Hi, I normally fly via Dublin where I can do immigration pre-check, but this time it was much cheaper via Manchester in England, which has no pre-check yet. Flying with Virgin Atlantic. Does anyone know the process upon arrival at Atlanta? Will it be a case the bags will pass through automatically? And what Terminal and what average wait time for immigration at Atlanta? I have 2 hours between connections all being well.

Many thanks for the help!
In Arrival you will arrive in Concourse E or F, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and take the Plane Train to your departure concourse. You should have enough time.
Much appreciated!
Hello friends, will arrive from AMS in JUne at 1411, and connect at ATL to MCO at 1600. Is that a tight connection or am I good?
Yes, that is enough time if everything goes smoothly.
I am flying United Airways. Leaving from Atl and going to Mexico City but we have a layover in Houston. Will my flight leave from the international or domestic terminal?
United only a has a check-in counter in the North side of the domestic terminal, so that is where you check in. Also you will connect at IAH, not HOU (HOU is a different airport in Houston).
Flight to ATL lands at 3:26pm, leaves out of Southwest Airlines at 4:50pm - is 1hr and 20min enough time to get through customs/claim bags/etc?
You have absolutely Zero chance of making that. After you claim your bags and go through Customs, you will have to take a shuttle to the domestic terminal to re-check them with Southwest, and then go through security and to your departure gate. You need at least 3 hours.
Arrive Delta from GNV at 11:25a, connecting flight to JFK starts boarding at 11:30a, Can't find info on how close the gates are.
You won't know the gates until the day of your flight. You have enough time if the first flight is on-time.
Hi, I am looking at flights going from Memphis to Mexico with a layover in Atlanta. How much time should I budget for my Atlanta layover on my trip to and from Mexico city (both ways)? Many thanks.
I would want 1 hour on the way to Mexico and 2 hours on the way back.
I am traveling on southwest with carry-on bags. I have 50 minutes from landing in atlanta to take-off for dominican republis in int'l terminal. Do i need to go thru security again in atlanta? is 50 minutes enough time?
Southwest does not use the International Terminal for Departures. All you have to do on your way to Punta Cana is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in Concourse C. You have enough time.
Hi, I will be coming from Belgium and will have 2 hrs to make connection in Atlanta to Philadelphia. Will that be enough time? Will be clearing customs through US citizens line, not foreigners.
Yes, that is enough time if everything goes smoothly.
I've just had notification of a flight time change from Newark to Atlanta, flying Delta.
I need to change to a Virgin Atlantic flight to Manchester but the new layover time is only 43 minutes.
Is this realistic or should I be looking to change to a later flight to UK?
That is possible but it leaves no time to spare. There will be no later flights to Manchester so you'd have to switch to an earlier flight to Atlanta if you want to make a switch. You could also just ask for a refund due to the schedule change and just book a nonstop flight from New York to Manchester.
i have flights on virgin from Manchester with onward connection in Atlanta to FT Lauderdale - what concourse does the Manchester flight land at and which concourse is the flight to Ft L from ? 2hrs 15 mins connection enough time ?
Yes, that is enough time. You will arrive in Concourse E or F (likely F), go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and take the Plane Train to your departure concourse. You will likely depart from T, A, or B.
