I will be arriving ATL from YYZ at 8.47am With Delta to catch the next Delta flight at 10.35am to SXM. Will I arrive and depart from same terminal? Do I need to clear security and is the layover enough to avail this flight?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. Both gates should be in the E or F concourses, which are connected. You do not have to go through security. You have plenty of time.

  • 1.50 connection time - enough?!

I am arrivig into Atlanta on an international flight and leaving on a domestic flight less than 2 hours later. I have checked luggage and will need to collect in and recheck it apparently i.e. go through bag check and securty all over again (arg!). Will I have time, assuming my first flight arrives on time?

Yes, that should be enough time. Assuming you purchased your tickets together you can re-check your bags immediately after customs at the transfer desk.

  • Do we have enough transfer time?
    Feb 24, 2015
Hello, We land with Delta DL81 at 2:55PM from Brussels. Our connecting flight is Delta DL 2545 to Orlando leaving at 4:55PM. We have to clear customs, but do we have to recheck our luggage? and do we have enough time?

Yes, you will have to claim your luggage, go through Customs, and then re-check it then go through security and take the Plane Train to your departure concourse. You should have enough time.

Thanx, do we have to recheck if we are flying Witherspoon same airline ?

I'm assuming "witherspoon" was autocorrect for with the same. Yes, you have to claim your baggage in order to go through US Customs, regardless of what airlines you are flying. There will be a re-check desk right after you exit customs.

  • Is 23 hours of transit enough time to catch the flight for Florida?

I am traveling for the first time in USA from Europe. And I will be at ATL airport at 3:38 pm and depart at 5:42 pm. Do I have sufficient time to make all the first immigrants things and finf my baggage, make find the check in????

Yes, that should be enough time. You will arrive in concourse E/F, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US CUstoms, re-check your bags at the transfer desk immediately after, then go through security and take the plane train to your departure concourse.

  • Plane change - Southwest
    Feb 16, 2015
Coming from Boston to Atlanta on Southwest and then leaving on Southwest to Tampa. Will I be staying in same concourse? Looks like Southwest uses Concourses C and D. Have 45 minutes if flight from Boston is on time. Will I make it if I have to change between concourses?

All domestic Southwest flights are in Concourse C. You have enough time.

  • Check in Domestic or International Terminal
    Feb 15, 2015
Departing from ATL airport to Cabo San Lucas, however have a connection in Dallas Fort Worth to Cabo. Do I check in at ATL Domestic or International terminal for my flight?

Are you flying American Airlines? If so you have to check in in the Domestic Terminal, American does not have a counter in the International Terminal.

  • 1hr 15mins Domestic Connection
    Feb 9, 2015
I'm not worried about my connection on my way to my destination but coming back I only have an hour and 15 minutes in ATL, and my seats are in towards the back on both of those flights (Row 34 on a 757-200 and Row 31 on an MD88) should I make my connection even if I possibly got to go from Concourse A to Concourse E?

That should be enough time. You won't have to go from A to E - E is only used for international departures. The plane train connects all concourses inside security.

We have a 2hr 43min layover between Atlanta- New Orleans will this be enough to clear customs & immigration whilst collecting and rechecking baggage - any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Yes, that will be enough time.

  • 40 mn connection time
    Feb 3, 2015
we arrive from orlando with flght Af2898 : 18:30 Orlando, Orlando - 20:04 Atlanta, Hartsfield Jackson and 40mn later we have our flight for Paris AF 689 , is 40 mn coneection enough to catch our flight???

First, please note that your first flight will be operated by Delta Air Lines. Yes that is barely enough time if your first flight is on-time. You will arrive at concourse T, A, B, or C and need to take the Plane Train to concourse E or F. All you have to do is walk to and take the train and then walk to your departure gate.

And with a dog. Wondering about what International E r F concourse this will arrive on, whether my dog will be transferred to the connecting flight automatically, and id I can make it in 1hr 40 minutes, from immigration, to security to connection via Delta. Thanks!

I believe you will have to claim your dog to bring him through Customs just like the rest of your baggage. You should have enough time.

  • Atlanta customs with no bags
    Jan 1, 2015
Hi! I have one hour to get out of the airplane from Peru, clear customs and take a taxi to an interview. Is it possible to clear customs and be out of the airport in one hour. I won't have any bags to claim only my carry on.

If you only have to be out and to the taxi in an hour, that's possible. If you're expecting to be downtown an hour after you land, no, that's not possible.

Thank you zap! Yes I only have an hour to get to the taxi and then an extra 40 minutes to get to uscis office

I arrive from Las Vegas #1602 and then have a connecting flight to Flint, MI #2053 and it states that I have to change airports? Both say Terminal S Can you help?

Atlanta only has one airport. Are you perhaps departing from Detroit and arriving to Flint? If so that's what it's referring to. If both flights are on Delta in Atlanta, all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Plane Train connects all gates inside security.

I am traveling from Las Vegas #1602 and then must get on a flight to Flint, MI #2053 but when I booked it states that this flight books from another airport. What does that mean since they both say Terminal S

I'm flying with Delta from Brussels to Atlanta (flight DL 81), and then taking another flight from Atlanta to Guadalajara, i just have 2 hours and a half of time to take my second flight, should that be enough? any tips on how to go faster would be appreciated :)

To add to my comment, my second flight is also a DELTA flight (FL 309).

Your transfer time should suffice. You will arrive at & depart from ATL's International (Maynard Jackson) Terminal, which houses International Arrivals at Concourses E or F with separate immigration & customs checkpoints. While passengers arriving at Concourse F will go through customs clearance (CBP) at this concourse, regardless if connecting to other flights or not - Arrivals at Concourse E who need to connect to another flight will be processed right there. After customs clearance and re-check-in of your bags where indicated, proceed to your connecting gate.

You will also have to go through security once you re-check your bags. You have plenty of time.

  • Question on Delta "Legal Connection"
    Nov 23, 2014
My family of five is traveling this Christmas morning from Indianapolis to Puerto Vallarta via Atlanta. We arrive in Atlanta at 9:03 am and our flight to Puerto Vallarta departs Atlanta at 9:57 am. Delta assures us this is a "legal connection", but I am concerned about making the connection. I am not that familiar with the Atlanta airport and also don't know what to expect on Christmas morning. Can anyone offer guidance? Thank you!

Christmas morning isn't usually extraordinarily busy. All you have to do is take the Plane train from your arrival concourse to your departure concourse E or F. You have enough time.
