flying ito detroit from Costa Rica, we connect in Atlanta. Have 1 and 1/2 hour lay over. Will this be enough time? Do I have to retrieve checked luggage and re check? all on delta .

Yes, you will arrive in Concourse E/F, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and take the Plane Train to your departure concourse.

WE ARE SCHEDULED TO ARRIVE FROM HEATHROW ON VIRGIN ATLANTIC AT 2PM. WE HAVE A FLIGHT TO RICHMOND AT 3:45 PM. ON DELTA. I AM READING ON HERE ABOUT HAVING TO CLAIM BAGS BEFORE PROCEEDING TO OUR FLIGHT TO RICHMOND. IS THAT CORRECT OR WILL WE JUST HAVE TO CLEAR CUSTOMS AND THE BAGS TRANSFERRED AUTOMATICALLY?

Yes, upon arriving in concourse E/F you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and then take the Plane train to your departure concourse.

We will fry from the Dominican Republic to London via Atlanta and have 2h 20 mins for the transfer there. Would that time be sufficient? Also, do we have to collect our luggage and the re-check it again?

Just to add to my question - both flights are with Delta.

Yes, you will arrive in the E/F concourse, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and back to your departure gate which will also be in E/F.

Many thanks, ZAP. Do you happen to know in case we miss our connection to London is it up to Delta to offer us an alternative free of charge flight? Both flights are on the same ticket.

Yes, you will be rebooked on the next available flight to London free of charge. However, if the next available flight isn't until the next day they will not pay for a hotel in Atlanta unless your first flight was delayed due to a mechanical problem.

Arrive in ATL on a delta flight from Cincinatti and have 40 mins to get to a virgin flight to London - is this enough time as am travelling with an elderly parent?

That is barely enough time and leaves very little to spare in case your first flight is delayed. You will have to take the plane train from your arrival concourse to concourse E or F.

Thanks - seems bizarre that Delta have moved us onto this flight then as originally we had over an hour. As it is the airline that has done this flight change do you have any furthur advice please?

We arrive from Manchester Delta airlines in Atlanta at 14.27 in International terminal with connecting flight to Newark at Delta again16.20 from South Terminal.Whats the procedure and is there enough time between flights?? Also what happens if arriving flight is late and connection missed?? Also on return journey we have 77 minuted between flight, both flights again Delta!..procedure and enough time??

On your way to Newark, you will arrive in concourse E/F, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, go through security and ride the plane train to your departure concourse. You have enough time. On your return to Manchester, all you have to do in Atlanta is take the plane train from your arrival concourse to concourse E/F where you will depart. No security or passport check. Again, you have enough time.

I am arriving back to the US from Copenhagen stopping in Canada with Air Canada,aArriving in Atlanta at 6:52 pm and need to fly out with Delta to arrive at my home dedstination at 8:35 pm. Will I be able to get through cutoms and make my connecting flight with Delta

I'm unclear on your itinerary. Did you purchase CPH-Toronto-Atlanta from Air Canada and then a separate ticket from Atlanta to somewhere else in the US? If so you will pre-clear US Immigration in Toronto. I can't answer this question well without a more clear picture of your itinerary.

flying from San juan domestic (terminal S) and have 48 minutes to conecting flight to Amsterdam I, will we have enough time and how do we get between the two terminals?

You don't actually have to change terminals. You just have to take the Plane Train from your arrival concourse (could be T, A, B, or C) to your departure concourse (E or F). You have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

four of us in our late 20s all in relatively good shape need to get from concourse A to E in 1 hour 18min my question to you is would walking be faster than taking the plane train that stops a few times?

Unless you are an NCAA middle-distance runner looking to get some work in, the train is the way to go.

thanks that was the answer I was looking for!

I have 45 minutes between a domestic delta flight and international do I have to recheck my bags and is 45 minutes enough time?

No, you do not have to re-check your bag on your way out of the US. You should have enough time. The Plane Train connects all concourses inside security.

I am booking return flights from Orlando back to the UK, with a short connection in Atlanta (Delta flight). However I only have 56 minutes between flights. Do I have to recheck baggage and go through customs and immigration? How long does this take? The flight from Atlanta to the UK (Manchester) is Virgin Atlantic.

All you have to do in Atlanta on your way back to the UK is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Plane Train connects all concourses inside security. 56 mins is enough time.

Hello, In Atlanta we arrive in a domestic terminal and have to catch an international flight from either Concourse E or F. We have 80 minutes. I understand we can use the plane train to move between concourses, however will we have to go through any security checks again from domestic to international. I am hoping we just hop off our plane and hop onto the connecting flight no checks. I appreciate your effort in responding. :)

You will not have to go through security. All you have to do is take the train from your arriving concourse to your departing concourse.

Thank you very much - it seemed such an easy question, but the answer was hard to find online. Have a great day! I am actually going to sleep better tonight. :)

Hi, I am travelling from Amsterdam to Fort Lauderdale with Delta airlines, switching at Atlanta. My flight gets in at 14.25 at terminal I and the next flight leaves from terminal S at 16.00 giving me just 1hr 35 mins between flights. I will need to go through US immigration too. Will I need to collect my bag and re-check? Does this give me enough time? Thanks

You will arrive in concourse E or F, go through US Immigration, claim your bag, go through US Customs, re-check your bag at the transfer desk, then go through security and take the Plane Train to your departure concourse. You have enough time.
