  • International connection - is 100 minutes enough
    Dec 13, 2015
Flying Rome-Dallas connecting in ATL with Delta, on 26 December (landing 5.30pm), with checked baggage. 100 minute connection time. I assume this is potentially tight, even if the flight from Rome is on time. My question is, with Skyteam Elite Plus status (Alitalia Freccia Alata, i.e. gold status) is there any sort of priority lane I can use at any stage (for re-checking bags, for clearing security after this)? Thanks!

Yes that should be enough time. Yes I believe you will get priority security.

    Thanks for reassuring me!

Hi. My son is flying into Atlanta tomorrow morning and only has 49 minutes to get his connection to Charlotte. Is that enough to time? Are the gates close to each other? Should he let the flight attendant know? Thank you.

Where is he flying to Atlanta from? What airlines is he flying? I can't answer your question without that information? There's nothing the flight attendant would be able to do.

Flying from Ft Myers, Fl. Is it possible to get gate OT terminal numbers?

What airline? If it's Delta then he won't know the gates until the day of his flight. Delta operates flights out of every concourse in Atlanta, but all gates are connected inside security by the plane train and you can reach any gate from any gate in 15 minutes or less.

I am flying to JFK via Atl from Johannesburg - all with Delta. Will a 2 and a half hour layover be enough time to catch my connecting flight? I land at Terminal I and need to get to Terminal S. Will I have sufficient time to get through US Immigration, claim my bags, go through US Customs, re-check my bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and take the plane train to my departure concourse. How would I know which plane train and which concourse as well, please?

Arrive in ATL on 20 Dec at 5:51 am

Yes, that is plenty of time. After you clear customs you can find out your departure concourse and gate from the Monitors. There is only one Plane Train.

  • YYZ-ATL-BZE Delta Connection
    Dec 11, 2015
Im flying from Toronto to Belize City with a 70 minute layover in Atlanta with Delta airlines. Is 70 minutes enough to clear customs? Will I need to claim my bag and resubmit it? Should I look for a different connecting flight? Thanks

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto and there is no US Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do in Atlanta is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Plane Train connects all concourses and gates inside security. You should have plenty of time.

  • Connection time with plane side checked luggage
    Dec 10, 2015
My daughter is flying from Montgomery AL to Seattle. She has a 37 minute layover in ATL. Is this enough time given that her bag will be checked plane side in MGM and she will need to wait for it plane side in ATL before proceeding to her next gate?

It doesn't leave much time to spare. Although Delta is usually pretty good about getting the planeside bags out quickly, especially now that they fly fewer planes that require planeside checking.

  • 90 minutes layover Atlanta from Paris to Kingston
    Dec 8, 2015
I am holding a French passport and coming from paris on my way to Kingston via Atlanta, same terminal Air France -> Delta. I have 90 minutes, is it enough ? Do I need the ESTA ?

90 minutes is barely enough time. You will still have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags, and go through security. You will need ESTA.

  • Flying Delta from Milwaukee to San Jose, Costa Rica
    Dec 4, 2015
We depart Milw. 1-21-16 and change planes in ATL with 1hr 25 min layover. Since we will be inside security in ATL will our bags be checked thru to San Jose? Baring delays I feel we have enough time to change terminals. Is this a safe assumption?

Yes, you don't have to do anything with your bags or go through security in Atlanta on your way to San Jose. You don't even have to technically change terminals. You just have to take the Plane Train from your arrival concourse to concourse E or F where you will depart. You should have plenty of time.

  • 52 Minute Layover in Atlanta - Connecting Birmingham to Brussles
    Dec 2, 2015
I fly to Brussels from Birmingham, Alabama on May 4th and have a 52 min connection in Atlanta. I'm flying Delta and would like to check my bags. Based on previous posts, I believe I will have just enough time to make the flight assuming my flight from Birmingham is on time. My question is about my checked bags. Is that enough time for Delta to transfer them from one flight to the other? Thanks!

Yes, that should be enough time if the flight from BHM is on-time.

  • Montreal transiting through Atlanta to Buenos Aires, Argentina
    Nov 30, 2015
I am holder of a Canadian passport, I will have a Delta flight from Montreal to Atlanta, then transit to another Delta flight from Atlanta to Buenos Aires, Argentina, the layover time is only about 1 hour 15 minutes. Will my bags be checked through all the way to Buenos Aires from my departure airport (Montreal) or will I have to pick it up in Atlanta, go through Customs and Immigration then dump my bags on the conveyor belt? In 1 hour 15 mins of layover time, will I make it ?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Montreal. All you have to do in Atlanta on your way to Buenos Aires is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. All gates are connected inside security by the Plane Train.

Enough time? Arriving in Atlanta at 4:00am and leaving on KLM to Amsterdam at 5:55am. ArrIval is at terminal A and departure is at terminal F I think.

Please double check your itinerary - there are no early morning departures from Atlanta to Amsterdam.

DUH!! It is arriving in Atlanta at 3:02pm and leaving forAmsterdam on KLM at 4:00pm. Thanks for he quick response.

Yes, that is enough time. You actually won't know your arrival concourse until the day of your flight, but all concourses are connected inside security by the Plane Train and all you have to do in Atlanta is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
