I have a flight landing in Atlanta from Chicago O'Hare at 7:00 pm, then my connecting flight is an international to Dublin leaving at 7:50. Will this be enough time to make it to my flight?

I am flying to Atlanta on Delta terminal S and going to terminal I to fly out to Tokyo. I did not see any of these terminals on the map of the airport. How do I know what the real terminals are and how do I get from one to another? Thank You

You will arrive in Concourse T, A, B, C, or D and depart from concourse E or F. You just have to take the Plane Train (which runs underground) from your arrival concourse to your departure concourse.

I am flying into ATL on a flight that normally comes in in Terminal B. I have a connection that normally leaves from Terminal C. I have about an hour and a half and I do have TSA precheck. Easy enough except one thing. I have to escort a child from Terminal B to relatives who will be picking him up. Is there a specific door I should head for to make this as quick as possible?

B and C are concourses, not Terminals. You will have to take him on the Plane Train to the domestic terminal, and up the escalator to meet the relatives. However, if you go up the escalator you will have to go back through security as you can't go down the escalator. How old is the child? Can he or she manage going up an escalator themselves if you can confirm using your phone that the relatives are waiting for him at the top? If so that would save you a lot of time.

Do you mean that if I stay at the bottom of the escalator I won't have to go through security? If the top of the escalator is visible to me and I can see him meet up with the family, I could stay at the bottom. Is there no curbside pickup at the concourses?

The concourses are just gate areas located in the middle of aircraft apron. They don't have curbs, let alone curbfront pickup. They are connected to the terminals by the Plane Train which runs underground. Yes, I'm pretty sure you can see the top of the escalator from the bottom.

    Thanks very much.

I have a connecting flight Amsterdam-Atlanta-Cancun (AMS-ATL-CUN) and the connection gap at ATL is 1 hour 40 minutes. I do not need to recheck my baggage, but i am wondering if it is enough time to change flights? and also is it enough time for airlines to pass my baggage so it doesn't got lost?

Yes, that should be enough time if everything goes smoothly. You will have to go through US Immigration, customs, and security.

  • Enough Time to make connecting flight??

Arriving in ATL on Sat, 4/22 on Delta Flt 2801 at 8:19a and the connecting flight to MCO is Delta Flt 1883 at 8:55. Will I have enough time to make it to the gate with only 36 minutes between flights? I'm traveling with an older person who can't walk very fast. Are the gates close to each other?

You won't know your gates until the day of your flight. It's possible but doesn't leave much time to spare. if you miss your connection, Delta has hourly flights from Atlanta to Orlando that you can be rebooked on.

I am an EU national; will be flying in to Atlanta from Rome to connect to Jacksonville; I only have 1.30mins between flights - will I make it? I assume I have to collect luggage and go through security - please advise!!

You will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and take the Plane Train to your departure concourse. You have barely enough time.

Hey, so here's the thing. I am arriving from Jamaica around 1 pm and I have my next flight to India at 7 25 pm. this is not a connecting flight. I booked these separately. so following are the questions : 1) Will I have enough time to go through immigration and, baggage claim and recheck those bags? 2) THE MAIN: How will the process be? to come out and go inside the international terminal again? thank you

There are no nonstop flights from Atlanta to India. Where are you stopping first? What airline are you flying?

  • Connecting in ATL from Toronto

I am looking at a flight this summer from Toronto (YYZ) to Fort Walton Beach, FL (VPS) connecting in Atlanta, with a 60 minute layover. Do I have to clear customs in ATL or does this happen in Toronto beforehand? If not, I imagine 60 minutes would not be an adequate time frame.

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do in Atlanta is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • MCI to ATL, ATL to Rio

Hi. I am about to purchase a ticket through Delta which would have me arriving at ATL from MCI (domestic) at 10:50PM, and my next flight (ATL to RIO, International) leaving at 11:32PM. Will this be enough time to make the connection? I shouldn't have to go through security ro recheck bags again, correct?

That is a difficult connection, but yes, all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate on the Plane Train.

Sorry, one more question. One the way back my international flight arrives at 6:39AM and my next domestic flight leaves at 8:10AM. I know I will have to go through customs and get my bags and go through security and that an hour and a half is the minimum recommended time. I'm hoping it works out, but if it doesn't and we miss our connection, how complicated is the process of getting on the next flight to MCI? Is there typically a fee? Both flights are on one ticket with Delta.

It's not complicated at all and there is no fee. You just go to the Delta customer service desk and you will be rebooked on the next available flight to Kansas City.

Hi. I will be traveling back from Jamaica on Delta on June 14 coming from Jamaica into Atlanta and then onto SFO (my final stop) so will I need to re-check in my luggage & go back through Customs again or just go to my connecting gate? I have a 2 hour layover...do you think that will provide adequate time?

Yes, in Atlanta on your way back from Jamaica you will arrive in Concourse E/F, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and take the plane train to your departure concourse. You should have enough time.

Hello, Ive recently booked a flight on Delta from Birmingham AL, to Buffalo NY when I land in ATL i have a 43 minute layover. im very worried that im not going to make it to the connecting flight on time. is there any way to see how far ill need to travel to get to the connecting flight? Thanks

You won't know your exact gates until the day of your flight. That connection is doable if the flight from Birmingham is on-time.

I am going via ATL on my way back from Guatemala to London. Will I have to go through immigration and re-check back in or do i just go to my departure gate for my London flight? Basically, is 1hr 50 min enough time to get from my flight from Guatemala to my flight to London? Thank you

In Atlanta, you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate. You have just enough time if everything goes perfectly.

Hello I have booked a Delta flight to leave out of OKC to Cancun. We arrive in Atlanta for our connecting flight and all we have is a 40 minute layover. I am wanting to make sure that this is enough time, and when we arrive in Atlanta will we have to go through security again? We are only taking on carry on luggage, this is my first international flight so I am kind of freaking out.

That's possible. you should not have to go through security again in Atlanta. However, it leaves very little time to spare.

I have both flights with Delta do you think once we land we will have to go to a different concourse?

Yes, you will have to go to a different concourse.

I'm connecting thru ATL for a flight to mexico. Will i have to go thru security again to get to international departures?

No, you shouldn't have to if both flights are on the same reservation and the first flight is domestic.
