Unaccompanied minors are welcome on most flights through many airlines; however, there are many regulations to consider. Check with your airline prior to purchase for availability and services concerning unaccompanied minors.
    * Check with your airline for specific fees and regulations that apply to unaccompanied minors.
    * Children from approximately 5-17 are usually allowed to fly on direct, nonstop, or connecting flights.
    * Some airlines require unaccompanied minor service which grants supervision from boarding time until the minor is met at the final destination. This fee is often required by the airlines and a fee ($30 or more) is usually charged at check-in.
    * Standby reservations are not permissible with unaccompanied minors; rather, reservations will usually need to be confirmed for all segments of the minor's flight. * Prior knowledge of the receiving adult, as well as identification checks are often required by the airline for security purposes.
    * Children under 5 are usually ineligible for this unaccompanied minor service. These small children are required to be accompanied by an older passenger (usually at least 15 years of age).
Discounts are often provided for the fares of seniors, children and infants. These vary by travelers' ages and also by airline and flight.
