do is go from your arrival concourse to your departure concourse via the plane train. It obviously leaves little time to spare if the flight from New Orleans is delayed.
