FAR Airport Overview
Hector International Airport FAR, located in the City of Fargo, North Dakota, has direct access via I-29/81 (exit 67). Its existing terminal was built in the 1980ies. However, FAR Airport has undergone major construction starting in 2006 with the first phase of its terminal expansion project, the west expansion, completed late September 2007, and its second and final phase, the north expansion, completed in 2008. With five operational gates, the airport is capable of handling the increase in passengers (648,137 in 2008). Two gates are used by Delta, one is shared by Frontier Airlines and Allegiant Air, and the remaining two are used by United Express. The following airlines offer nonstop flight with connections to all points of the globe: Allegiant to Las Vegas, Orlando Sanford, Phoenix-Mesa and Los Angeles. Frontier to Denver. Delta/NW to Minneapolis and Salt Lake City. United Express to Chicago and Denver.
Short- and long-term parking is available close to the passenger terminal. The long-term lot was expanded recently. When parking your car in winter, keep in mind that the parking lots have no electric outlets. Standard Parking, located at the exit booth, may provide a jump-start if needed and if they have sufficient staffing. To get from the airport to your destination you have the option of renting a car at the airport or taking one of the two taxis available: Doyle's Yellow Checker Cab
(701-235-5535) or Lucky 7 Taxi (701-235-1717).
NOTE: Arrive 75 minutes before your scheduled departure for a domestic flight, and 2 hours before an international flight. However, Allegiant Air recommends arriving at the airport at least two hours prior to scheduled departure. Customers need to be checked in no less than 45 minutes prior to scheduled departure which is when the Ticket Counter closes. Also note that while the airport is open year-round, 24/7, the passenger terminal opens at 4am and closes 30 minutes after the last flight arrival.
