Arriving Delta from CHS. Connectine here in ATL, and then on to Toronto. Will I need to claim and re-check baggage? What's the best way to get around?

No, you won't have to do anything with your bags in Atlanta. There's no US Customs when leaving the US. Just take the Plane Train from your arrival concourse to your departure concourse.

I am flying from MOB - ATL on Delta. From ATL, I will be flying to Manila via Qatar Airways. The domestic portion on Delta is a separate booking than the Qatar Air booking. I have a long layover in between so I'm not worried about making the connection. My questions however are: 1. When I get off the plane in ATL, do I need to go to baggage claim, pick up my bags, and re-check them in at the international terminal? 2. Given the above, what is the best way to get to the international terminal if I have to claim my luggage at the domestic baggage claim? Will I be able to use the underground train that connects all the concourses? Or will I have to take an outside shuttle to get to the international terminal? Thanks!

Yes, you will go to the domestic baggage claim, pick up your bags, take the shuttle bus to the International Terminal, and re-check them with Qatar Airways.

    Thanks!

I have played it safe & booked Man/AtL/SAV with a 4.5 hour connection time in ATL. Flying Virgin & DL, all on the same ticket. If we happen to clear immigration, baggage claim & customs relatively quickly do you think it would be possible to change to an earlier DL flight to Sav without a change fee, also are there Delta desks around the bag drop area to sort this out for us & our baggage, or do we have to go out & then come back in again? The earlier flight has a 2hr 50 layover I think. Or do you think our bags will end up getting lost? Thankyou in anticipation.

No, you would have to pay a fee to move to an earlier flight unless there are weather issues. You would also have to have your bags retagged. Yes, there are staffed Delta desks in the International Terminal where you arrive.

Thankyou very much. I guess we will just chill in a nice bar!

I am fly by delta airline from Memphis to Atlanta arriving at 1900.I have to collect luggage and catch British Airways flight to London at 21.00 I am worried if I have enough time

You are right to be worried, with checked baggage that will be very difficult, bordering on impossible.

we fly Delta to Atlanta airport from Nashville 26th Novemeber and are booked on the Virgin flight to Manchester UK with a layover time of 1hour and 2 minutes. worried about finding terminals etc in such short layover time

If both flights are on the same reservation then all you have to do on your way to Manchester is take the Plane Train from your arrival concourse to concourse E or F where you depart. You have enough time if the first flight is on-time.

I am flying Delta from MGM to ATL arriving domestic terminal. My international flight is on Korean Air. Bought my tickets separately, so my bags can not be checked through from MGM. I have to claim my baggage at ATL baggage claim carousel, take the Terminal Connector Shuttle with my bags, and check them in at the KE counter. I am a 62-yr old woman of very slight build, and limited physical strength. While I am ambulant, I will need help with my two checked-in baggage. Are there porters who can help me for a fee, and if not, what can you suggest I do.

No, there are no such porters. Pack light. Also, show your Korean confirmation to the Delta agent in Montgomery, since they are both Skyteam partners they may be willing to check your bags through to Seoul or your final destination.

Thank you so much, ZAP, for your quick response. Helpful advise, too.

I'm travelling from Amsterdam to Cancun via Atlanta with Delta (all legs). Do I have to re-check my baggage in Atlanta or is my baggage already checked through to destination? I found this on Virgin Atlantic's site: Connecting flights Your baggage will usually be through checked (automatically transferred) between your flights, with the following exception, where you'll need to collect and check in your baggage as you transfer: If you are connecting on to another US destination, you will need to collect your bag in Atlanta and then drop it off at the transfer area

Yes, in Atlanta you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate.

My first flight is Rome-ATL with Delta, I guess E9 or E10.I should pass through customs, visa, claim baggage, then re-check and boarding again with Delta to Fort Myers - I don't know the terminal for domestic to RSW. I have 1h58min time. Is ok?

After you clear customs and re-check your bags at the re-check desk you will take the plane train directly to your departure concourse (T, A, B, C, or D). You don't actually have to go to the domestic terminal. You have just enough time if the flight from Rome is on-time.

I am traveling from Orlando (MCO) to Montreal (YUL) with a layover in Atlanta (ATL) for only 58 mins. I would like to know if that would be enough time to change planes, as I am guessing that there is no US immigration or baggage claims to be done in ATL for my flight to YUL. Thanks!

I'm arriving on a Delta flight from Nassau then getting a connection to Manchester UK - which terminals do I have to travel between? are they both in the international area and how much time is required baring in mind we will have to collect baggage and clear security?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Nassau, both flights should be in Concourse E or F. You do not have to claim your baggage or go through security in Atlanta. An hour is sufficient.

Thanks, We are travelling in separate tickets so assume we will have to clear immigration and baggage

I have a connection coming from Pensacola on Novemer 15 at 5pm. My flight to Amsterdam leaves at 5:43pm Is this enough time?

Yes, that's enough time if the flight from Pensacola is on-time. The Plane Train connects all concourses inside security and all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
