Traveling from IAH to PUJ with a connecting flight in ATL with a 55 min layover. Will that be enough time to get from terminal S to terminal I? This is my first connecting flight, what happens to my luggage? Novice here! Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

You don't actually have to change Terminals. You just have to take the plane train from your arrival concourse to concourse E or F where you depart. You don't have to do anything with your bags. You have enough time if your flight from Houston is on-time.

I have 2 friends coming over next week: one from Phoenix AZ, the other from Toronto, Canada. The one from Phoenix will be arriving at one of the domestic concourses; the one from Toronto the international terminal. Both will be landed approximately same time. What is the best way for me to pick them up?

If they both have checked bags then you'll just have to pick one up from the domestic terminal and one from the international terminal. If the Toronto guy doesn't have any checked bags, he can take the Plane Train to the domestic terminal after he arrives and be picked up with the Phoenix guy there.

    Thank you.

Hi, we fly from Heathrow to Atlanta and have a connection with delta to Jacsonville 2 hours later, will this be enough time?

Yes, that should be enough time. You will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through Security and take the plane train to your departure concourse. Be aware that the code for Jacksonville is JAX. JAC is Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

  • How much time in advance do I actually need to check-in?

I am flying from Hartsfield to Toronto on Friday night - do I really need to arrive 3 hours before my departure time if I only have carry-on and not planning to check in my baggage? Flying Delta. I found Delta's website but their wording is somewhat confusing.

No, you do not. 90 minutes is plenty of time.

  • 1hour layover time between domestic and international flights

Hello! Is it enough to have 1hour layover to get from domestic terminal to international flight? What check will be on the way?

There are no checks. All you have to do is take the plane train from your arrival concourse to concourse E or F where you depart. 1 Hour should be enough time if your first flight is on-time.

Hi, I'm flying from Madrid to Toronto via Atlanta, I have 2h29m between flights. Do I have enough time to get and recheck my bags, and make it to my gate? Should I get the train? Are the gates close? Than you so much ofr your help

Yes, in Atlanta you will arrive in the E or F gates, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security. Your flight to Toronto will likely also leave from the E or F gates so you may not have to take the train.

    Thanks a lot!

  • Can I leave the airport briefly when connecting intl>>domestic?

I'm arriving at ATL from Brazil and connecting to a domestic flight 5 hours later. I know I'll have enough time for immigration and customs, but rather than immediately rechecking my bags, can briefly Ieave the international arrivals area with my bags and recheck later for my domestic flight?

Maybe, it depends on the agent at the check in counters. You won't be able to re-access the international bag re-check. You'll have to say you "forgot" to re-check your bags. Why do you need your bags with you when you leave the airport?

Actually, it's because my plans have changed and I just will not take the last leg of my itinerary as scheduled. It was too expensive to change to a different final destination so I'm buying a separate one-way to the other city which is cheaper than changing the routing.

Then yes, rip the tags off your bags when you exit customs and follow the signs for passengers ending their trip in Atlanta. You'll have to take the shuttle bus to the Domestic terminal and then re-check your bags for your new domestic flight. Note that if you do this and the domestic flight you have booked attached to your international flight is not the last flight of your itinerary, the rest of your itinerary will be cancelled.

Yep, it's the final return leg of the original itinerary from the US to S. America and back. Thanks for the tips!

  • St Louis to Sarasota with 45 minutes in ATL

How would I navigate from where I'm landing in ATL to when I would take off from? I'm flying delta in and out but only have 45 minutes from landing to take off. Any other information you think I need would also be greatly appreciated! I'm a nervous traveler.

All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Download the Delta app to your phone to have the most up to date information on your flight. The Plane Train connects all concourses inside security. You have enough time if your flight from St. Louis i son-time.

I have a flight coming from Charlotte to Amsterdam and the connection in ATL. We will have 1:48 hr layover. Will this be enough?

Yes, that is plenty of time. All you have to do is take the Plane Train from your arrival concourse to concourse E or F where your flight to Amsterdam will depart.

    Thanks!

  • 50 minutes to get to my connecting flight????

I'm flying in from Columbus GA to ATL with 50 minutes to get to my flight to DFW. Do I have enough time to get to the terminal? (first flight by myself)

You do not have to change terminals. All you have to do is take the plane train from your arrival concourse to your departure concourse. Just check your departure gate on the screens or delta.com on your phone and follow signs to the plane train and then to that concourse and then to that gate. You have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

Flying Tampa to Cleveland. First layover is 2:07. The return trip, layover = 1:05. They do not want wheelchairs but could benefit from jitney that runs the concourse. They move so much slower now. I've been tracking the flight numbers and over 3 days, 5 out of 6 require walk 1/2 a concourse to plane train, then walk another half concourse. This could be trouble if they miss the connecting flight where their inbound was on time. Thoughts?

The "Jitney" is for people with wheelchair service. Either they request wheelchair service or walk. On the way back it wouldn't be the end of the world if they missed their connection since there's pretty much hourly flights from Atlanta to Tampa.

I have a connecting flight at atlanta coming from Kin onto Kansas. What do I do?

You will arrive in concourse E or F, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and take the Plane Train to your departure concourse.

Thank you so much. Really appreciate the assistance.
