Hiroshima HIJ Airport Overview

Hiroshima Airport HIJ is an international airport serving the greater Japan's Chugoku region ad the Prefecture of Hiroshima. 

The Airport is located in the city of Mihara - 50 km east of the city of Hiroshima. It is situated between the Chugoku, Yonago & Sanyo Expressways. Motorways 82, 73 and 49 lead directly into the Airport.

With a long runway and an estimated 3.5 million passengers a year, Hiroshima Airport is served by domestic and international airlines offering direct flights to cities within Japan, and to Seoul, Dalian, Tapei , and some major cities in China.
 
The on-Airport Hiroshima Airport Hotel (tel. 81 084 860 8111) has its own restaurant and facilities.
 
The three-level passenger terminal at Hiroshima Airport designates level 1 as the Arrivals level, level 2 as the Departures level, and level 3F as the Observation Deck.
Level 1 houses to the left the domestic Arrival lobby and domestic gates, with baggage claim, baggage lockers, conference room, baggage delivery service, Police, Information, a restaurant & a convenience store & rental car counters. In the middle is the Atrium and at the right is International Arrivals Lobby, Baggage Claim, Quarantine & Passport Control, and international gates, as well as Foreign Currency Exchange by Hiroshima Bank (tel. 81 084 886 8151).
Level 2 houses to the left of the Atrium the JAL & ANA ticket counters, JAL Lounge, ANA VIP Lounge, VIP Waiting Lounge, Domestic Gate Lounge and Group Waiting Room, as well as a shopping area, two restaurants, a nursery, a smoking room, and Gates A – D. To the right of the Atrium is the International Departure Lobby, ticket counters for NH, CA, OZ, CZ, CI, MU & UA, lockers, currency exchange, nursery, an all-purpose room, smoking room, restaurant, duty-free shop, passport control, International Waiting Room, Momi ji Lounge, and Gates E to G.
Note: Travelex Foreign Exchange is now at the international departure gate.
Level 3 has five restaurants, a Group Waiting Room & an Observation Deck.

Parking options at Hiroshima Airport: For parking information call either
a) the Government-operated Airport Car Park at 81 084 886 8131,
(b) or the Prefectural Airport Car Park at 81 084 886 9400, or

To get from the Airport to your destination, you can rent a car, take a taxi (tel. 81 082 437 2525), a Limousine, a bus or  train: The following locations can be accessed:
(a) directly from the Airport to: Shirachi St; Nakasuji, Hiroshima St., Hiroshia Bus Center; Kure St., Takehara St., Takehara ferry platform, Mihara st. Fukyama St. Taasaka BS;
(b) by transfers at Tkasaka BS to: Konu St., Sera; Kurayochi St., Tottori St.; Fuchuu, Heisei University; Okayata St., Tenmaya Bus Center; Onomichi St., Omishima, Habu Port (innoshima), Imabari St., Imabari Pier.
Shuttle Bus stops to Shiraichi Sta., to Hiroshima, to Fukuyama /Mihara /Onomichi and to Hiroshim Bus Terminal / Kure are located in front of the Domestic Arrival Lobby. Bus ticket vending machines are inside.
The Heiwa Odori Line, a 'limousine bus',  runs along the Peace Blvd. (Heiwa Odori) in Hiroshima's center, passing the A-Bomb Dome and Peace memorial Park, as well as the hotel.
1. Hiroshima Electric Railway (a) to Hiroshima Bus Terminal, Hakasuji Sta. via Astramline takes 53 mins; (b) to Hiroshima Shinkansen Exit takes 48 mins (tel. 81 082 231 5171);
2. Kure CityTransport to Hio Kosaten, Aga Station, JR Kure Station takes 90 mins(tel. 81 082 376 6688).
3. Chugoku Bus & Tomotetsy Railway to JR Fukuyama Station takes 57 mins (tel. 81 084 952 3700 / 848-2211).
4. Chugoku Bus to Mihara Station takes 38 mins  (tel. 81 084 848 2211)
5. Anzen Taxi (for nine passengers) to Takehara Port takes 30 mins at 1,000 yen (tel. 81 084 622 0842.
6. The Geiyo Bus takes you to (a) Iwakuni Sta. via JR Shiraichi Sta. takes 15 mins; (b) to Fukuyama Sta. via JR Shiraichi Sta., or to Kaitaichi Sta. via Shiraichi Sta. both take15 mins. (tel. 81 082 424-4701
