Hi all, I will be arriving to ATL from DCA (Washington, D.C) and am headed to St. Croix stopping in San Juan, PR first, with a 2 hour layover. Is 50 minutes enough time to transfer from one gate to another? I wasn't sure if Delta considered San Juan / St. Croix international travel, for customs, etc. All flights are on Delta as well. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands (St. Croix) are considered domestic flights for immigration purposes. You have plenty of time.

Hi there! I am planning to fly on a Friday, from AMS to ATL, then on to RSW, all with Delta. Transfer time is 1h54m. Will I have enough time for customs, luggage pickup, luggage transfer section, security and then on to the new gate? Thanks!

That should be enough time as long as your flight from Amsterdam is on-time.

Thanks so much, that helps! :)

I have a layover of 3 hours in Atlanta flying with Delta from the Dominican Republic to Las Vegas, all with Delta. Is that enough time to make immigration, customs, luggage? What should I do to make it quickly? Thank you for your help. First time solo.

Yes, that should be plenty of time. Just follow the signs showing where to go.

    Thanks!

Do have enough time 40 minutes with Delta Fort Myers Atlanta and connection to Montreal (40 minutes)

That should be just enough time if your flight from Fort Myers is on-time. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Plane Train connects all concourses inside security.

Hi there. My parents are coming from Brazil through Atlanta. They will be getting a domestic flight to Austin. Whats the procedure for going through customs, luggage, etc? We are so lost.

They will arrive in concourse E or F, go through US Immigraiton, claim their bags, go through US Customs, re-check their bags are the re-check desk, then go through security and take the plane train to their departure gate on concourse A, B, C, or D. This is assuming both flights are on Delta.

Yes, both flights are Delta. Where is this re-check desk? Near the luggage claim? So they would have to go a Delta 's counter and recheck the bags? Thank you so much

Also, how will they know whats their concourse?

The re-check desk is right after customs. They will arrive in concourse E or F and they will depart from A, B, C, or D. They can look up their exact gates on the day of their flight from Delta.com, the Delta App, or the monitors in the airport.

Hi I am arriving in ATL from LHR flying with virgin Atlantic/ Delta- I inly have 1hr 30 mins layover, will this give me enough time to go through immigration and change terminal? Would anyone know if I need to check my bags or will they be sent to my next flight? Any information or tips greatly appreciated!

I am flying ATL to Ft. Lauderdale

You will arrive in Concourse F, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security, and take the Plane train to your departure concourse (like A, B, or C). You don't actually have to change terminals. You should have enough time if your flight from London is on-time. If it's late Delta flies hourly flights from Atlanta to Fort Lauderdale.

First time to fly (and solo)...have 1.5 hr layover in ATL...flying Delta all the way. Will I have to claim my bags and transfer in ATL? How do I know the concourse, gate, etc...will it be on my ticket? 1.5 hrs enough time?

No, you do not have to do anything with your bags in Atlanta. ALl you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You can get your gates from Delta.com, the Delta app, or the monitors in the airport on the day of your flight. You should have plenty of time. The Plane Train connects all concourses in Atlanta inside security.

I am arriving in ATL from LHR and then transferring to terminal A to fly Delta to FLL. They are two separate tickets How long do I need to complete this transfer. Any tips?

A is a concourse. If you are flying Delta or Virgin on your first flight, then show your FLL confirmation at check in, they should be able to check your bags through to FLL so that you can re-check them in the International Terminal and issue you both boarding passes so you can just go through security in the International Terminal and take the Plane Train to A. If your first flight is on British Airways, you will have to go through Immigration, claim your bags, and go through customs in the International terminal, then take the shuttle bus to S, re-check your bags with delta, and go through security there.

Thanks, but how long will I need to complete all of this?

If you are flying British Airways, I recommend at least 2 hrs 30 minutes.

    Thank you, very helpful

I am flying to JFK via Atl from Johannesburg. Would i need to pick up my baggage and go through customs? Will a 2 hour layover be enough time to catch my connecting flight? I land at Terminal I and need to get to Terminal S.

In Atlanta you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and take the plane train to your departure concourse. You don't actually have to go to Terminal S.

I will be flying from Toronto (YYZ) to ATL connecting to Bonaire (BON). The connection time 1 hr and 10 min. Is this enough time? We will be going through US border preclearance in Toronto.

Yes, that should be plenty of time. All you have to do in Atlanta is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

First time flying solo and in ATL. Flying from AVL to ATL then connecting on international flight to YYZ will I have to go through security again once I land in ATL? Or will I just ride plane train to my terminal? Starting to panic that 1 hour layover isn't enough time if I have to go thru security a second time

All you have to do is take the plane train from your arrival concourse to your departure concourse.

Hello I fly Air France from CDG to ATL then though to SJO with a long lay-over and I can use the lounge. On the return SJO to ATL it is Delta then I connect to AF. It seems the flights from SJO leave and depart from E and the CDG ones F. 1. Will I be able to check luggage through from CDG to SJO and SJO to CDG? 2. My flight from SJO arrives 18:56 and flight to CDG departs 20:40, thus about 1h40 min. 3. If I can not check luggage through will I make the CDG flight? I am a Sky Priority passenger. 4. Is there a fast-lane like at CDG or AMS?

Both ways in ATL you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk and go through security. I believe there is a lane for Sky Priority passengers at ATL. You should have enough time.

Thank you for the response / information
